I chose this cruise for the itinerary, but it has been a total disappointment to this point. Before we left, stop in Stavanger replaced with Shetland Islands…bad weather in Shetlands changed the new plan so the port of call was skipped. Stopped a day later in Trondheim where the included tour was 1.5 hr 2 stop panoramic bus tour of not much. Next stop - Bodo - also cancelled due to weather…it turns out it almost never visited due to weather according to the guest lecturers on board. Why include it on am itinerary when it usually doesn’t happen? It’s like false advertising!
Covid impacts - pcr test before boarding, daily pcr tests, health questionnaire daily, temperature checks daily, NO INDEPENDENT TRAVEL according to Viking health advisor….this means no on your own walkabouts in ports or shops. Just the panoramic tours or other tours you can procure.
In Trondheim, the tours were sold out faster than the tour descriptions and costs were made available to passengers without any preference- status, booking level…just first come, first serve, oops sorry!

All Viking ships, cabins are lively, BUT I choose the cruise on itinerary and that is what matters most to me. The ship is simply my means of transport, hotel. I think Viking needs to either align sail dates to more feasible weather or clearly state likelihood of delivering on the actual itinerary.
