As a latitude reward member of NCL i chose this cruise because other experiences with NCL was good. I have also resolved to cruise during the Thanksgiving period (been doing so for the past 3 years). Thus, I decided to experience this ship because I heard it is beautiful. I also planned on taking the Alaska cruise on this ship next year (not sure now with the experience).
I wanted to plan my next cruise and approached the Cruise Next Desk. One young lady from Croatia was around the desk. I approached and she ignored my presence for 3-5 minutes. I am a person of color! Finally, a caucasian male came and stood behind me, she immediately stopped what she was doing and asked "can I help you?' She may have legitimately been doing something, but the fact that she ignored my presence was concerning. Totally spoiled my vacation from that. Prejudice is a fact in the free world, but no one should spend large sums of money to experience it. Therefore, I feel compelled to address this issue on different forums.
The staff in the dining rooms make it a point of their duty to say 'no' to most of your request? When you cruise a much as I do, you know what to ask for. If you get it on one ship you are more than likely to ask for it on another. I will not take another Thanksgiving cruise, based on this ship's experience.
Cabin was very comfortable, a little smaller than usual, but good. The liquid soap in the shower appears to be hand soap, versus the regular soap with conditioner. Bring your own soap, or if you forgot just purchase some. I was disappointed that the cruise line could not supply a better brand. No lotion was given as before.
