Royal Caribbean was a Royal Flush (not the poker kind)

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Allure of the Seas

We chose this cruise as a "get our feet wet" family cruise, and it was also our oldest sons senior high school cruise. He is 17 and we have 2 other boys 9 and 16. Boarding went smooth and we were all excited to see this magnificent ship up close - once we boarded, the entire ship smelled like a port-a-potty - YUK - so Allure smelled a lot like manure - but eventually that went away, and we ...

The good the bad and the ugly

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Vision of the Seas

I was in an ocean view First the good: The crew were fabulous. Attentive, friendly, extremely skilled and eager to please. I can't say enough good about all of my interactions with them all. The "Chef's Table" was superb. I always book this experience whenever I cruise Royal and I was not disappointed. The food was, as always, great, the ambiance was first rate and again, the staff were ...

The food on Royal Caribbean has declined from my past experiences. The staff was great at the dining room but the quality of the food was terrible. I didn’t eat my food most nights and resorted to the pizza later on. It was better than most of the food in the dining room and the buffet was even worse. Usually we only go to the dining room bc it’s been great in the past. Besides the quality of the ...

Good cruise hampered by poor staff

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

We chose a short cruise to see if we enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fun voyage, but we had consistent issues with staff, most notably the person traiging dinner guests on deck 3 on all 3 nights of our cruise. This individual was apathetic at best and openly hostile and antagonistic at his worst, and marred what otherwise would have been a lovely anniversary dinner. Royal Caribbean did not respond ...

Not a great RCL experience, surprisingly

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Vision of the Seas

We have cruised over 23 times in 43 years, often selecting Royal Caribbean because we had been so pleased with our previous experiences. Well, maybe we are just cruised out but our last cruise on the Vision out of Baltimore was at best, mediocre. The food in the Windjammer was less in selection, too many highly spiced dishes, and often cold or Luke warm. The main dining room just seemed to ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Voyager of the Seas

We sailed two years ago on the voyager during Christmas and new year weeks. It was a back to back cruise. It included a sauna and steam room. They have been recently taken out(no more steam or sauna) and a large number of new cabins were added to accommodate more guests. The gym has been downsized. They have moved the crown and anchor from the 14th deck to deck 5 in the old card room It almost ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

Our goal was to get our whole family together and give our grandchildren (age 5-11) their first cruise. The ship, the friendly staff, the outstanding waiters all worked well. The kids were happy swimming; we did not use the kids programs at all. They enjoyed the two shows we saw and everyone had a good time. Cabins were very clean as was the ship in general. The significant downside to the cruise ...

First Class Suite Experience is Second Rate

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

I get it , RCL is cutting corners to increase revenue. But, it is becoming so obvious to everyone because of poor food quality and lackluster service. Boarding the ship is nothing special. There is a separate entrance for suite guests that simply dumps you in line with everyone else. I booked loft suite. It was very clean but furniture is showing its age. Loft bathroom has hot water the ...

The Great, Good and Not So Good

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

We had so much fun on Explorer Feb. 4th -9th sailing. What I enjoyed was the diversity of people on board. I love seeing little ones enjoying. The entertainer we booked to see playing in Schooner's, Perry Grant, could not be there last minute and I was so disappointed. David, who filled in, was a laugh and a half. And we were all surprised when fellow passenger asked to sing along and stole ...

Ship was well kept for an older ship. Our balcony stateroom was clean and nice. The cabin attendant ( Virasami ) was the best we ever had. Hard working (even when not around our cabin ) attending to our every need, and anticipating our needs. Food in the main dining room was ok. Our waiter Saka was accommodating to our needs and wants. Our head waiter Hans, was a character. Nice but over ...
