Fourteen day Cruise of lifetime and expectations too high. Loved previous river cruise before Covid. This one was beyond disappointing. Staff not fully trained. Shore excursions not setup well actually lost a person on tour. Food mediocre (unable to cut through steak or muffin for Benedict; inconsistent drinks at pool bar; fish offerings tough or chewy, speciality restaurants certainly not ...

The main reason we chose this cruise was to go do some activities in the snow. we prebooked and paid in full for the excursions we wanted to do. Eg: Stay in an Ice Hotel overnight, go reindeer sleighing, husky sleigh ride and ride a snow-mobile.
We DID NOT do any of these. We tried booking a helicopter ride at one of the replacement ports and that got cancelled too. Then tried to rebook a ...
Thank you, Loveshack117, for sharing your experience with us. Your kind words about our onboard staff are truly a testament to their dedication to your comfort. That said, we're sorry to...
The Good:
The ship is nice and the ports are interesting. Manfredi’s is a great place and the man who manages it is a very accommodating fellow. Our room Steward was very good.
The not-so-good:
The silver liquor package is not worth it anymore. When we traveled with Viking on the Budapest to Amsterdam river cruise the higher-end wine and liquor were worth the extra money – on this ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to see the natural beauty of Norway. While we saw some of it, the tours were mediocre at best, the cultural experiences and food were lacking and contrived, and most importantly, expectations were managed so poorly that it was a big problem any time you needed information. From Covid testing to basic information on luggage, transfers, ...
We hear you, Moihereoui. While we appreciate you taking the time to recognize your cabin steward and waitstaff, and are pleased to hear that your cabin and onboard community were enjoyable...
I chose this cruise for the itinerary, but it has been a total disappointment to this point. Before we left, stop in Stavanger replaced with Shetland Islands…bad weather in Shetlands changed the new plan so the port of call was skipped. Stopped a day later in Trondheim where the included tour was 1.5 hr 2 stop panoramic bus tour of not much. Next stop - Bodo - also cancelled due to weather…it ...
We are sorry to learn aspects of your travel with us did not meet expectation, Lkowen001, and appreciate you sharing your concerns. While you have our assurances that any necessary itinerary...
And I have taken several; why you wonder:
#1 - I caught an intestinal illness on board, couldn't eat hardly eat anything but chicken soup and a little fruit for the last seven days of the cruise; it was an eleven night cruise. Couldn't determine if it was something I ate or if it was some inconsiderate passenger on board spreading disease; doesn't matter I caught it on board. I do want to ...

Room Service was terrible. The luggage forwarding, my name brand clothes are stolen by either the luggage forwarding company or port crew. Not enough activities for the world cruiser. Very disappointed with this cruise, was expecting the service to be outstanding. Some bartenders are good and some are disappointing. The Head Chef is excellent but when he left for vacation the food was not ...
My wife and I chose this Viking’s “14 Day Into the Midnight Sun” trip specifically because it had port stops in the Orkney and Shetland Islands and also crossed the Arctic Circle. We also chose Viking due to their reputation and positive reviews we had read. Unfortunately our trust was misplaced and we will definitely not be using this cruise line again.
First, the positives: airport arrival ...
We appreciate your candid comments, BobinOdessa, and sincerely regret that your itinerary was impacted by unforeseen mechanical challenges. Your satisfaction is important to us and, if you...
On the June 30th Jupiter sailing. What a disaster, As other posters have stated there was an electrical issue with the engine. The same situation as an earlier sailing on a totally different boat. These are new boats, one would expect issues to not arise so soon. Because of the warranty parts had to be flown in and it took two days in a terrible industrial port. We ended up missing both of the ...
We picked this cruise line based on reviews and reputation. We picked this cruise for the its itinerary and excursions. Viking missed the mark all too often, then when they had the opportunity to offer some accommodation for their error - chose to pour gasoline on the fire.
Save your money and your sanity - sail another cruise line.
I will acknowledge that the ship is lovely, but that is ...
