We chose this cruise as it was our first river boat experience and were apprehensive about the smaller confined boat, so only did a 7 night one and then continued to see other countries by ourselves.
The crew were lovely, our cabin 322 was fine, small but enough room, maybe little close to the back deck Queens Garden, some people got up early and talked loudly ( it is where they put out some ...
The trip was a wonderful experience. Scenic Jade was well cared for, clean and welcoming The sights and experiences were second to none. For us the best parts were the sail though the German Forest, Wachau Valley and the Romantic Rhine. The crew were professional, friendly and attentive with every activity including embarkation and disembarkation were very well managed and executed. The cabin ...
My aunt has been on the river cruises 4 times and she invited me, husband and my best friend to experience such journey. It was lovely, relaxing and different from other cruises that we've been on. Highly recommend it to family and friends as well. I would like to see, more entertainment, especially in the evening after dinner. Snack throughout the day, It was only cookies and of course coffee ...
My favorite part of river cruising is viewing the life on the river, both human and nature. The cruise from St. Petersburg to Moscow was interesting but the wildlife was nearly nonexistent, mostly supplanted by the human life that this ancient waterway supported. It was great to see the small villages and dachas lining the banks with people enjoying the water, fishing, gardening and boating. ...
We wanted to visit Belgium and cities in Germany , Austria and Hungary. We did not want to be packing and unpacking continously. We had a very good experience with this company in Russia
Viking personnel is corteous, attentive and eager to 'please , This applies to cruise directors, concierges and room attendants and waiters and waitresses.
The scenery was fantastic, the cities that were ...
We cruised on the American Queen last October on the Tennessee/Columbia Rivers and enjoyed it very much.
The positives of this cruise was the size of the room and its furnishing (other than the twin beds!), the service, the shore excusions and all the guides.
There are several suggestions I would like to make:
The first three deal with what is printed in the brochure...
1)It states ...
My wife and I took this cruise because we were interested in the Lewis and Clark expedition and this cruise followed their path on the Snake and Columbia rivers. This was our first trip to the Pacific Northwest (we live in the Northeast). The countryside was beautiful, the Columbia River was more massive than I pictured. One shore excursion was to Mt. Saint Helens and it was awesome. Seeing ...
After much online research we picked Emerald. I liked that it is not a U.S. company so we would be cruising with a diverse group. When I travel I like to meet people from other places and since only about 10 of us were from the U.S. this line met my expectations.
Personally my husband and I are more independent travelers so I was not sure how we would like a river cruise. We are also in our ...
We arrived in Amsterdam very early in the morning as we had an overnight flight. Our Viking Cruise host met us while we were waiting for our luggage to come off the plane. We were then shuttled to our ship aboard a coach bus and given cold water immediately. It was a nice way to start. When we arrived at our ship, the staterooms weren't ready yet but we were encouraged to go to the dining room and ...
Based on their professional marketing chose this company over Riviera River Cruises.
Over all a well managed if slightly, over the top, super organised company.
Booked additional tours on Viking web site prior to cruise and found I'd been charged for using my credit card, without being advised of this on the payment page. After a couple of telephone calls to Viking, they agreed to refund ...
