After several cruises with Crystal and Seabourn, my spouse and I decided to try Silversea. We were excited about their new Silver Moon ship, but we quickly realized that marketing promises did not match reality.
The embarkation process was tedious and confusing. After all the time spent to enter personal data and travel documents online (before the cruise), we found out that we had to start over again as they had our passport numbers, names and birthdays incorrect. Overall we had to wait in line for over 40 min before boarding the ship.
The ship interior design was disappointing to say the least, and reminded an average corporate hotel with lack of luster and luxury. The layout of public spaces is quite inconvenient: lounges, art cafe', restaurants, shops, bars and library (which had a very limited choice of books), are all located on different decks forcing passengers to move up and down all day long. With the exception of the pool and the cabin, both quite large and comfortable, there was nothing remarkable about this ship.
