Having traveled on two other Oasis Class ships, we had pretty high expectations for the cruise. Let's start with the positives:
Embarkation/Disembarkation
Absolutely the best I have ever seen. We arrived at 10:30 after parking in the attached garage and leaving off our luggage with the porters. We absolutely no line downstairs, they checked our passports and Sail Pass, went through ...
This was our fourth sailing on the Harmony. My husband, 21 year old granddaughter and I had a wonderful time. Boarding was easy and efficient. We boarded immediately and since we were in a suite, went to the suite lounge. We really love the suite lounge, the two concierges, Jeremia and Elaine greeted us. We confirmed our dining and other items that we booked on line. Since we had the all ...
I am a RC Diamond member for a number of years now so I tend to keep my business with this line due to the perks (which are dwindling) that go with it. My 2nd time on this particular ship
The Harmony, launched just 3.5 years ago, is a great ship. Huge. Almost too many choices in dining and fun. It mostly did not feel very crowded except perhaps the first sea day.
:"Grease" was fantastic. ...
We chose this cruise for our family Christmas present. Eight of us age 12,14,16 and five adults went. We chose it primarily for the ship activities and CoCo Cay, their private island.
Best thing was the evening dining. Our wait staff was great and food was wonderful.
The worse thing was the huge crowds at everything, standing in forever lines, the nickel and diming for every little ...
I am no expert cruiser, but wanted to share our experience for those seeking a December experience on this REALLY big ship!
Pros:
*Holiday ease w/lots of options for the entire extended family.
*Informed captain that made expert decisions to avoid storms and find sunnier ports.
*Ship design that allows for folks to getaway from the crowds.
*Great Teen club that my two teenagers said ...
We wanted to cruise on a mega ship...we thought, yes, there’s a lot of people, but it’s a really big ship, and won’t feel crowded....big mistake! New York City at New Year’s Eve feels less crowded. After searching for a table at the breakfast buffet, bad seats at entertainment, not being able to find a lounger at the pool, long lines especially at the elevator, misinformed signage, and embarkation ...
The Good -
Had an excellent roomy balcony cabin with largest shower and balcony have had in several sailings. Room steward also provided above average service, accommodating our schedule.
Food was much improved over recent Royal cruises. Diversity and quality in both dining room and windjammer much improved.
Embarkation and debarkation best have had in recent years.
The Not So Good ...
We choose this cruise to try a different cruise line and so glad we did. First off getting on the ship and off was such a breeze. Never did we feel congested or feel that 6500 passengers are onboard. The sheer size of the ship is astounding and we forgot we were on a ship. Our staterooms were done being flipped very early too. The staterooms were very clean and designed well. There are plenty of ...
We chose this cruise specifically for the ship, Harmony of the Seas.
We made the mistake of choosing a cabin that was on the 14th deck, in the very back, just 4 cabins from the very aft end. The closest elevator was approx. 100 yds towards midship. At 71 years old, that's a hike every time you want or need to go somewhere.
RECOMMENDATION: CHOOSE CABIN TOWARDS MIDSHIP AND CENTRAL PARK (INSIDE ...
This Ship is Extraordinary!
I don't have the words to describe this ship other then to say it is extraordinary, exceptional and simple amazing. This was my first sailing on one of Royal Caribbean's four Oasis Class ships which are Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas with Harmony being now the second largest behind Symphony of the Seas. Harmony of ...
