Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Star

Embarkation: fast and easy. Sat on stairs for 30 minutes waiting for Versailles to open at noon. Nice lunch. Had evening meals most of time here. Aqua room quite noisy and staff not as attentive. Shows: fantastic. Professional. No crew or cruisers filling nights. O'Sheehans: you must be seated by hostess if you want to get waited on. Bars: differ in recipes, but they do at home too. Prime times ...

Norwegian went above and beyond!

My husband and I sailed on the Norwegian Star out of Tampa last week. We are 24 and 30 years old. We sailed with his parents and several friends of the family. This was our first cruise with Norwegian, having previously sailed with Carnival. I had read several very negative reviews about recent sailings on this ship and was concerned. However, my expectations were greatly exceeded! The staff were ...

My family has cruised NCL in the past 3 times, both with our teenage kids and my husband and I alone. This time we opted to go out of Tampa as we had never been. The cruise port was easily accessible, the check in was super quick and easy. The rain started shortly after we boarded, which was okay. The music was playing, the food and drinks were flowing, the staff was friendly and ...

Star Shines for New Years

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Star

This is our 3rd cruise--2 with Norwegian and 1 with Carnival. We are a blended family of 7 and navigate School Holidays in order to find the perfect cruise fit. In early December we decided that since all of our kids would be together after Christmas until school resumed on 1/4 that a New Years Cruise would be a great way to spend some quality time together. Our Criteria was that we wanted a 7 ...

Wonderful family vacation, but don't expect enthusiastic service.

My family spent New Years on a beautiful ship with all the trappings---beautiful ship, bountiful food, entertainment galore, and activities non-stop. Our family suite was well appointed, spacious and tastefully decorated. It lacked nothing except a balcony, but the trade off of more space compensated. I found the public spaces inviting and comfortable. The food was good, but didn't overly impress. ...

"NO"Wegian Cruise Line

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Star

Say NO to going on the "NO"wegian Star. Eight of our family sailed for this New Years cruise and won't ever consider "NO"wegian Cruise Lines as an option. To begin with, our family members are frequent cruisers so we are not new to the quirks of cruising. Our experience on the Star was simply unacceptable. For the most part the dining room staff were miserable, incompetent, and at many times ...

We were travelling as a family of 15 people from Canada for a New Year's Eve cruise. There as a 6 year old and the rest were ranging in age from 17-86. We were three brothers with their children and grandparents. We all flew to Tampa a couple of days before departure and stayed at the Embassy Suites Westport. I would highly recommend this hotel. It has a free shuttle from the airport and it ...

Read the reviews before going on this cruise, so it was pretty much what I expected. Cabin (we were on the 5th deck) was okay, enough room for 2 people, comfortable bed but nothing fancy. Could use some updating - red carpet, blue doors and green bed skirts, talk about colour clash. Bathroom was quite spacious for a cruise ship. Surprisingly efficient hair dryer (ladies will appreciate it). Our ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Star

When looking at cruises on NCL web site, it came with 4 free offers. When I called to book. whoop No. I booked 30 to 31 days prior to sailing. No free offers even if the web site said there was. Ok, not a deal breaker for me. My issues started on the ship itself. 1) We were celebrating husbands BDAY. Booking agent said he would have a cake in his room for the occasion. Not so, I asked the room ...

No to Norwegian Star

First, the NCL cruise and It was not an amazing experience!! I would not recommend the Norwegian Star!!! For our first cruise, I am totally disappointed with the lack of service, and the lack of Compassion in accommodating their guests!! The first day of embarkation, our keys were not coded correctly and could not get into our room cabin, so I headed to guest services, which the line was a mile ...
