I've always heard how amazing Silversea Cruises are, but I was completely underwhelmed for many reasons. First I believe the crew hates Iceland since they're mostly from Philippines and Nigeria. I think they are doing their best but nothing like I read about prior to my cruise. The food was mediocre at best, especially in the main dining room, Atlantide. Pool grill was the best but in spite of heaters it was just too cold to enjoy. Same goes for the pizza area. My "butler" was completely clueless! Room attendant was great. I was a solo traveler and the meetups were fine. Trivia was one of the highlights. The excursions were just ok, nothing spectacular.

The first day of the cruise the pilot boat and captain were completely out of sync causing damage to the bow of the ship. Because of this we had to stay overnight in Reykjavik so missed one of my most look forward to excursion. But the worst part of the cruise was disembarkation!!! I paid for door to door and the people who were in charge kept telling me my car would be there shortly. I waited for over an hour and no car. Because of this I had to pay $144 for a taxi to my hotel. Unacceptable for a cruise line so highly rated!

I will NEVER sail with Silversea again, but looking forward to a transatlantic crossing on Regent Splendor in November.
