Hopefully not our last Azamara cruise

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

This was our third cruise with Azamara and it reconfirmed how much we like the brand (which doesn't seem any different since the change in ownership). Our cabin was on deck 8, which was handy for the buffet restaurant, Living Room and outside decks on 9 and for the main entertainment areas/dining room on 5. No need to use the lift as the ship is small enough to easily get around. Our cabin ...

Really excellent ship with wonderful crew

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

There were 591 on this cruise (ship accommodates about 675) with a crew of about 400. This is considered an upscale line and ship and it is. The ship and crew did a fine job. The food was excellent and much better than most of their competitors, but they could use some menu additions and modifications. We love azamara and love the quest and you will too. This ship was apparently overhauled about ...

Bus crash in Rio

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

We wanted to see parts of South America. We enjoyed the food and service. The excursions were pricey so we did most touring on our own in ports. In Ponte Del Este, we obtained a private driver and toured the whole area including a visit to casa Pueblo, which was amazing. We took the ship’s excursion to see Christ the Redeemer and the beaches. On the way back to the ship. The bus driver lost ...

Review for a Europe - Greek Isles Cruise on Celestyal Journey

Just got back from a 2 week trip. Overall experience was great. Few bad points worth mentioning but nothing that would change our minds to do another trip with this company. The bad: the excursion desk doesn’t have themselves together. We got an excursion ticket they had a different title than what we paid for. Once on the bus we were told the itinerary. Half the bus was ready to riot as ...

Repositioning cruise - sailed the Med

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Star Flyer

I loved the idea of real sailing and always wanted to see the smaller ports in the Med, so when I saw that on reposition one could travel the entire width of the Med (Turkey to Caneries), I signed up for the whole 35 days. Even with the single supplement, the price was quite reasonable; the accommodations, food and service excellent. Sailing into the small ports was as nostalgic and ...

Amazing experience... IF

My wife and I have always loved the "small ship" experience, and have no need to be entertained, so this was a perfect fit for us. BUT, if you need nightly entertainment, want to dine alone at a table, don't like international crowds, (I would say 60% of the passangers NOT from the USA) or are prone to seasickness, this is NOT the cruise for you. If you remember that this is first and formost ...

A solid, however not spectacular cruise experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

Overall the cruise was a solid 7/10. Not at par with some other cruises I have been on but it was ok overall. Not sure if this is reflective of the 'Celebrity experience' as this was our only cruise ever with them. I didn't see a great difference. The main dining room experience was average from a food quality experience. Not as good as prior cruises on Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Carnival. ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We chose this cruise for its itinerary. The ship was stopping in Egypt, Israel and ending in Istanbul Turkey. We were interested in seeing the Pyramids in Cairo and touring Jerusalem then spending some time in Istanbul at the end of it. Due to some very unfortunate circumstances we were unable to stop in Israel so we had an extra sea day. We covered 3 continents, Africa, Asia & Europe in this ...

MSC in a nutshell

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Lirica

My family has taken about 20 plus cruises and MSC did a fairly great job in meeting our expectations. This was our first MSC cruise. I would say the highlight of this cruise was definitely the entertainment! the shows each night were elite! the dancers were exceptional. the pianist Antonio at the L’Atmosphere lounge was extremely talented. We ended up there every night. Edwin the waiter in the ...

A much better Journey than expected!

Review for a Europe - Greek Isles Cruise on Celestyal Journey

We wanted to experience some Greek islands which we haven't visited before and with the late night stays in Santorini and Mykonos we went with Celestyal as the local experts. We had a week on Crete first before joining the ship (I didn't know you could join the cruise at ports other than Piraeus). The only problem here is that there is no one shore side to assist with your luggage until you are ...
