"Silver Note was great fun - really nice food, speakeasy atmosphere (other experienced Silver Moon cognoscenti often use it as their preferred after dinner bar even if not dining there) and great music from Esther, who is a real, authentic, very talented jazz and blues chanteuse. No hype means no inflated expectations so their Madagascan prawns, amongst the finest I’ve had, were really worth coming back for and the guy who runs it is endlessly nice and very competent...."Read More

Good but with reservations

Review for Silver Moon to Caribbean - All

This was our first Silversea cruise, having been on Seabourn, Azamara , R7S and Viking. On the positive side , the staff were attentive and the level of service was exemplary. We also were pleased that the dress code was well followed : Even on casual nights everyone was very smart , and the formal nights were a real occasion. (Other cruise lines seem to be letting standards drop). We are ...

Review for Silver Moon to South America

We booked the grand voyage for 70 days around Central and South America. Our 1st cruise with this company and likely our last. For 1/2 the money I wouldn’t bother writing this but for what they charge I feel compelled. The marketing and hype doesn’t match what was delivered. The food isn’t very good on the whole. It’s monotonous, poorly conceived and executed. I could write a book about what ...

Not up to 56 star standards

My wife and I travelled from Lima, Peru to Miami on Silver Moon Dec 2022 to Jan 2023. Good food, comfort and ship atmosphere are important. Have sailed many times with Princess and lately many times with Seabourn; now our favorite. Cabin We had a deluxe balcony suite which is about 8 inches narrower than the comparable Seabourn suite. The Silver Moon (SM) suite is not as practically or as ...

Many missed opportunities but still 5 Star service once onboard.

Overall Silversea remains a top quality luxury cruise product. Unfortunately, embarkation for this cruise was the most unprofessional fiasco EVER experienced with "any" cruise. Shipboard systems apparently malfunctioned, so it created a problem in the usual boarding procedures. Hiccups can happen with all companies, but it is "how" the crew responds to such problems that underscores the difference ...

Wonderful cruise (shore excursions and internet not so much)

Review for Silver Moon to Mediterranean

We usually travel on Celebrity's new ships, most recently enjoying the retreat, so we can't compare SS to other luxury lines. The food was excellent - but you need to make reservations in advance to get the times/venue you prefer. Service was excellent. Compared to Celebrity retreat, SS food and service were much better (to us). Many restaurant choices and always someone asking us if we need ...

Silver Moon - Great…Included Excursions - Not So Much

Review for Silver Moon to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Southampton to Lisbon including St. Malo, Bordeaux, Bilbao and Porto. The ship is new and beautiful, public spaces well-designed and elegant. The service was mostly outstanding from cabin attendants, butlers and the waitstaff. One exception was in Atlantide where service was extremely slow and at times a bit unpolished. Hot Rocks Grill in the evening was also slow and the food was bland. Food ...

Review for Silver Moon to Baltic Sea

Back to cruising after the pandemic hiatus, phew! One week around the Baltic, stopping at some fascinating new places and enjoying what felt mostly like Mediterranean weather came as SUCH a tonic after so many months of dreaming of the sea…. Any initial trepidation about COVID procedures and protocols was quickly quashed by the efficient way in which requirements were communicated and then ...

Fine Post COVID Cruise, At Last

Review for Silver Moon to Baltic Sea

Our tenth cruise on Silversea and first since COVID was overall a very good experience. Embarkation was outside on a very windy ground level pier. First your COVID test results are checked, then a form to fill out, hopefully without it blowing away, then a quick check by the ship's doctor of vaccination cards, then actual check in to exchange passports for keys. Somehow in all this they ...

We choose this cruise as the ship was new and itinerary interesting as we had not seen several of the ports. The positive 1. New ship with good (not great) suites. Ship handles the seas well and is smooth 2. Lots of staff who are very polite 3. Multitude of dining options 4. Shuttle service in many cities 5. Good coffee, and cocktails. Typical low quality wines ...

Modern interior - old fashioned cooking.

Review for Silver Moon to Baltic Sea

Silver moon is brand new and very well designed. A rather bulky exterior makes for a very appealing and spaceous interior for the 600 guests. The standard cabin is large and held in light grey and beige nuances. Large and well appointed bathroom. Walk-in closet. Nice balcony. The public spaces, lounges and venues are varied, plenty and with a light, modern design. Super ambiance. The service is ...
