Enjoyable Cruise

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Crown Princess

We chose this cruise based on itinerary. We have been on the Crown and this was our 15th cruise on Princess. We were on the 28 days version of the British Isles cruise with the transatlantic. I felt for a older ship it was in well maintained condition. They were replacing carpet in many rooms while we were about. Saw little rust and wood railings were well varnished not oxidized. I felt the ...

Pleasantly surprised by the Crown Princess

After reading all of the negative Reviews about the Crown Princess, British Isles itinerary, my expectations of the ship and cruise line were not high. But, my group was pleasantly surprised and we really enjoyed our trip leaving from Le Havre at the end of August. The interior room, for the price, was better than expected, the bed was very comfortable and the cabin fit our needs for three just ...

We chose our first Princess Cruise because we were celebrating my husband’s retirement - and we always wanted to visit Scotland and Ireland. We arrived in London 5 days early and visited the major tourist attractions. A Princess bus picked us up at Victoria Station and drove us to Southampton. Embarkation was very organized. We had to wait awhile, but chairs were provided and we were called in ...

Our tour director, Claudia, met us in Paris and remained with us for the entire trip. She was always accessible, made sure everyone knew schedules, always informative and friendly. I was disappointed that the boat did not dock within walking distance to the town at each port. It was so much more enjoyable when that was possible. The guides in each port were terrific. They were ...

We had a great trip and really enjoyed all the things we saw and did. Meet lots of wonderful people on board the long boat. The crew was very friendly and helpful. Our program directors was a fun lively gal. Saw so many things on the shore excursions. Glad we took lots of pictures to help us remember all the places we were. Although all the guides were very knowledgeable and eagerly ...

The Hotel in Paris - Le Meridien was being renovated and you could hear all the work being done early in the morning above us. We had the furthest room from the elevators and took 20 minutes just to get to the Lobby. Hotel breakfast was good. Hotel Staff was attentive. Everything else in Paris was lovely. Vikings tour of the city was fine. We departed for Luxembourg and had an excellent ...

Our first river cruise. The hotel in Paris (Le Meridien) was nothing special, small room looked a bit worn but Prague Hilton was nice. It was hot in Paris/Germany/Prague during our trip. The A/C in the ship's dining room had some trouble keeping it cool during dinners but our cabin (Veranda Suite) was always cool. Most of the tour guides were excellent. Entertainment on-board was just okay. ...

CITIES OF LIGHT 10-14 with Prague extension

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Odin

Cities of Light is advertised as a 12 day cruise, an 11 night tour, with 7 nights on the ship, the other nights are in a hotel. The 12th day, the last day, is a travel day, and for those who have to leave the hotel at 5 am, a hell day; but all cruise lines do the same thing. I am sure that most people who have taken this tour have loved it, but for us, and I repeat, for us, this was not the right ...

Great shipboard experience - but too much like a bus tour.

We recently took the Paris to Prague cruise on the Viking Odin. While the ship and staff were exceptional, I would not recommend this particular itinerary. The cruise had 2 nights in Paris at Le Meridian Hotel. While at the hotel, the only meals included are the buffet breakfast. Day one is the arrival date for most of the passengers and day 2 there is a morning bus tour. Very early on day 3 you ...
