Just back from our short cruise on the Liberty. I am a Platinum with Carnival, have been cruising with them for years. The last past two years we did cruise with Royal Caribbean, on the Oasis and then the Harmony because we wanted to cruise on the BIG ships. Anyway...we are booked on the Mardi Gras on 01/02.21 already. Now why I am writing this. We were not pleased at all with this last cruise. The only thing clean was our cabin. People that also traveled with us were not as lucky as we were with their cabin. The food was really bad, service was terrible. We have never had any of this before. In the dining room it took forever for our food to come and when it did it was not hot at all. The portions have been reduced to nothing at all. I mean my vegetable was broccoli, I had "one" little piece not as big as my thumb on my plate! As I said the food was not good at all. What a change from before when I use to brag about Carnival to others and got them to go on their ships. No more lobster nights either ! ! ! The buffet on the lido deck was no better, food was not hot and was NOT good. The BBQ was burnt and tasteless. The bake beans ...YUCK! Now we have had Guy's BBQ on other cruises and it was the best. Not this cruise. Each time we got Pizza it was brunt too (black Crust), hardly any cheese and toppings. The wonderful shows that Carnival use to put on are no more. The games and the Fun all gone. I have talked to a few relatives and friend's since getting back and they agree with me. Carnival has changed and not for the better. Since we are booked on the Mardi Gras next year we will give Carnival one more chance. Hopefully they will wake up. This is no way to keep them coming back like we have been doing for years and we take at lest one cruise a year. If the Mardi Gras disappoints us like this last cruise we will forever go with other cruise lines and tell others about how Carnival has forgotten about the FUN, and Value that they were know for. Clean up your ships, bring back the FUN to your cruises and PLEASE go back to your out of this world Food that you use to have. Read Less

The last dinner (Valentine’s Day) with my family was almost ruined by our waiter... He forgot a lot of items ordered and got most of the Entrées completely wrong. He was too busy talking to the table full of ladies instead of giving his full attention to our table. But other than that everyone (expect for the last waiter) on the ship was great. Rooms were clean, Hallways were clean, and Restrooms in the main lobby areas were clean. The Cruise Director TJ was awesome!!! His personality is incredible. If TJ’s name is on the Cruise Ship Details while planning our next Cruise Vacation, it will make it way much to say YES!!! and book it! My wife and I enjoyed his Lip Sync Battle performance. I was hilarious! We booked 2 Excursions through Carnival and 2 Massages. The Excursions were great! 1 of the 2 Massages was great. I will never book a Swedish Massage again. Debarking was a bit of a hassle which made us late to pick up our four-legged child from where we had him boarded. But I will be booking another cruise soon! Read Less

I think this carnival cruise is pretentious type. I was not really impressed with their buffet menu, especially their breakfast. They have app to check the program, where to eat and chat with other passengers. Unfortunately, for chatting feature was not working most of the time for us so it was a waste of time. The breakfast are flat and boring. Sometimes in their app showing that their buffet is open but when you get there, there was signs that the buffet is closed. In the rainy/wet weather, even worse. There was not enough good entertainment / activities that is fun. The water will in the slides are not heated so at the top deck, it was windy & cold. I also lost one of my AirPod and report it almost every day but no update was given. When we were leaving, we supposed to receive letter / memo to advised our checkout zone but many of us never received any. In the fine dining area, only on the last day they show us the kids menu. I think they have to train their staff much better in the customer service. Before we sailed, I had some inquiries over the phone but again the customer service agent hang up on me before I finish my inquiries. Read Less

We chose this cruise because the family took our mother-in-law who is 88 on a cruise. She did not want to be gone for more than 5 days. Rist was everywhere on the ship, this was a bit disconcerting. There was only one good entertainment, the violin players, Isabel and Juan. The Piano Bar singer was the worst. The dancers tried and did a good job with what they had to work with. The theatre had minimal props and entertainer support. The costumes were dull and looked like 2nd had store leftovers. The dining room food was flavorless and took a very long time to arrive. My favorite, the chocolate melting cake, was always room temperature and doughy. Overall, despite the above, it was a good cruise as my mother-in-law had a wonderful time. She had not been on a cruise before so she did not have anything to compare. Read Less

This is a ship that isn’t a big topic on the boards (unless there was something to complain about it seemed) so I am happy to add some information to future cruisers considering the Elation or some info for those of you already booked! To give some context for my review – on this cruise it was myself and husband (both 45) and our 16 yo daughter. This was our 6th Carnival and 7th cruise. We are big fans of travel – multiple All-Inclusive trips throughout Mexico, Cuba, VRBOs in Mexico and 20+ trips to Las Vegas filling our cold Canadian passports. We booked this trip to follow our 5 Day adventure in Disneyworld. The ship and itinerary were the only ones that worked into the schedule so that was the one and only reason we booked this ship. We booked directly with Carnival via the website – no PVP or other agent used for our planning. We travelled on our 5 Day from Port Canaveral to Amber Cove and Grand Turk. We stayed in cabin U243 – an extended Aft Balcony, our first in this category. We normally stay in a regular balcony. Over All Impressions (as it is pretty long below): • Staff were fantastic, super engaging, hard working and always had a “Good Morning” or “Good Evening” as we walked by • The ship is clean, sure its older and ready for dry dock to tighten up a few things but no complaints at all on the cleanliness or the state of the public areas or staterooms • Food and drink were awesome and plentiful – YTD worked great • Casino was fun but smoky • Didn’t attend any big shows – but everywhere we looked people seemed entertained and happy Read Less

Let me start by saying the best part of my cruise was my housekeeper Tony, he was awesome. The bad Had a handful of rude crew members, bars were way under staffed, slide shut down, 1 pool shut down ( the quiet kid free pool ), customer service stations seemed to be closed more then open, ask crew about something and get wrong answer or a I dont know, Your Time Dining restaurant wasnt what we expected. 2 hrs plus for dinner after sitting down, took forever just to get a beverage at dinner, portions were portions for children so we learned to double everything we ordered. Plates and food thrown out in hallway from room service I suspect, left there for long periods of time. If on Lido deck and you were drinking alcohol you were treated differently then if you ordered a soda. If you ordered a soda they seemed to take their sweet time, look of disgust by them and I assume because Gratuities were not put on them if you had the soda package like alcohol if you had the Cheers package. Before booking I was looking at Royal Caribbean cruise lines and even called about Alcohol Package, wife dont drink I told them and they were willing to just let me purchase Alcohol package, Carnival when I called after booking due to liking the Itinerary better was told, no, anyone in room over 21 has to purchase as well. Told them wife doesnt drink was told it didnt matter. I knew I wasnt gonna drink $500.00+ plus of beer so I had to buy beer by beer to the tune of almost $8.00 a beer. It was my 1st cruise and prolly the last with Carnival. Half Moon Cay was awesome tho. Read Less

My wife called this cruise the best vacation we have ever been on. Our goal was to relax. We ditched the kids and did just that. Where there snafu's? Absolutely. Weather was too bad to disembark at princess cays. That's life on a ship and those things happen. I can't believe how small people get when life happens. Some of the passengers lost their stuff about having their shore excursions canceled and not being refunded instantly. We had our money credited to our account the next day. The food was good at the buffet, main dining and great at the specialty restaurants. the ships cleanliness was good for a vessel with that many passengers in an environment that is not hospitable. Personally watched the decks scrubbed every evening and carpets steam cleaned in our cabin hallway. We enjoyed the 2 shows we caught, 70 & 80s rock review and latin night. The 2 comedians were fantastic. Our biggest complaint was the casino. It is the only interior location where smoking is allowed and we couldn't even walk through it, let alone gamble. We will definitely go again. One word about some of these negative reviews, people really need to relax. It is a ship that has roughly 3-4k people on it every day in an environment that is not friendly to any material, metal, plastic, cloth, etc. This is not a brand new ship. This ship is not in perfect condition. Negative people will say negative things on these reviews and to the customer service reps on board. I feel sorry for them. We went on board with a good carefree attitude, if you do the same, you'll enjoy your vacation. Being on the ocean means you have to be flexible and you may not get to do everything you want, but your attitude will make this a good or bad experience. Read Less

This was a family cruise with ages from 18 to 83. We booked the Jamaica and Grand Cayman as it was originally planned for grandsons graduation present. To start with, we booked this cruise over a year ago, and without notice our itinerary was changed from Jamaica to Cuba. Well we did not want to go to Cuba so we had to change our dates from January to Feb, which was the first disappointment, as there were two birthdays to be celebrated in January. We had 5 cabins, two inside, two balcony and 1 ocean suite. Everyone was happy with the redecoration of the cabins. The only complaint was about the balconies. There are really small and hard to even sit on at times. Even our ocean suite balcony was small and they had a huge lounge chair on it, so we could barely walk around on it. A lounger, two chairs and a table. In the suite the TV was on the side wall and was not able to be swung out so that if you wanted to watch it while in bed , it was almost impossible. TV selections were at a minimum. Only one news channel and it was CBSN, crap. Could not turn off the closed caption, it was on all the time and covered the middle of the screen. The sound was unpredictable, it would be so loud at times and then not loud enough to even hear when you stood in front of it. The closet doors kept banging back and forth, as the ocean was a little rough on this trip. They have updated the rooms with plenty of usb ports, so it was easy to keep phones charged. Our cabin steward was great, kept room clean and always kept our ice bucket full. Loved her. The chat app, was useful for all of us to keep in touch and find each other. The paid for internet was sparse in places and you would think if you paid for internet the chat app would be free,, but it was another $5. Food int he buffet was not good. Breakfast scrambled eggs were terrible. Bacon was good. There was always a long line and it closed at odd times. The deli and Guys burgers were great. Although the last day or so the fries were so spicy they were difficult to eat. The dining room service was good, food was mostly good. Elegant night surf and turf was offered for a $20 upcharge. I ordered it, very small but delicious filet and 1/2 of an undersized lobster tail. I couldn't believe it was a half instead of a whole tail. I will say the food was very good in dining room except for the 1/2 tail. I ordered a bloody mary for breakfast one morning in the DR, it came without a straw. I understand the big deal about saving the environment, and I do recycle everything possible, but I asked for a straw and was told no, I could not have one. I made reservations at the Italian restaurant for a special occasion dinner for 10 people, plus a baby that needed a highchair. The table they put us at was unacceptable as the high chair was sitting in the middle of the aisle when I asked to be moved to another table, that was in the back of the restaurant, the hostess said no. With no explanation as to why not. After I went back to her and explained that I was a travel agent and that I was not happy with the amount of no's I was receiving on this cruise every time I asked for something and that I would be writing a review when I got home. She told me to go to the other table and she was rude, but at least we got to move to the other table and enjoyed the great food. The appetizers were served family style and I think we got some of every one they had. The entrees were very good. It was worth the $155 that it costs. The wine list could have been better, but the wine we ordered was good. If you have priority boarding or disembarkation be aware they have changed the rules and only the ones in the suite or in your cabin are allowed to use it. No one else in your party is allowed. We had a 18 year old in our group. There were really no activities for him. We knew he could not drink, but the basketball court closed at like 5pm. The pool table was unusable as the ship was rocking so much the balls kept rolling all over the place. The small pools were always crowded and could never find a seat anyway. There were no nightclubs for planned activities for him. It was a little disappointing as Carnival boasts it has so many things for kids, but only if you are 17 and under. I felt the cruise staff was very pushy always trying to get you to buy a drink, jewelry, art or spa. The ship was very crowded and everything included a line and long wait. Would I cruise on this ship again. Probably not. As a travel agent it is hard to suggest this type of cruise unless you know for sure the person knows what it is really like. Read Less

My first cruise! Everything went well except for an excursion ( Isla Rotan) that was not clearly explained. I thought that snorkeling would be supervised and found out the hard way that it was not. Nor was it explained in the description. I learned so much that I can rely on my travel clients. The entire staff was so nice and accommodating. it was my girlfriends' first cruise as well. We really enjoyed the experience and plan to go again.l plan to recommend this cruise to my travel clients as well. The food did not disappoint even though there were not any vegan/vegetarian choices. I will just have to cleanse when I return home. Any maintenance problems were addressed immediately. It was the perfect size ship for a first cruise, at least for me, Ports were very nice and kept up well. Approximately 1200 passengers, so it was not congested. I will go on another cruise with Carnival. Our room was just off the elevator, so we could hear all the noise. I would opt for a room away from the elevator on my next trip. embarkation and disembarkation went well and was smooth. to sum it up, read and ask questions about your excursions and what you are allowed to bring on the ship. This was our 7th carnival cruise. Embarksion PRO: was smooth and quick. Headed up to the lido deck for lunch at Guys Burger until 1:30 when we had access to our cabin. CON: employees scanning were rude to folks not going quick enough and barking orders. Cabin PRO: typical layout of previous trips and room size with balcony. Liked the ability to control the thermostat! Beach towel were in room for excursion. Daily newsletter each day. CON: No conditioner in shower.....just shampoo and body wash.ended up spending $10 for conditioner from the shops. Steward asked if we preferred morning or evening room turndown/ cleanup. This surprised us as it was always both in the past. We requested both which was then granted. Watch the blue beach towel -we had to ask where they went as she removed from the room and didn’t return until we asked for them back (note: you will be charged for missing towels). APP PRO: loved the APP to see what’s going on tru out the ship. Able to make dinner reservations at specialty restaurants as well as “ your time dining in main restaurant” via app. Ability to purchase photos. Book shore excursions. This is a must to download! So easy to use. CON: times were off on a few events. Not able to see spa services or book a spa service thru the app. This would be a nice to have for cruisers. FOOD PRO: was okay...above average of a typical restaurant but not up to past cruises experience. Guys burger and fries GREAT. Deli food was pretty good. CON: Minimal fresh cut fruit. Missing the desert table of cakes, pies, cookies. Etc. They did have 5 types of cakes daily in the buffet area. Just not the past experience. Didn’t have the midnight buffet as past cruises had. Wasn’t excited at all about the lunch buffet selection of food. GAMES PRO: mini golf, pool, basketball, indoor clubhouse with kickball pool, ping pong and bean bag toss. Water park slides. DANCERS PRO: The shows were unique compared to past cruises. I’d say this was our top shows. They were great with kids and did a little wave to my 5yr old daugter who absolutely loved them. Took ohotos and had small props for the 20s show before the show started. MAIN THEATER: CON: Hate the name Liquid Lounge. Need something a bit more classy. Didn’t like the layout at all. With kids you must get there when doors open or they won’t be able to see. It’s tough for adults to see as it is. Order a drink and you end up holding it thru out the show as well. PRO: Dancers use not just the stage but main floor to try and have more audience see the show. ENTERTAINMENT PRO: variety of events. The lip sync event started on the lido deck and then last main show winner was selected. Loved that the ocean club kids got to participate in last main show. Learned how to salsa the downfall was all dance events had minimum space and felt to crowded. Had an 80s evening dance at 10:30 but would be more fun knowing this before going on the cruise so one could have a costume to make it more fun. Seaside movies as well as music always had something going on the lido deck. CON: a lot of people but not necarrily enough space for some events. LAYOUT - CON: It’s s bit all over. Took us until day 5 to find the theater which costs additional fees. Photos was day 3 to locate. The stores could have better options as other carnival shops have. Liquid lounge layout is horrible. This cruise ship has a modern feel and not the elegant feeling as other carnival ships. SHORE EXCURSION PRO: Do your research ahead of time, if there is a shore excursion that had 5 and unde are free go ahead and order tickets for everyone but them, they actually don’t need a ticket. Our cosmuzel excursion got cancelled due to winds and we were refunded. Pixel photos CON very expensive. First photo is $19.99 then additional are $5/ea. There were photos I’d love to get a 4x7 of an event but no way am I paying that much. I did spend $100 in photos. Dining Was disappointed at first not having either an early or late set time/table. However, I ended up loving the on your time dining. No rush and we still saw the waiters show, table location wasn’t to bad and getting a table was always within 5 mi utes. Only thing I miss is the personal touch of having the same waiters each day. I’m now a fan of dining when I want to! Read Less

The ship is nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the sky ride. There was a worker named Milos who made our cruise more enjoyable. The rooms are nice as well. However the food on the buffet was mediocre. The breakfast was better than the dinner. I was totally disappointed with the desserts. Thought I was getting cake but instead the texture was a mixture between jello and pudding and tasteless. We still don’t know what that was. I noticed there was a lot of cheesecake which is fine if you happen to like cheesecake which my husband and I don’t. This is our six cruise and we would like to see an improvement in the food. Why can’t there be normal desserts like the classic cake or pies? Would like to see a separate bar set up for serving cokes because when you pay to be able to have them, you have to go to the bar which takes forever because they are busy mixing alcoholic drinks and seemed to be more concerned with making them than messing with the cokes. Itjust seems like a hassle to just get a coke. If you want pictures taken they have plenty of photographers taking them and they look nice. But you have to have a big pocket book to be able to purchase them. They charged $20 for just one picture that you can download on your phone or you can buy packages but be prepared to pay a lot of money. They would probably make more money if they made the pictures more affordable so that people would buy more. Had fun on the excursions except for the Bamboo Beach in Jamaica. It was a 45 minute ride to and from. No place to get out of rain so we got soaked before even getting to swim. Beach was not as nice as I thought it would be. By the time you got back, there was no time for shopping. Would not recommend this excursion. Grand Cayman and Cozumel was very nice. 7 Mile Beach was beautiful. Swam with the dolphins in Cozumel and loved it. Would highly recommend this excursion. Read Less

We always choose Carnival bc we do family trips and CARNIVAL BRINGS THE FUN‼️ and Guys burgers... Hands down the BEST and on horizon Guys Barbecue Joint OMG good... Loved the new ship overall.. my only draw back would probably be I absolutely love the family dinning experience and on this cruise they were really slow and also love, love, love Latino music/atmosphere... We went to the Havana Bar and was never greeted or attended to at all. They clearly seen us, looked at us and we in fact had to walk over to the bar and order when we were at a table.. Overall we love Carnival. Our only disappointment was the Havana Bar bc we were treated like we wasn't there and dining was slower than usual but absolutely beautiful ship.. Read Less

Firstly it reeked. It smells of sewage. The water they serve smells like sewage. Out of the 5 days we were cruising I can tell you I only had 1-2 decent meals. Bread served at every meal was hard and old. Food was always served cold. The buffet and dinning were the worst and least edible. We literally ate out of necessity. I can't even recommend food. Bring your own snacks and mostly survive on those. The staff were extremely inconsistent with rules and with policies that were literally posted for guests to read. Multiple times policies were ignored or changed at the discretion of the employee. We provided feedback several times when asked by staff. They literally just want to shove alcohol down everyone's throat and sell you stuff every 5 seconds. Oh and they painted without any regard for any guests or notification to guests. The fumes from the paint were horrid. I would not recommend this ship to anyone. I can't say much about others but I'd never get on this one again. The Bahamas was nice. If I ever cruise here again I'd plan to visit other islands while in Nassau. You can't really get to much from Princess Cays because they shuttle you there and back. I am 99% sure the next time I come will not be on a cruise ship. Save yourself the stomach aches, frustration, and overall lack of good service and fly there. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was cheap and were not expecting much, but we were blown away. The ship was so clean, the employees were the kindest people I have ever been helped by. Our three dinner servers were amazing people that made each night so special for my family and me. The food was delicious, we always found something yummy. Too many yummy things actually. :) The activities on board were fun and a plenty to choose from. We enjoyed crafting, games, singing performances and water slides the most. It was an incredible trip with memories to last a life time. My family consists of my husband and two elementary aged daughters. Our bedroom had a king bed and two Murphy-style twin beds that folded out from the wall, over our king size bed. The kids loved it, they thought they were bunk beds. :) There were three large closets to place our luggage and to hang our clothes. The bathroom could easily fit two people at a time which helped when getting ready for the day. The water got hot super fast which is a plus for me. Read Less

I chose this cruise to take with my family of five (two adults, three kids under the age of 12) because it was an excellent value and we could have connecting ocean view rooms. This was my 20th cruise and 7th with Carnival. Embarkation- I parked in the port lot directly across the street from the terminal after dropping off my family and luggage. It could not have been closer, though at $22 per day was a little steep. We literally walked onto the ship after waiting in the security line for under 5 minutes. Ship- the entire ship has a French Impressionist theme, which we really enjoyed. The art around the public spaces was lovely to look at. I'm not sure what some of the reviews here are meaning by dirty or worn areas; I did not notice anything like that anywhere. There was a little rust on the hull, however, but that is not a problem. Cabin- We had connecting rooms on the Riviera Deck (1), all the way aft. We were surprised that the rooms seemed large and had tons of hangers and closet space. The noise from the engines was minimal and we even remarked how we thought it would be worse. Bathrooms were nice and a good size. Dining- We had most of our breakfasts in the Monet dining room as we prefer that to the buffet. Dinners were also in the Monet and lunch at the buffet/ Guy's/ Blue iguana. Every meal we had was tasty and well prepared. The fish was a tad dry, but still good. There was always a good selection to choose from. Is it "fine" dining? No, but it doesn't come at that price either. It is however, very good, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Entertainment- The cruise director, Kyndall Fire was really great and seemed to be everywhere! The shows were well done and the dancers especially good. Service- Everyone we interacted with was just excellent. Ports- We did not do any Carnival excursions: Grand Turk- We took the Island Tram and saw the island, then snorkeled right off the beach by the pier. Had a great time though the water was not as clear as usual as storms had come through the day before. San Juan- Walked off the ship into the old town, saw the fort, had dinner in the city. Very safe, beautiful and a great place to wander. St. Thomas- We got a taxi to Sapphire Beach and spend our time there. It was $50 each way for all 5 of us and took about 20 minutes. There is a restaurant, bar, and facilities to use but we brought our Carnival towels so we did not have to rent chairs. Amber Cove- This was a surprise. I booked a private tour with RV Tours and we had the best time. Just the 5 of us, our driver and guide. We saw the town, rode the cable car to the mountain top, and stopped at rum, amber, and chocolate factories. Highly recommend. Children Program- Our kids love Camp Ocean and enjoy the programs very much. Summary- I would sail the Conquest again. However, the lack of the water park that some of the other Carnival ships have (even the smaller Fantasy Class) would make me probably pick one of those over her if my kids were with me again. Also, I would choose, if possible, a cabin on deck 6 or higher simply because the galley and restaurants make it so that you cannot walk fore to aft on decks 3 or 4, which was annoying if your cabin is below those. The band was really good. Enjoyed all the shows and activities the ship had to offer. The ports we visited were grand turk, san juan ,st thomas ,amber cove i think my favorite was st thomas the shopping was amazing really good deals. I would definitely will be cruising carnival again. Disembarkation was really quick also maybe 30 minutes . Met some wonderful people on the cruise . We went on one excursion in san juan didn't really enjoy it . I traveled with my family of 6 and two other families for a total of 7 adults and 10 kids ages 3-13. We found the embarkation process quick and easy. Our rooms were comfortable (our family had adjoining rooms) with plenty of storage space - be sure to check under the sofa for two big drawers. Our room steward - Ma'Mun - was friendly and attentive. I was surprised to discover that he knew our names by day two! Our kids enjoyed the free room service for nightly milk and cookies (free until 10 pm). We dined at 6 pm each evening in the Blush dining room. We had 2 rounds tables and most nights, allowed our kids to take over one table. Our waitstaff (Leslie) went over and beyond to provide superb service to us all. They were very friendly, helpful and patient with the kids. The kids enjoyed acting like big people by placing their own orders and had fun chatting with each other. They loved 'Showtime!' and dancing with the waitstaff. It was fun trying new food, and the chocolate melting cake and baked Alaska were fabulous! My favorite entertainment was watching the violin trio Black Diamonds. They were fantastic! Our cruise director Nono was awesome! One of my grandaughters had an opportunity to chat with her and was thrilled to do so. The military event was special and a nice touch. There were three WW II vets on board! Our port of call experiences were enjoyable, again, the off and on boarding process was smooth. Pirate pizza and the self serve ice cream were huge hits with the kids. The burger I had at Guy's was delicious! Our kids spent a ton of time in the Waterworks, ropes course and sports areas. Our grandaughters loved participating in Build a Bear ($40). I did peek into the fitness area - it was surprisingly nice, outfitted with many treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. My only disappointment and complaint is that the smoke from smoking areas permeated most of the ship. Smoking was allowed only n the casino inside the ship, but wafted out into the atrium ad shopping areas. More ventilation is desperately needed. Also, the amount of outside smoking areas on deck 5 made walking the entire promenade unenjoyable by having to walk through smoke infested areas. Although the daytime wait staff were quick to clear tables, I did not see tables being wiped down enough. On the other hand, I did see staff wiping down hand rails on the pool deck during the day. One thing I would do different next time (provided the smoking issue is addressed) is to forgo the Bubbles Package. I do not drink alcohol and did not drink enough pop to justify the expense. I drank no more than 10 sodas all week, sticking mainly to ice water. That amounted to roughly $30 for a Bubbles package that cost me $80. Water, coffee, tea (hot and iced), juices, lemonade and hot cocoa were all available, free and unlimited. Bottom line - our family had a nice trip, but the smoke issue has to be fixed before we will book on the Breeze again. Read Less

the design of the ship reminded us a lot of Royal Caribbean, it is disappointing they don't put lemons on the tables every night only formal nights. We had a great time the extras like the hand washing stations in the lido deck and at the cherry on top Candy shop we're great additions. Ship featured a large effy jewelry selection and the piano bar had a fantastic host for the sailing we were on the design was well-thought-out also.they could have done more karaoke is that was a big hit and they stopped it mid cruise. My wife and I really enjoyed tee time on sea days at 3 p.m.going this early in February we saw whales at breakfast when we were pulling into Cabo breach over 15 times. Well worth the money. I just wish they would offer more non alcoholic drink packages besides just bubbles. Leaving out of Long Beach it is awesome to be able to use your ticket to board the Queen Mary and take a tour for free. The liquid lounge their main entertainment venue is rather small for a ship this size however they did not hold great enough entertainment to keep it full most any night.the one annoying thing in the room is you have to leave a card in a slot to turn the lights on most people end up just shoving a piece of paper in that dead man switch so they can use that feature without leaving their seapass card. This is the second type inaugural Cruise my wife and I have taken, in both cases there were surprises and let Downs overall this is a good ship for a good value. Read Less

This cruise was amazing it has everything you need and want, at night it can be noisy but that’s it. The rooms are big. We had a balcony in our room and it was beautiful! The price is not much me and my family went to Fort Lauderdale for 3 days and then got on to the cruise in total it costed 1300$ for 3 people. Very nice people, staff is very friendly. The bad things are the night time it is always really noisy and the boat rocks a little bit but it’s not the captains fault or anyone. The room service is amazing the beds are made perfectly. They give you free 1.5 litres water bottles for free. The pool is a little bit dirty but they clean it every day. The water slides are really clean and really fun. The food is really good. I would definitely recommend staying here!! p.s I’m 11 years old Read Less

This was our 7th Cruise and we chose Splendor because it was supposedly refurbished and we enjoyed Spirit so much. I believe a cruise is what your make of it and we enjoyed ourselves, but somethings were disappointing. The ships decor I think is very ugly unfortunately, ceilings very low and areas very dark. The glass lifts are like walking into a hallway very narrow. Overall the ship is very hard to navigate because nothing flows, only deck 5 runs front to back, so you would have to go up a level walk across and then down a level to get to the pub and restaurants. Firstly we stayed in a suite which was very old dark and dated, maybe they put new carpet down. I know the showers on most cruises arent the best but these were the worst, no pressure and temperature fluctuations. We were in a party of 6 and you could pre-book your table 10 minutes prior to seating if all your guest had paid to go on the hub app. You cannot contact the dining room until it is open. Weird thing is not once did we get a table for 6, it would be seven chairs or ten chairs and eight. But when we did book for eight people we got a table of nine. this became a bit of a continuing joke. Food tried to be fancy had some nice and not so nice meals. We enjoyed the Red Frog Pub and the trivia was entertaining, the casino poker machines were very stingy. The Carnival shows in the theater were not so great. It would have been nice if they had a price list for their services at the Spa. When I asked them their excuse was they only print one brochure for all their ships world wide. But nothing is stopping them from printing their own price list. As for Ports we had 2 (Lifou and Isle of Pines) cancelled and Vila was a substitute unfortunately it was a Sunday the markets were open but only 2 shops in town. We were to leave port at 2.30, but when Isle of Pines cancelled they extended our stay till 8pm and everythings was closed off and on the ship it made no sense. Lastly the carnival hub app is soooo bad constantly having no connection. We enjoyed ourselves anyway and will be going on another cruise , just not on this ship. Read Less

My husband and I aged 54 and 52 had an interior room on deck 6 (6376) for a 9 day South Pacific cruise at a total cost of $83 per day each, now thats exceptional value. As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for". The ship overall look is older style with very gaudy decor, clashing colours and overall ugliness in some areas. "You get used to it". Stateroom was a good size clean and comfy. Food was a hit and miss. Some good choices in the Lido and some not so good. Sandwich bar is excellent, also liked most of the food in the Black Pearl dining room restaurant. Most staff where very good, a few seemed brash or uninterested. Unfortunately we missed 2 Island days, Lifou and Isle Of Pines, due to the Corona Virus scare. Island officials closing the Islands to ALL cruise ships until further notice. Ship gave all passengers a $25 credit to compensate for this. Instead of Lifou we went to Port Vila and a day at sea instead of Isle Of Pines. Ship holds a lot of passengers and finding seating especially near the 2 pools was usually impossible unless you staked your claim before dawn. Hygiene practices were nearly non existent. I hardly ever saw anyone use the hand sanitiser before entering eatery areas. Entertainment was very mediocre actually worst we've had on our 7 cruises. Please be aware if you have sailed on the Carnival Spirit and expect this ship to be on par, you will probably be disappointed. We will not be returning to Splendor even at the budget price. This cruise was very average and nothing to recommend people on, most of the staff are fantastic (and completely over-worked). The ship was OK but looking poorly for a twelve year old ship, and the layout as good once you got accustomed. Hygiene is not Carnival strong point, so you have to be pro-active here as most of the passengers are not. The Good: -The kids facilities are good, the water parks and ocean camp are excellent, the Cat in the Hat activities are very good too. -The buffet was better than some other ships I've been on but the food don't change at all. -The Red Frog Pub had a good vibe. -The stateroom was cosy and clean. -Good movies on the pool deck at night. The Bad: -The dining room food and service was very average, less of 'The Show' and more of imaginative food please. -The theatre shows very average except for the Illusionist who was great. -The bar service was slow. -The cruise director was very average and basically called the passengers bogans! -The photos are too expensive and mostly poorly shot. This ship is positioned at the cheap and of the market, but I had the feeling that Carnival was cutting expenses everywhere to total maximise profit at the passengers enjoyment. Read Less

Good afternoon. We just returned from this Cruise. It was very nice overall and a very nice family getaway. Our oldest son achieved his Platinum status on this cruise so he was elated. We are a family of four. The Jacksonville Cruise port experience was very nice. We arrived a bit earlier than our scheduled time but had no problem boarding. The first and second days at Sea were very relaxing with the Cruise Director Cam leading the cruisers. He was probably the best Cruise Director we had encountered. Very upbeat and personable young man. The Nassau port was very interesting as we ventured into the area. No planned excursions. Natives were very friendly. No issues We had to skip the Private Island due to high wind, high waves and very choppy seas. Real bumpy on approach and the Captain decided to move on. The cruise line actually allowed the Captain to dock at Freeport the next day. We spent about an hour at Senor Frogs and had a blast. Debarkation was a bit more challenging. Didn't actually get off the ship until 10:30 AM. For some reason they stopped calling decks and numbers for a while. Overall the cruise was very good, relaxing and enjoyable. The ship certainly has some flaws; however, we still enjoy all of our family cruise vacations. I hope that Carnival is reviewing the possibility of building a new Cruise Port somewhere south of Jacksonville preferably in St. John's County so that larger ships can be enjoyed without having to consider navigating under a passenger bridge. Just a Thought!!! Read Less

Bridge version. In my opinion the Ship need to be scrapped and Carnival need to invest into further training for staff, lack of maintenance has caused ship to be an eye sore. Rust, corrosion, wear and tear is certainly no priority on this ship. Cleaning is done at an absolute minimum standard. Process are not enforced or sustained. Dirty windows throughout. Furniture torn and damaged. Broken items are not discarded. Ceiling fixtures are falling away. List goes on!!! don’t just take my word for it read other reviews. If you’re looking for a wow experience through and through this is certainly not the ship. Staff are friendly and most happy to help. The problems is staff are limited to training and resources, offered this makes their jobs difficult. Don’t expect captain to greet you or have a photo taken unless you are willing to pay $25 for the photo. (disgrace). So many families were looking forward to a simple wave and smile. Grime is so visible throughout. Too top it off Carnival smoking area is in within the children’s pool area. The term you get what you pay for is a complete understatement. Witnessed Bar staff serving drunk guests alcohol to intoxicating levels. ( bar is so understaffed during busy periods they overlook what and who they a serving drinks too. To allow underage guests to be intoxicated on the ship is not right. Assaults on innocent elderly couple by young drunks. Security guards not present enough through the bars areas. All in all process need to be enforced for family’s to have a fun safe enjoyable time. Wake Up Carnival!!! Read Less
