My family spent New Years on a beautiful ship with all the trappings---beautiful ship, bountiful food, entertainment galore, and activities non-stop. Our family suite was well appointed, spacious and tastefully decorated. It lacked nothing except a balcony, but the trade off of more space compensated. I found the public spaces inviting and comfortable. The food was good, but didn't overly impress.
The major deficiency is in the lack of services in the food and beverage areas. The service lacked any special touched. It was acceptable but undistinguished. The bar keeps made excellent drinks but did so in a mechanical, professional fashion with very little panache. It may have been the lack of their ability in the English language (or that they were overly busy at times and seemed understaffed) but they made very little effort to banter or build rapport. They would struggle to survive at your local pub if tips were made on the level of service. The dining staff did a professional job but didn't do it with style or with any flourishes---acceptable but unremarkable. They seemed understaffed, overly busy and undertrained. The maître d's did very little to make the dining exceptional. They never helped the struggling waitstaff or conversed with the diners, The whole dining experience (especially at the specialty restaurants) need to be taken up a notch if they want to impress. Dining needs to be an experience.
I give them a C- on the service; passable but unremarkable. The only impressive service came from housekeeping and in the spa. Our butler (Melody), housekeeper (Jennifer), and butler (Chris) were all delights.
Excellent! Great value. Three of us slept very comfortably except for all the joggers overhead.
Long bus ride but worth it. Authentic jungle experience. Family loved it.
Great way to see island. Snorkeling was just OK. Liked the dune buggy experience but it was on public roads---don't expect dunes.
No excursion but liked Mariott Waterfront.
Beach just OK at West End, Daughter liked the fish pedicure.
