Beautiful, but Boring

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Harmony of the Seas

My employers took our management staff on Harmony of the Seas as a reward for a great year and having sailed with Carnival in the past, I was told the RC was a billion times better and that I would have the time of my life... Not exactly the case. It is truly a beautiful ship and I loved several things about it, like Central Park, the cabin, the boardwalk, etc. But it was sorely lacking in ...

Luke Warm Staff and Worn/dated ship

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

This was my 9th cruise and first with Royal Caribbean (NCL and Disney). The ship is showing it's age, the sofa in our cabin looked like a worn motel sofa. The staff was lukewarm and would ignore you if it wasn't their responsibility. But worst of all was the sales pitches and solicitations from the cruise staff. You couldn't eat breakfast or lunch without a staff member trying to up-sell you ...

Relatively new ship and thought we would enjoy a different cruise line. We have sailed 15 times on Carnival and thought we needed a change. The ship looked elegant and it was! We really enjoyed the free style dining and we had a drink package so that was nice too. The ship could be crowded at times. However, we had a spa suite that came with all the spa amenities and it was nice to retreat ...

We had always wanted to do Mexico and it was the second cruise of our trip making the first was Cuba The bar staff (making the drinks) were very good but the waitress service to the tables and around the pool areas was very bad. We were in a night club area 1 night waiting for the band to come and play, there were about 4 groups of people there. There were 2 waitresses standing in a corner ...

Would have been nice to have ports that were close to city visiting

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Star

Spent more time on the buses than in the town that you wanted to visit. In Antigua they should learn how to handle the volume of one boat. A lot of waiting on the 2 hr bus, 1/2 hr for smaller bus to transfer into town, then lowering our expected time to walk around town, once we get there for time to return, they delay it for another 1 hour, which really ticked a lot of people off. Feel ...

Good travel but not great service as is usual at Royal Caribbean

Review for a Asia Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

The trip was really good, but I have to compare with other travels we, me and my husband have done with Royal Caribbean in other places of the world . The cabin 9250 is a good size, but I think is a little old, the restroom mirrors were a little old and in the varanda we have just 2 chairs, not a small table, as is usual. The food was quite well, but I think it is more for oriental people , ...

This was my first cruise so I didn't have any expectations. Upon arriving the staff was very inviting and accommodating. Luggage was brought to our room at a decent time, room was clean and neat. We immediately went to the Windjammer, and the food was very bland, not good at all! I have seen reviews where people spoke of the food not being good, I thought they were just being extra. But no, the ...

Okay cruise - poorly managed ship

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Star

My wife and I always felt that our nine NCL 7 day cruises were just too short, and we wanted to see the Panama Canal - so we went for the 14 day experience. In several ways, it turned out to be a mistake. Having lived in the Los Angeles area we had no need to explore our embarkation city and found it mildly frustrating that NCL had no hotels available to include with our cruise. Unfortunately, ...

Norwegian Jewel 16 day cruise to New Zealand

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We chose this particular cruise because it went Sydney to Sydney and as we live near Sydney it was very convenient. The itinerary was also very attractive with 9 ports to visit. Embarkation went smoothly, even for first timers on NCL. We went on board and were told that the cabins were not quite ready, so went for lunch at O'Sheehan's Irish Pub and were pleasantly surprised. My husband had ...

We are Diamond members with RCL and have been cruising with them for over 30 years. We were completely taken aback with how the level of service has gone down recently. We love cruising and have always had an amazing time on RCL. There have always been little things in the past, but nothing that I would ever consider writing or complaining about. This time, I really feel as though I needed ...
