Carnival's web site, both before and after our cruise stated that parking was $17 a day at Long Beach, CA. However, parking was $19 a day. For long cruises, this could impact your choice of transportation. It should take less time to update a web site than to update signage and automation at the parking structure. In addition, we arrived early, and could only find parking on the top floor of the parking structure. We did not see any other reasonable options for parking. Good luck. We cruised on the Carnival splendor. The decor was the worst of any ship on any line that we have ever experienced. Decks 3 and 4 have no access from one end of the ship to the other, so one is far too frequently going to the other end of the ship to use just the right elevator to reach your destination. The only good ship's map was in the Carnival Hub app on my iPhone. We never found a single good printed map. However, if your iPhone is set to the wrong time zone, the Hub app will give you the wrong time of day while claiming to be a good reference for the time -- beware. Entertainment was good (with nice costumes for the ladies) provided that you liked music from the 80's -- each and every show had music from the 80's. Food was good, and our wait staff in the main dining room was superb (especially Stanislava from Bulgaria). For a ship with over 3,000 passengers, embarkation and disembarkation was well done. The cruise director, MarQ, did a great job of setting up and handling disembarkation, so we knew progress and could remain comfortably seated until we could get off Read Less

had the most day at sea for short cruise the ship is over all clean but it needs to be redone. The cabin sofa and chair need replaces old . Balcony needs complete remake floors , windows rails dirty rooms and public rooms all outdated. The food is awful they need a better quality of food on the daily portion of the menu chicken breast in a frozen chicken breast grill, awful. The breads at dinner main dinning room are to die for.The service we had in the pairs dinning room 1st seating table was great. Most everyone was helpful .I don't think I will not go on this ship again it was not one of my most fun and I have gone out of new Orleans twice and this will be my final time it is not the greatest port and the weather in feb is almost always bad cold or rainy.overall I give it a 3 stars Read Less

Had a great start to our trip with Cocoa Beach Shuttle despite our late arrival into MCO, and a good night's sleep. That's about the last good thing I have to say. I will not go on this ship again. The interior layout of the ship and the ventilation system caused most of the public spaces any where near the atrium to feel of smoke from the casino, which was filled with smokers due to the inadequate and totally exposed smoking areas outside. I use a mobility scooter and was restricted to using the Lido deck to go outside because there were no doors I could get through on my own because there were no automatic doors. The Lido buffet was tiny and the staff (except one) was far more interested in socializing than being helpful. The Cucina del Capitan might have been good but we didn't try it because it smelled so strongly of the JiJi Asian restaurant. The staff in the main dining rooms were attentive. We were delayed in our arrivals in several ports for no apparent reason (sitting in the sea for several hours) and had to cancel several day's shore excursions. I won't mention the ongoing sewer problems in the 6th deck forward. From the mildew and mold smells this won't be fixed until she goes to drydock. Don't bring a Service Animal on this ship. Some off the tiniest cabins I've ever seen. Read Less

We chose this cruise at the last minute as we had to cancel the one for Norwegian Dawn that set sail 2 weeks later due to work. We prefer 5 to 7 day cruises as you have more time to peruse the ship and all that it offers. However, since this was our second time aboard the Liberty, we thought we would be just fine. We had a balcony room on the 11th deck and had the wonderful room steward Lareston. He asked us our preferred times for room service (I had never been asked this before) and tried his best to accommodate. However, with 2 teenagers in and out of the room, it was a challenge for him but he managed. Loved the balcony (although it showed its age a bit), and what needed to work in the room did. We loved our dining crew in the MDR (Golden Olympian), although the food was "meh." It lacked a bit of flavor. But because of our waitstaff, we ate dinner every night in the MDR, which is a rare feat for us. Elegant night was okay, although now on Carnival, most people seem to opt out of dressing up. We did not go ashore in Nassau, so I cannot comment on that experience. Entertainment was fine; my husband loves the casino and trivia, so that's a 5 star rating for him. We did not see the shows like Flick ( previously seen on Magic) only caught one comedian Caroline Prickard (sp?) for her family show and she was hilarious. Overall, good ship. Read Less

This was our 6th cruise and our first with Carnival. This was a cruise for my 67th birthday. We drove to Port Canaveral and parked at The Park Port Canaveral lot behind the Radisson Hotel, which was reserved online. The embarking was the best ever as was the disembarkation. We always carry our own luggage off the ship. Our cabin was 8384, a balcony cabin that was lovely. It had tons of storage and a large balcony that had comfortable chairs and a table. Our cabin attendant Lasta was the best ever and made sure that our room was cleaned twice a day. The food on the ship was delicious and again the best out of all of cruises. The variety of restaurants that were complimentary was amazing. My favorite was the steak and eggs on the last day brunch in the main dining room. Our waitress, Windy table 128 was excellent. She welcomed us by name and knew what we liked and disliked after the first day. Truly the friendliest. most respectful; and professional staff we have ever seen on a cruise line. We sound out the day of the cruise that we could have brought an 18 pack of soda on board. That would have been nice to have known. Ok now for the warning: the ventilation system on the ship doesn't appear to have been updated to remove cigarette smoke from the air. I suffer from asthma and could not attend the shows in the main theater due to the presence of smoke in the theater. The staff said that it was because of the proximity to the outside smoking and the casino. These were areas that I also, had to avoid. So, WARNING TO ASTHMA suffers...this is not a ship for you. Many areas smell of smoke and if it is something that sets off an asthma attack - then avoid this ship. Another younger passenger was having the same problem. We did feel that the ship was populated by a lot of young passengers (20's) that were there to drink and party. With that in mind I would not want any of my grandchildren on this ship. There were many x rated exhibitions by the revelers and the hot tubs were overrun by passionate couples. Guess I will have to stick with Princess and Royal Caribbean and Norwegian in the future. We have cruised with carnival since 2011 and have usually had very good service with no complaints until now. It seems that carnival is changing things to make more money for them with less options for us. Slowly we have seen things change, first was no more robes in the rooms, on this cruise all of the TV stations had been changes. There are 25 channels, 16 of those are for carnival to try to sell you excursions or future cruises, 3 are cnn, the only news was of Donald Trump, HLN from California, 3 cartoon channels, and 3 old movie channels that plays the same movies over and over. Where are the channels from ABC, CBS, or NBC? We don't even ask for all, just one to get news from the southern US where most of us are from. Also the room service has changed, now to order room service after 10pm your only option is to order something that you have to pay for, you can't just order a sandwich and chips, also more money for carnival. When I went down to guest services the people in line at the diamond and platinum line were red and blue cards and I had to wait behind them(we are platinum) carnival will never say anything to them. Also , calling diamond and platinum to disembark first is a joke, red, blue, and gold cards come thru the back door of the restaurant where there is no carnival employee to stop them. These were not suite, or faster to the fun guest. Read Less

The Carnival Victory was a disappointment from the time we got on board. There were major mechanical problem. Four of the 6 hot tubs were not in working order, the food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. You have to pay $20 extra for filet or lobster tail. so it is not really all inclusive. The ship was in dry dock for almost 3 weeks prior to our cruise, You would expect things to be in tip top shape. Many of the public rest rooms were out of service and the ones that were open were filthy. When I tried to talk to guest services regarding my concerns - I was told to call 1-800-Carnival when I got home!! The on board entertainment was good. Only bright spot on the cruise. Embarkation was a nightmare because the ship was not ready at the scheduled time. Even though the ship had an over haul it is still dated. Read Less

This was my second cruise with Carnival, and we had a great time as expected. The service was outstanding. Most of all we want to give a shout out to several crew members: Thuthisa and Sanja-servers in the Saphire dining room, Glenn-server at the Red Frog Pub, and Arnata-our cabin host. These folks truly made our trip such a delight; we will deeply miss seeing them, and we will cherish all the memories of the laughs we shared night after night. I am not a big snob about decor so we can sum it up as clean and beautiful. The food was good. We stuck to eating mostly in the dining room, but we also tried Guy's burgers a few times, and we have no complaints. Carnival ships are all about having fun, and they do a great job of giving you the opportunity to stay engaged. As far as the cruise ports... I hated Jamicia. The Montego Bay port runs a racket for duping tourists. We asked for a cab to take us to Doctors Cove and were shown to a small bus that charged 7.00. Once on the bus and driving, we were informed that we would not be going to Doctors Cove. Instead, they were offering for 11.00 more than the 14.00 fair to a souvenir shop and back, they would take us all around to several places so that we can experience Jamicia to the fullest and we would also go to a "much more beautiful" beach than the crowded tourist destinations. At this point, you were already stuck paying 14.00, so it didn't sound so bad. What ended up happening was we stopped at a shop with a bunch of crap made in China, drove halfway up a driveway and looked at a former plantation house (but we never went up to the house), sat in a hot, crowded bus as we went through a part of town that was not safe for tourists, and ended up at a beach that we had to pay 5.00 each to get in and had broken glass everywhere and garbage strewn about. I highly recommend you book a cruise excursion. You've been warned. The Cayman Islands If you like to shop, this place is for you, but the island dollar is worth more than USD so prepare to pay a bit more for your souvenirs. The snorkeling part of our Pirate Boat excursion was canceled due to high winds, but we made the most of the open bar and had a good time nonetheless. Cozumel We had the most fun here. The locals are friendly, there is a lot of stuff to explore around the ports, and we booked a private excursion of horseback riding for over two hours through the jungle and to Mayan ruins. I can't wait to revisit Cozumel. Overall, I have no complaints about the ship or Carnival Cruise lines. As for the ports, we should have booked more excursions. Lesson learned. Read Less

The whole 7 day trip was extremely rough sailing. We had been in a very bad storm on the Valor that experience was the Breeze's best day. We were rushing from port 2 port long time cruisers were complaining about how bad it was and that they wouldn't ride the breeze again. Food was ok a lot of it was salty this included Guy's & Capitono. One coffee shop on the boat. There are not enough hand washing stations on this ship.We ended up having a ship full of extremely sick people. A huge bug was going around the ship it ended up being flu and strep after seeing a Dr. They locked down the cruise director and certain staff from interacting with cruisers. The staff walking around with facial masks. It was very aggravating becuz they didnt tell passengers of the sickness so they could try to prevent it. Room steward was great! Read Less

We just got off the Sunshine and overall it was an amazing cruise despite a few hiccups. The good -Staff was very friendly and attentive. They worked very hard to keep the ship clean. We had an unexpected sea day. Our port was canceled due to tender issues/conditions and staff had to work hard to keep everyone happy. They did an amazing job. Shout out to our room steward Rosa who did an amazing job. -The upgraded restaurants were well worth the extra money. Because if was my hubby's birthday we decided to go to one of the for charge restaurants. We ended up at the Italian restaurant because we had our 3 year old. 100% worth the $35 extra dollars. The steak and salmon we ordered were amazing! The Tiramisu alone was worth the $15 up charge. It was delicious and I will visit this restaurant again even with the up charge. -Ship had a lot of great features. We loved the water works slides, the outdoor movies and serenity deck. The not so good -On sea days, especially in the afternoon the lido area could get crowded. Luckily we would retreat to other areas of the ship that were more quite. -We had a few hiccups. This is the first time we sailed with out "Faster to Fun" and boy did we miss it. Due to weather issues the ship was late of arrival, our room took much longer to be ready and we didn't see our luggage until about 7 pm. Also, due to weather we were unable to port at Half Moon Cay which we were really looking forward too. These issues were outside the scope of a normal cruise and for the most part the staff handled the change in plans well. However, it was just a bummer to have these hiccups occur The ok -Debarkation was just rough, long lines and it seemed very disorganized. I think this had way more to with the port and less to do with the ship. We really missed Long Beach an how quickly the debarkation process can be. -Food overall was ok, nothing really amazing other than the for charge restaurant. There were items we enjoyed but nothing that was really awesome Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation and the ports we did get to visit (Nassua & Freeport). We went on our own at Nassua and visited Junkano Beach (about 15 minutes walk from the port) and booked an executioner for Freeport (Bahama Adventures - Family Beach Day Package). We really enjoyed our days on ship and at the beach. The only down side is that it ended way too soon. Read Less
