This company has gone down hill. This was our second cruise with American Queen. We took the Queen from New Orleans to Memphis in Nov 2019. It was amazing; great food; great service; great tours. We were so excited to go on another cruise after the success of our first one. We were so disappointed with the Empress. Between the cruise and airfare, we (my husband and I) paid almost $10,000. ...
Response from BriannaH, Guest Relations @American Queen Voyages
Thank you for your feedback! We are pleased to hear that the scenery was amazing; however, we are disappointed to hear about the dining experience and the cancelled tour on Monday that...
We choose because of the itenery. Ship was very clean & crew very friendly. The food was horrible ! Corn & ham on pizza only 1 example. Entertainment I have seen better at high school level. Pool Entertainment was funeral music. They asked us to buy a cruise pkg of $3k upfront lump sum to guarantee them 12 cruises. NO! there was a port cancelation & the refused refund of the port fee. They ...
Went on an Alaskan cruise last year on Princess. A mud slide prevented us from going into Skagway. Booked this cruise to make up for it. So far I don’t have many good things to say. I have 20 cruises worth of experience on several cruise lines. Each cruise line does some thing well and could use improvement in other areas. So far the service has been terrible. I had a good experience in the ...
This is by far and away the WORST cruise we have ever been on and we cruise a couple times each year. We purchased this cruise in June of 2023. This was prior to the Maui Fires. The cruise was to leave Vancouver and start the 6 day Pacific crossing, however due to the Maui fires the two days/nights we were to spend in Lahaina were off the itinerary. Instead Royal Caribbean made the decision ...
I gave this cruise two stars based on:
Alaska and Glacier Bay are breathtaking.
Room steward was attentive.
Dining room staff, specialty dining staff, and a couple bar tenders are well trained and seemed to enjoy their jobs.
Purchased priority embarkation for $199 which included breakfast room service. The man that delivered our breakfast was pleasant and enjoyable.
Teppanyaki had ...
This was our 5th Seabourn cruise and, unlike our most memorable cruise aboard the Quest to Antarctica with the late and much missed Captain Larsen, this voyage was a bust. Think that you’ll get close to Polar Bears and other marine mammals aboard Zodiacs? Think again! You’d be better off watching a David Attenborough film and saving yourself +$30k. We never got closer than 1000 meters to these ...
We went on a miniAlaska cruise from Vancouver, ending in Seattle. The checkin process in Vancouverwas poorly organized. We ended up standing in line for over an hour. The ship itself is OK but in need of upgrading. Staff for the most part were friendly and helpful. We disembarked to have lunch in Ketchikan. When we returned there was a very long line to get back on the ship. Only one ...
While most of the staff were very friendly and go out of their way to help you, guest services left must to be desired. Unless you purchase upgrades and shore excursions, don't expect must. Preferential service is give to passengers who pay the extra money, the rest of the passengers' needs are only seen if the staff has time. This includes disembarkation times at ports. If you stop at a port that ...
My wife and I have sailed on 4 cruises to various places. We have sailed on Royal Carribean and Norwegian. The most recent was on Princess to Alaska. The boarding experience was lacking. Very long line and not very organized. We told the person to use the main credit card for the secondary passenger, but apparently that did not happen, so we were called back down to guest services during the ...
For so many years taking a cruise was something we were going to do “someday” when we retired. Well, someday came last September and the years of vague anticipation were more fun than the actual experience.
The Good:
Big, beautiful, clean facility. Size of the ship made the Iowa look like a rubber duck.
Friendly, helpful staff, many making real effort to understand our English.
The ...
