We chose this cruise because we wanted to see the natural beauty of Norway. While we saw some of it, the tours were mediocre at best, the cultural experiences and food were lacking and contrived, and most importantly, expectations were managed so poorly that it was a big problem any time you needed information. From Covid testing to basic information on luggage, transfers, embarkation-debarcation, the information provided was wrong. They insisted we get tested before we left home, reasonable request, but they never asked to see it. They told us we’d get a daily email with our daily test results, never came. We were told we’d get a message on our screen with our results, nope. They told us our luggage would be waiting for us in our stateroom when we embarked, nope. Anytime we called with a question, we were told they’d get to us, never did. It was such a mess that I was embarrassed for them. The buses for tours were not friendly for people with disabilities and that was inexcusable. I took notes because it quickly devolved into a poor customer experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service from our steward, the waitstaff, the people behind the bars and restaurants. They were great. So were our fellow passengers. Rooms were nice, well appointed and comfortable so that was great. But, the value wasn’t worth the hassles, lack of care by the general manager. For what we paid, we feel ripped off, mislead, and recommend you find another cruise line because if Viking can’t excel on their home turf, what’s the point?
