Our first cruise. The good, bad and ugly. First the good, this ship is clean clean clean. I wish I had better pics of the cabin, I did not think about it while we were on board. Our cabin was small but did not feel that way, there was plenty of room for the two of us and all my over-packing. The room staff went above and beyond and super fast. The ship was large and there were a lot of people. The bad, the pools were WAY too small for them. Standing room only, every minute of every day. But they were cleaned and in many cases drained and refilled every day. The water slides overly crowded and too many unruly children unattended. We are parents of 4, so we love kids. But they needed more structure on this ship, running kids were a genuine danger to others. Our week brought several bouts of rain and storms, so the entertainment was cancelled or modified many times and to be fair, I should not judge them. The comedy shows were super funny and what we attended of the activities had been done as best they could. Service was hit and miss, some servers would be friendly and get to know you. Others only stopped when you waived like a crazy bird in front of them. The dining staff were super attentive and I highly recommend the Italian. Yum. That is as far as I go with the food, the rest, it was AWFUL, never had I heard of "Boiled, scrambled eggs" yuck. The buffet was never more than luke warm and if I were Guy, I would be for getting my name off those deck-side eateries. We enjoyed the ports all so very much. Lots to learn about and explore. Our guides were funny and friendly and did their very best to make sure we had a good time. Overall, we met some great people, enjoyed the ports and had a very clean and comfortable room. After that it was one drunken person puking on the deck and another falling all over screaming about how wasted he was, yet another group bragging about having weed and offering to share. Not our cup of tea. Read Less

We loved our time on the Breeze. I am writing this review as I really enjoyed reading the reviews prior to our cruise which was the week of 5/20 so hopefully this will help anyone with an upcoming trip on the Breeze. We departed out of Galveston with an itinerary going to Montego Bay, Grand Caymen and Cozumel. The ship was beautiful. Very well- appointed. Not as gaudy as others ships which was nice. The staff was always working hard to keep it clear and refreshed. All of the staff we encountered were wonderful. We loved the entire staff at Camp Ocean, where our little one frequented often (and loved it!), Das in the Blush dining room and our stateroom attendant, Jose. They were each so wonderful and knew us by name by the 2nd day. I recommend Camp Ocean for anyone with little ones, ours is 2 and some change and it was nice to send her to camp for a couple hours each day to have some adult time. You can leave diapers, wipes, anything else they will need and your child will be fully occupied with games, songs, and activities every day. We loved the Dr. Seuss theme and participating in the parade across the ship and the story time. Definitely a ton for kids to do. One thing they didn't tell us prior though is that any child who is not yet potty trained can't swim or play on the splash pad. Understand the pool as it's sitting water but the splash pad would have been fun to play in. We paid for the chat feature on the Carnival MyHub and it was good to chat with others in your party as the ship is really big. We didn't attend and shows or anything as we had our little one with us and didn't stay out late. The food at the buffet was OK...nothing to really right home about. BUT, the food at dinner in Blush was really, really good. Some items were even great I would say! But again, the service is what makes it an all-around wonderful dining experience. We loved Guy's Burgers (I had three in 7 days...), Indian Food was surprisingly really yummy, pizza was great and the BBQ also good. Breakfast buffet got old after day 3 but there is also the option to do sit down breakfast in your assigned restaurant which we heard was great. Something to note for next time. Casino took a lot of our money but hey...whatever. Drinks were also good and the Cheers package was worth it for my husband, but not so much for me. They say 5 total drinks a day will pay for it. I barely made 5 each day.. but, again. Good to know for the future. Our interior stateroom was small, but as to be expected. Especially with a 2 year old with us... crib fit nicely next to our King bed. Will likely upgrade to a larger room next time. From peeking my head in other rooms, seems worth a little more change to have a little bit more room to move around. We didn't book any excursions in advance (again, had a 2 year old) and glad we didn't because it rained (poured, really) in both the Caymens and Cozumel. We did go to Doc's Cave Beach Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica and that was nice. Pretty beach, good service from those who work there (you can get drinks and food on the beach) but beware of a lot of people walking up and down selling things from wooden turtles to pot... We came home in a Tropical Storm so it was very rocky on the boat but the Captain and Cruise Director were sure to communicate with us and warn us it was approaching. All in all, great time!! First of all, I think it's important to mention that I wasn't very excited about our port day in Jamaica. However, we met a local taxi driver (Rae) who was beyond helpful and took us to a magical spot- Mayfield Falls! I honestly hesitate to blast it all over the internet, because what was so special, besides the beauty, is that we didn't see one other group while we were on our tour. We had the place all to ourselves, and it was stunning! If you want a special tour, by a trustworthy local, call Rae (I'll edit this review later when I find his number)! He was beyond helpful and put in the extra effort to make sure we had a once in a lifetime experience! Actually, we were driving to Dunn's River Falls and I mentioned that I hoped it wouldn't be completely packed, he offered to turn around (we were already about 10 miles out of town) to take us to one of his personal favorite of all the falls in Jamaica. Look at the pictures below, if you want to see some photos of the gorgeous falls. Now for the rest of the cruise, it was fun. We were traveling with our 4 adult children (19, 20, 21 & 23) and they had a great time. There was plenty to keep them entertained on the "at sea" days, and they even won money in the casino! The ship is kept immaculately clean. I noticed very few signs of wear and a staff that was in a constant state of buffing and shining. My favorite deck was the Serenity Deck (15) by far. It was an oasis from the bustle of the Lido deck, and I was able to nestle myself in a private little pod (I don't really know what else to call it) and relax the day away. Completely peaceful and a knock-out view from the front of the ship! The casino was smokey, and that's literally my only complaint. The staff were cheerful and light-hearted...not like Vegas where you get your head snapped off for any little infraction. The Comedians- hilarious. We went to both the PG & the Adult shows, and found ourselves belly laughing at each one! It was one of my favorite parts of the cruise! The food, ugh. To be fair, I am allergic to wheat, like EpiPen allergic, and so my diet is pretty limited. That being said, the wait staff did their best to have me order my dinner the day before, so they would make sure to keep it wheat-free. However, and this has nothing to do with the staff, the food was mediocre at best, sometimes it was downright gross- everyone in our group felt the same way. The portions were small and the meat was seemingly not the highest grade. But, the kids like the pizza, burrito bar, and burgers. I have to make sure I say that Arnold, Camile & Tolentino were impeccable servers. They hustled and smiled and worked their tails off! Emerson, their cabin steward, was a hoot! He knew all of the kids' names, and called them accordingly. They said that they wished he could come home with us! Our cabin was roomy, and the view was amazing. I think I could hear the staff pulling chairs out at about 7 am, but I am not one to sleep in late anyway. I was hesitant to spend the extra money on the balcony, but it was totally worth it! Overall, the experience was fantastic. I wish we could do it more often! Family bonding time, eating together every night...memories made that I will treasure forever! Read Less

Embarkation in Galveston a "Breeze" (Pun intended LOL). We had a 12:30 check in and were on the ship eating lunch by 1:00. Muster was a nice change from other cruises since it was held inside with AC as opposed to searing heat on the deck we have experienced on prior cruises. We stayed in cabin #6468. Room was very nice, and we love the extended balconies that these rear corner rooms have. Room Steward was great. The Ship is very large and sometimes feels crowded but the decor is nice and it still feels fairly new. The Pools seem very small for such a large ship and, like all carnival ships, are always crowded. The aft pool didn't seem to be reserved for adults only like it was on other ships we have been on. The water slides are great as is the serenity deck, although we would have liked to have more shaded areas on the serenity deck. The shows were good, the we thought the Motown night was the best of the week. The performers did a great job in all the shows, but some nights just weren't our cup of tea. Now for the food. To say we were unimpressed would be an understatement. The buffet was almost all fried food and was lower quality than Golden Corral. Most was barely edible. The only high points of the lido deck food were the deli and, like always, Guys Burgers. In the dining room, we had Marsellus, and Kevin as our wait staff. They were amazing! The dining room food was better than the buffet, but just barely. I realize that most of the food has to be pre-made to accommodate the sheer number of meals, but on all our previous carnival cruises the food has been amazing. I'm not sure why it was so terrible on this cruise. Ports were great, but I would not recomend Roatan and Belize in summer because it is so hot. But like always the locals are freindly and we enjoyed our visits. We do not ever do organized excursions because we like to explore the "real" culture. Overall a nice relaxing vacation, just wish the quality of food was better. Read Less

Very fun ship with a wide range of fellow travelers. We meant some very nice people from all over the country. The staff is amazing! Room Stewards, Dining Room ( Juan and company), bartenders (Erwin, Elwin and company). Clean ship. Everything is in great working order. Lots of activities for almost all ages but in my opinion, way too many Trivia games. It got a bit boring after the first couple of games in a couple of days. Biggest disappointment is the food. Bland at best and typically lukewarm at most. My fave was Tandoor as it was authentic and temp hot. Room service is not at it's finest. We were on Level 6 above the casino, hot tub and piano room, and about 6 cabins from the bank of elevators and had no noise issues. At our ages (52 and 55), we probably would not go on this same cruise but I think it's great for a younger crowd. Read Less

Carnival excursions are very well organized and expensive, but if you like the guarantee good experience is worth it. You can save money by searching ports on the internet. My Kids love cruising and we prefer to have them with us. We usually get them their own room so we can spread out a little more. This last cruise i went on we had the best life guards. Devin, Sanil, Tehn and Egly were awesome. They helped us have fun and deserve to be recognized. We would recommend sailing with carnival and we always port out of galveston. It is very convenient. The Breeze is a great ship with a good crew. We stayed on the Spa Deck to take advantage of the spa perks. Love the Thallasotherapy and the Thermal suites for total relaxation. Sorry to hear that Carnivals newer ships do not have all of these features. Embarkation and debarkation out of Galveston was smooth and easy.....much better than even a year ago. We were off the ship by 8 am and that was NOT carrying our luggage off. This ship has many things to do...especially on Sea days. You are only limited by what you are interested in. Food was better than some past Carnival cruises. Glad to see that they have brought back the "Baked Alaska Parade" in the main dining room. Cabin service was fantastic as was most other services....except the photo people. They are great at taking pictures but not so much in delivery. The last 2 days we were given 4 or 5 separate times that our package we had pre-ordered would be ready......and it never was until after 10PM the night before we returned.....too late to pack in luggage that had to be out by 10. All that considered...this was a great cruise. Sorry to see the Breeze leave Galveston but bring on the Vista !! Read Less

Only disappointment (NOT with Guy’s Burger) food was bland for us. Shoutout to: Dining team: Somchai, Ben and Yuparat — always greeted by name and attentive to our needs. We ensure that we were in their section, even if we had to wait. Room Steward: Jason — always greeted us by name. Refrigerator was not working properly and Jason was able to replace. Our shower was not draining and Jason got it serviced. Fun shop: Carlos & Rehan. So helpful in making our selection in jewelry. In fact EVERY ONE in this shop was fun to be around and knowledgeable. We had such a blast on our cruise. Everyone did such a wonderful job making sure we were having a good time, entertaining us, cleaning for us and making sure our food was prepared properly. Embarkation was perfect. We never waited in any lines and our cabins were ready when we got on board. We ended up departing a bit late out of Galveston due to an electrical issue. That caused our itinerary to go in reverse order but Carnival was great about letting us use the phones and call our non-Carnival excursions. Debarkation also went very smoothly, and was well organized. My only complaint with this process was standing in line trying to get through customs for about an hour and a half. If I could give anyone a shout out it would be Schwartz. He was absolutely amazing. He was personable, he was funny, he made you want to listen to the announcements and he was accessible. Honestly, I have no idea how he managed to get to all the things he was out in the time span’s that he did. We did have a meet and greet through Cruise critic on the breeze. Not that it was anybody’s fault, but they announced the itinerary change just as the meet and greet got started which caused everybody to be more focused on their excursions and their “what now.” Carnival did a great job with this too. This was a great itinerary and one I would absolutely do again. Thanks for listening. Read Less

First of all, special kudos to BEN, our waiter in the dining room, who remembered our names from the beginning, along with our drink preferences, and never lost his happy smile! Our room steward, RABBI, kept our room in pristine condition always; he even chased me down in the hallway at debarkation because I’d left my cell phone behind! Ugh...thanks to Rabbi!!! That said, food was a huge disappointment. (Guy’s Burgers, however, were off the charts!) I carried toothpicks at all times to unclog the salt shakers. People all over the ship were searching for good salt shakers. Sometimes we had to take the plug off the bottom to get any salt. Not many choices of food in the buffet, and breakfast is closed too early ship-wide. Good salad bar. Room service tuna sandwich was VERY good! We bought the internet premium package ... we were robbed. Slower than dial-up. We would highly recommend the Jolly Roger Catamaran Sail/Snorkel/Lunch in Roatan! Fabulous in every way! We thoroughly enjoyed most of our cruise, but we could rarely go out on our balcony due to the sewer gas smell. They claimed it was coming from the drain and they tried to resolve it, but the smell came back. It was very strong! The food and service in the dining room was excellent. We ordered room service once - a sandwich and a chicken quesadilla - both cold and not very fresh. Our cabin steward was not up to par from what we have had in the past. We requested 2 times per day, but we rarely got that. In fact, we didn't see our room steward at all the first day and by noon the 2nd day we still didn't see him. I had to call the purser to find out what was going on and the next thing I know, he was knocking at the door. In the past, most stewards clean between 8 and 9 in the morning and 6 to 8 at night. This guy wanted to clean around noon and around 10pm! We are early risers and early to bed so this didn't work with our schedule at all! Read Less

This was our first cruise and I am already planning next years. We needed a much over do vacation we stayed so relaxed came home regenerated. The only thing I would highly recommend buying one of the drink packages, you really don’t realize how much your drinking not just alcoholic drinks but soft drinks also. It is well worth the money. If you have children the have teen camps and kid camps and they put on the cutest show after the doctor suess parade. We never felt any rocking so never any motion sickness for our first cruise. We wanted to take our first cruise on Carnival, eight days in the western Caribbean, in order to compare with Royal Caribbean. We quickly learned that the Wi-Fi connection, which came in the very expensive drink/Wi-Fi package, was nearly useless. So slow that Carnival should be embarrassed that people have to pay for it. The all-inclusive drink package had so many exceptions that we wondered if there was any reason to buy it. The Blush dining room was beautiful and the waiters exceptional but, unfortunately, the food was not good and we stopped going after four nights. The balcony cabin was nice and our stateroom attendant was the best. Music of all different genres was available but seating was always in short supply. The standup comedy in the Limelight was very good but we discovered that getting there 30 minutes early was not enough. The fitness center, very important to me and my wife, was small, cramped, and hot. Before using it we had to endure presentations for facials and massages. Shore excursions were fine, especially Mahagony Bay. That was the best part of the trip. We found an internet coffee shop in Cozumel that served a nice double espresso and gave a free hour of high-speed connection — so we were able to catch up. We love cruises and would still do another on Carnival Breeze if the price and destinations were right. But — we would mentally prepare ourselves for the short comings. Read Less

Mainly chose this cruise to spend time with family. We received a very affordable upgrade to cabin 7205 which has a picture window looking over the bow of the ship directly beneath the bridge . Great cabin for an inside cabin price. Room steward was great as in all 5 previous carnival cruises. They really do a wonderful job. and always with a smile. We could feel a little more motion being so close to the bow. But agreed that we actually slept better because of it. Just a few steps from the cabin door is a doorway leading to pretty much a private deck that only goes across the front of the ship. So no thru traffic out there. Most of the time we had this area completely to ourselves. Also want to add that we booked our shark snorkel in Belize through Shore excursioneer. This is the second time we have booked with them and both times we shared the same equipment, boats ect. with others that booked with the cruise line. So same excursion better price. Like to give a special shout out to Stacy our tour guide. She was exceptional..... Also I believe her name is Janelly she was very personable and even let my daughter and I join her on the front deck of the boat as we moved around the island of caye caulker. . I had the chance to go on the Carnival Breeze cruise over the first week of April with my family. This was my first cruise and I was really impressed with how great it was. The day we boarded the boat was a little crazy and frustrating. After taking the eleven flights of stairs to our room because the elevators had a half an hour wait, we came up to our room to find that the card to our room didn’t work. So then we had the issue of getting the room keys, that were cards, to work. A couple hours later our room keys were finally fixed. Our room was so nice and had a few of the towels folded up like animals. The first two days, being sea days, was full of food and exercising. The buffets were way crowded and had just ok food. The cruise ship was really big and easy to get lost in the these first few days we were there. The gym was really difficult to find, but was well worth it. The gym had the latest and greatest exercising machines with probably over thirty treadmills all looking out the large windows facing the ocean. Our cruise director Lee Mason was the coolest guy and was constantly going from place to place doing funny shows and events. Dinner was very gorment and was served by the nicest waiters who managed to remember all our names for the whole week. The next three days we went to our destinations in central America. First stop was Cozumel, then Belize, and finally Honduras. Our first stop at Cozumel was by far my favorite. I may have got stung by a jellyfish and got a little sunburnt, but it had the best snorkeling and had the clearest water I’ve ever seen in my life. The next day was an exhausting day of zip lining and tubing through caves for our family of six. Belize was much more sketchy than I was expecting, but appeared to be under control by security. Roatan, Honduras was a very crowded beach with very strict rules. The snorkeling was really good if you managed to make it through some shallow coral to the deep drop off. The next two days were similar to the first two days, but I spent a lot more time sunbathing. The guy’s burger joint was my go to for those days last couple days on the boat. After the cruise was over and was docked in Texas the chaos started happening all over again. It took almost two hours to get on the bus and get going to the airport. The last day was a little crazy, but was well worth it since it was part of the cruise. Overall it was a great experience for me and my family. Read Less

We primarily cruise Royal Caribbean (RC) but this was our son's senior trip and we thought we would try the "Fun Ship". They have the O2 club for 15-17 year olds. My son and his friend did not really want to go....but I insisted they try it out. They ended up going there every evening! We kept comparing RC to Carnival. There are pros and cons. The embarkation was smooth. There were many elderly staff who were just thrilled to be there and guide you. The same goes for debarkation. No problems. Their muster drill was better too. We didn't have to put on the life jacket and go stand by the boats. Instead you are assigned to a designated area and they scan your card. If you're not there, they call your name over the PA system. Everyone had to be accounted for....then they demonstrated the life jackets and gave a brief presentation. Quick and easy. After we found our rooms. My husband and I went looking for the "main area" of the ship.....only to find out that we entered the ship on the main area! Very small compared to RC. I read other reviews about the deck lounge chairs and I agree......people hoarded them. I swear there were chairs with towels on them......and I never saw people there using them! Pools were small and always filled with young children. The adult "Serenity" area was nice...but only hot tubs. Also it was right by the large water works area....so not so serene with kids screaming. I feel that the ship was clean. There was also staff cleaning the bathrooms and picking up trash. We actually feel that our service was superb. I did read that others did not have the same experience. Our room attendant cleaned it 2x per day. Loved the towel animals. We had late dinner at 8:15pm. Our 3 servers were attentive to our needs. Found out that we like lemon wedges with our water and from then on they were always on the table when we got there. They also called us by our names which was nice. It terms of others saying there were small portions....did you know that you can order 2 or more of anything? My son ordered 2 appetizers and 2 main courses. Yes....I even ordered 2 desserts! All of us thought the food was great! The Mongolian Wok was good....but I had to wait 30 minutes in line to get it. One staff cooking with 3 woks for a ship of 4,800 people? Anything in the food area was a wait.......the Deli....breakfast or lunch buffet.....burgers. Long lines were frustrating. The "Fun Crew" made it fun with games and trivia. We played an adult game of Quest. You would never see that on RC. We laughed a lot! The entertainment shows consisted of the same 6-8 crew members. They tried their best. But I think it's not easy to dance and sing on key at the same time. The cruise director was great (Lee). He was all over the ship. We wondered how he was everywhere all the time. His announcement were appreciated but you did have to open your cabin door to hear them. Most likely it's because people might be sleeping/relaxing and they don't want to disturb you. We had to walk through the casino to get to parts of the ship. It actually made me feel sick to smell all the smoke from the smokers! There weren't many areas for them to smoke so I think they all were there.....lots of them. Also another review had stated the aft (back) of the ship smelled like sewage......I agree! It did! But after the first few minutes....you kinda got used to it and didn't smell it anymore. The comedian was excellent. Better than RC! Warning! Don't buy the discounted Invicta watches. We bought 3! One retailed $295 we purchased for $79.99.....found it on amazon for $50. Another retailed $495 purchased for $120 on amazon for $68...the last retailed $695 purchased for $140 and was $75 on amazon. We were thinking that Carnival would not try to "scam" people....what I learned after the fact was that the shops are independently ran by Starboard Cruise Services....(but we received a Carnival receipt).....we were caught up in the moment...there was a frenzy of people buying. We will know better next time. The actual crowd on Carnival was different from RC. A little more "rough around the edges". .. The photographers on the ship did an awesome job. They seemed to be professional photographers and posed you for the pictures. On RC it was click and done...just someone with a camera. So.....would we do Carnival again.....yes for the right price. But I still prefer Royal Caribbean. Read Less

This date and sailing were chosen for a family trip with three generations from 70 to 3 yrs of age. It was just close to PERFECT. Lee, the cruise director, was a key factor in creating a happiness environment. And the whole cast of entertainers and musicians and dancers was just wonderful. The two of us older ones were involved in nearly every activity possible and up till past 12:30 every night. The band, The Midas Touch, were wonderful (xoxo to Brandon- the lead male vocalist), The Calverts were super (would have only liked more selections suitable for slower dancing), MoTown show-- great, dancing on the Lido deck also great (even if we were the oldest there), the many opportunities for line dancing.... all these activities kept us moving and having FUN. Our steward, Fidel, was wonderful and so kind and efficient. The whole crew on the ship from the ropes course to the dining services to the guest service desk-- everyone was warm and friendly. WE were just amazed at the personal interactions and their ability to remember us BY NAME starting with day one! We enjoyed all the dining-- from buffet to Sapphire. We won a dinner for two to Farenheit Steak House and it was superior! We would not have chosen to go, but did and it was truly luxurious and exceptionally great food and service. This was our second cruise- first on Carnival- and our cabin was great-- spacious, loads of storage, wonderful window (far superior on all counts to our cruise on a different line and with same cabin grade. We will choose Carnival AGAIN! Loved all the activities for kids so parents could have their own time! Our grandkids LOVED going to the Kids clubs and the Night Owl. The HUB is an absolute must even if traveling alone because the ability to have a map or list of activities at touch was great! And for us, as a family of 9, we could communicate via chat and find each other. **INVESTIGATE WHAT YOUR INSURANCE WILL OR WILL NOT COVER MEDICALLY IF ON SHIP IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS. Our new friends across the hall had a medical emergency and all costs were put on her sign and sail card-- they would accept no insurance even for the ICU portion of their time in medical! OUCH! About the only points I have to offer for improvement are the following: 1. the internet purchase (the mid range plan) was useless. I could virtually never get on or stay on. 2. the Serenity Area (adults only) needs a system of having a check out system for the beds, chairs, and hammock ,etc... because there were people that got up there early and literally camped out in the accommodations for the whole day... never letting others have a chance. Some system of getting a hang tag that allows you one hour per item per person.... 3. the craft activity on the third sea day was completely age inappropriate for almost any of the kids... and it was described as cutting, pasting, etc-- for kids. It was an embroidery project that for most participants meant learning a new skill and one that could not be completed in the 45 minutes before we had to clear the area for a new activity. 4. The cost of drinks was reasonable... but the cost of bottled alcohol was out of sight. 5. have ice available on each floor.... or have ice buckets that can go to the room from the Lido Beverage station. 6. personally, we all learned that three days of shore excursions in a row is very exhausting... better to select an itinerary with a break in there somewhere. We loved the two sea days in a row. Read Less

This was our third time on the Breeze. Love the layout of the ship. Food is just average. Entertainment, just average to slightly below average. Still an overall good family vacation. The Embankment out of Galveston TX was much smoother and the personnel much friendly then when we sailed out of Miami on the Breeze. I thought the entertainment was below average and the food was nothing to write home about. Food menu has not changed much in three years and from night to night. The ship is overall clean and the staff work hard to be provide excellent service. We enjoyed the different ports of call (Cozumel, Belize and Honduras) this time then from Miami. I think Carnival provides good value for cruising, however if you are looking for superior food, service and amenities, you won't find it with carnival, it all depends on your budget and what your expectations are. We had a balcony and inside room and compared to Norwegian, these were large. Old Tv and very slow service on the tv. The employees were very nice. The steak and seafood restaurant are to die for. Order the oysters at the seafood restaurant and the artwork desert. Very cool presentation. We traveled with 4 teenagers 15-17 and they were bored a large portion of the time. Not enough for them to do. Pools were too full and the water slide lines extremely long. They close the basketball court from 530-1130 daily and all the games are 18+ (for dodgeball??) there was a bad smell a good portion of the time off the back of the boat. Massage was $180 and pedicure $85 before tip. Buffet had the same food each day which got old fast. The shows were good but Hasbro for example, was all about small children. My teens got bored quickly. Would recommend another boat or cruise line for traveling with teenagers. Read Less

we loved our cruise on the carnival breeze. the ship has a lot of activities, great crew and good food choices. crew- the staff was great. our room steward was very helpful. the cruise director and entertainment team were really good. food- we enjoyed all of the included food venues. loved Tandoor, Blue Iguana, and the wok. the food in the MDR was also really good. the only issue was some days the service was really slow (2 hours for dinner) deck 5- nice location with additional whirlpools (others deck 10) and lounging chairs and chess. also, the bbq restaurant is on this deck. pools- the pools were a bit small and always crowded. embarkation- it was really quick and easy. very impressed with the efficient process at galveston. entertainment/ activities- comedy shows were good. but, the limelight lounge is really small and many shows were standing room only. the playlist shows were pretty good not great. the clue murder mystery was ok, but, not that great. we could've skipped it since there is only 1 winner. we enjoyed the sports area- ping pong, pool, track, bball, and track. ports- cozumel, roatan, belize. all ports were fun. tendering in belize creates some issues because it limits time for the excursion. We chose this cruise because my sister wanted one in April and she hadn't seen some of the ports I told her about. It was Cozumel, Mahogany Bay, and Belize. The overall cruise was great. We had a spa room for the first time--it wasn't what I expected, much smaller. The cruise director was different than the one 6 months earlier..I wasn't crazy about his style of entertainment as compared to the other one. The nightly entertainment in the Atrium was great. Food was awesome, though not many choices for dessert. Wait staff excellent. Our room was another story. I don't know about the rest of the bathroom but our toilet was not cleaned until the 3rd day of the cruise. I took my showers in the spa. Our floor didn't get swept the entire week--we deliberately placed little pieces of paper and string on the floor to see if it was getting vacuumed and it wasn't. The beds were made and towels were brought daily. We had to ask for our spa robes, which supposedly come with the room. My husband complained of the bed feeling like it had a board running through the middle of it and he wasn't getting any sleep , and on the 4th day when couldn't take it any more he lifted up the mattress and found 3 large towels folded up and placed in the center of the box spring. When we told housekeeping they said it was placed there to keep the mattress from sagging. Six months ago when we cruised this ship we had some housekeeping issues too but nothing this bad. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary, and port locations. I made the mistake of thinking all "spring breaks" would be over this last week of March. I was wrong. Note to everyone, do not cruise in March, unless you have kids and love kids. I was shocked how many kids were on this cruise. The lack of parenting was atrocious. Ship is just like the "Magic" with a little different decor and a few different restaurant choices. Entertainment wasn't that great. However, The "Lip Sync Battle" final production on Saturday was fun to watch. Bar Service was great. Smile, be nice, be patient and you will get good service. Reverse all that and I can assure you, you will not get good service. Cruise director Lee was good. We enjoyed his antics. I have to give a shout out to "Laz" from England. He was on the "Fun Staff" He should and deserves to be a Cruise Director. He was fantastic and very entertaining. Always had a huge, happy crowd at his activities. Also, Miss "Iowa" .... was superb as well. Sorry I can't remember her name. Thank you Galveston for changing the 'embarkation' procedures. it is much easier to get thru the process and onto the ship now, especially if you have 'Faster to the Fun' or are a V.I.P. Platinum, or Diamond member. I will say this though..... the Luggage guys could care less if you have the FTTF tags. they come and get delivered with all the other luggage. No priority, separation, or faster delivery. I think we are just burnt out on cruises, we've been on 5 in the last 4 years. Would I go again? Not anytime soon..... probably not Carnival either. This was my first cruise. My wife and I decided to plan a trip for our son that is graduating this year. We booked well in advance along with several other families, 25 people in all. Carnival made it very easy to book our rooms and be in close proxmity. We selected the early dining time of 6:00 PM. The first night at dinner we where scattered across 4 tables. We mentioned this to the staff and for the rest of the trip we all were upgraded to Saphire Room and all 25 sat at one table for the rest of the cruise. The rooms and ammenities of the ship surpassed all my expectations. There is so much to do and see on the ship that we had to make it a point to check in with our travel companions or you could go several days without bumping into each other. Our cruise visited three ports on the trip; Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico. Montego Bay, Jamaica. Jamaica was the biggest disappointment of our entire trip; within 10 minutes of leaving port our bus driver stopped the bus and his assistant requested 25 dollars per person to guarantee our safety as the area was currently in a "State of Emergency". The bus continued and eventually stopped in a shopping district. At this point we requested to be let off and the bus driver closed the door on us, our group was rather large and we were able to force our way off the buss and paid to enter a private resort near the bus. The Grand Cayman's surpassed all our expectations and hope to return in the future. We never felt pressured on the Island and everyone in our group participated in a snorkeling trip. We couldn't have been more impressed by the people and the beauty. Cozumel was also fun as we rented Jeeps and felt completely safe on our own and the people there and awesome. We did do some snorkeling and enjoyed shopping. I would book this trip and recommend it to all my friends with the one suggestion that they DON'T GET OFF THE SHIP IN JAMAICA. Read Less
