As a latitude reward member of NCL i chose this cruise because other experiences with NCL was good. I have also resolved to cruise during the Thanksgiving period (been doing so for the past 3 years). Thus, I decided to experience this ship because I heard it is beautiful. I also planned on taking the Alaska cruise on this ship next year (not sure now with the experience).
I wanted to plan my ...
We have cruised twice before on Holland America and once with Royal Caribbean and were generally satisfied but this was by far the worst of the four cruises. The problems included:
1) We routinely had to wait 25+ minutes to eat dinner at the complimentary restaurants because the ship has insufficient dining space. When added to the 25+ typical wait for food because of insufficient kitchen ...
We choose this cruise because we thought it was going to be a wonderful holiday getway. The dining room staff was horrible it took literally 20 minutes to get a cup of tea. Apepitizers took forever to get waiters never check on you. Poor selection seafood same food in the buffet everyday, poolside no server asking you for drinks unless you stumbled over a bar tender get off his shift. Plus ...
Cabin. The cleanliness of our cabin was very poor. On embarkation, there was a box of cereal on the floor of the wardrobe so that obviously hadn’t even been checked or cleaned, a mouldy used coffee bag in the coffee machine, and the bedside tables had not been cleaned as were covered in sticky ring marks! I had to clean the bathroom and we didn’t have a bath mat or a laundry bag. The balcony ...
Chose because of embarkation port in NYC. We live in Brooklyn. Embarkation was delayed, but went fairly quickly. NCL provided water, or juice and snacks.
The ship was very clean.
Our cabin was fine and had large balcony with 2 loungers, side table and large table with 2 chairs; we loved it.
Cabin steward did an acceptable job and was attentive.
Negatively, no towel ...
So I was told after the fact that this was the first re positioning cruise for this ship. I think the ship is to big for me. There was not enough seats in the atrium. Guests were pushing people to get to seats. Elevators were always crowded. Someone made a suggestion to put escalators in to relieve the overcrowded elevators. Our last day on board was very cold so everyone was inside. This ...
We booked the Bliss for our annual family Thanksgiving cruise, but were greatly dissatisfied by the on-board service level, particularly the food service. This was by far the poorest service we have received on any cruise line/ship. And since food is a big part of a cruise, when that is poor, it pulls down the whole experience.
Cabin: 8126 and neighboring cabins have very large balconies, ...
This was my first time sailing with NCL.
Good:
The ship/Bliss was amazing. Loved the pool, hot-tubs, variety of places. Observation deck, mini-suite.
The staff was always kind and willing to help. I felt the staff tried to go above and beyond when needed.
Enjoyed the proposed itinerary.
Liked the 2-beverages on premium package. (nice my husband or I could order for each other, ...
This was a 21 day cruise on the Norwegian Bliss, that was very disappointing. We have cruised a number of other lines before, this was our first on Norwegian. We were excited to go thru the Panama Canal, and the stops were all good, what we expected. Careful with the excursions they provide, a number of them are just shopping stops, that you pay good money for.
Our problems were mostly with ...
Wanted to see the new Panama Canal - Crossing was great.
I was impressed at the way this large ship could dock in port so easily.
The sailing was very smooth and would be a great way for people afraid of getting sea sick to start cruising, as there was very little rocking of the ship at all.
The buffet dining set up was very efficient and streamlined and was easy to get to and there ...
