Loved the large ship and plenty of choices. However, can't book dining times/dates if you select dining packages which makes your first day total stress and chaos trying to book shows (filled up) and dining times( all full). Stupid idea by Royal when they could eliminate that by allowing you to select dining dates/times prior so they match up to your show. Once again smokers allowed near the kids section of the ship? Are you kidding me? NO SMOKING or send the smokers to the aft of ship so they don't pollute the kids area and other passengers who wish to stay healthy! The Safari Snorkel on Labadee Haiti was a waste of money. Rough waters open sea an NO fish. Otherwise we loved the ship, great dining, great staff and overall wonderful time. I find the Oasis class ships to be the best in the world. Open, lots of air, sun light and a great ship. Read Less

I have been loyal to Royal for many years (cruising over 6 times). However the expectations for the Harmony of the Seas (the biggest ship out there) were not met! The overall cruise is UNDERSTAFFED! Royal You need more bartenders, more DJ's, Better hours of operations for Entertainment (not enough time slots for Shows) with the amount of people on board. Lounges closed way too early! Royal needs to extend Lounge times until 2 am and provide DJ's after bands leave. Teen disco needs a DJ playing Top hit songs all night until at least 1am.!! Teenagers were BORED!! Boleros closes too early, Dassles closes too early, Wonderland Lounge closes too early, the list is endless of the amount of wasted nightly lounges that Royal is not making proper use of! Elevators are not in SYNC!! They are way too slow for the amount of people on board. Fix Them! Main Dinning Room needs better food portions *they have declined tremendously! Not everyone wants to spend more money on Specialty Restaurants. Breakfast should be served later in the Solarium too! Stop closing at 1030 am. Too many people on board! You need an A la Carte Omelette area at the Windjammer and Solarium! The Bartending service was very poor especially at the Solarium and Floating Bars! Hire more bartenders!! Too many passengers on this Ship!! You can't run this ship like you run your small fleets. Seriously Royal?? You are making way too much money for this ship to be slacking and reducing!! Step it up, hire more staff and GET more Bartenders and DJ'S on board!! Read Less

We went on this cruise because of the ship. The staff is great. there are some problems with this ship. 1st of all hope you like to climb stairs because the elevators are so packed hot and slow you can not use them unless you have 15 or 20 minuets. This my time dining is hard to use you show up and have to wait forever. if you try to schedule a time on the boat you cant get anyone to answer the phone. Avoid the windjammer buffet at all cost. they don't control it at all. you cant find a seat. when you do it is dirty and no one cleans it. i ate at a dirty table twice last week. over all the food is average on this boat on the bright side johnny rockets is a great place and the boots and bonnet salon is great as well Read Less

I chose this cruise because I was taking my 13 year old granddaughter on a vacation. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly on the ship in five minutes. Off very quickly and orderly. The ship is very pretty and kept very clean considering how many people are on this ship. Cabin was nicely decorated and the cabin steward was very nice and kept the room spotless and he was very helpful with any questions I had. I had cabin 329 deck 8 overlooked the aqua theatre and the theater played movies till 12:00 very noisy the balcony windows did not block sound out. So don't plan to go to sleep watch tv or read. If you have cabins in the back or what they call aft. Ship. Better off with inside cabin or balcony ocean side mid ship. Dining crowded and long wait lines. Buffet also crowded and they don't provide trays for your food so you have to juggle your drink silverware and food . To a table if you can find one. Dining room food was ok I only ate there once fish was salty and had bones. And children sitting at a table next to me were running around the table and throwing themselves on the floor. The parent were at another table further away from them and did not care. Buffet in the windjammer restaurant was pretty good. I did not try any of the specialty restaurants. Entertainment was good aquatic show. And Grease the musical was good. You do need to have reservations for every thing because it is so crowded. Services were poor. Many problems with teens running wild on the ship . 12 yr old was molested by a fifteen yr old boy. And same teen was harassed by another boy. It was handled very poorly by security. My 13 yr old did not want to go in the pool because it was to crowded. And I could not find a seat at the pool or nor could I swim in any of the 4 pools because all 6,00 people were in them. Body to body. Ports nice shore excursion not sponsored by the ship in Mexico snorkeling was great. Swimming with the dolphins thru the ship tours took you thru a lot of shopping in the stores before you actually got to swim with the dolphins. I booked with icruise.com they provided the best tour. For least amount of money. I am not a fan of the mega ship to crowded and unruly. If you are a young family you may enjoy it. As for me I will never go on a mega ship again. It was more like a floating city than a ship. Read Less

I had a good experience on my last cruise on Allure, good service and food, but this time was the opposite. Food was gross, dry meats, greasy foods, and very poor quality of produce. As for management, totally unable to resolve a repeat noise issue with our neighbooring cabin and their uncontrollable children.Being woken before 7am every day on your ONCE a year vacation when you work full time and have 3 of your own children is very frustrating. Security had to be called 3 times and nothing really still was resolved, only temporarily for 2 days in between. The cabin next door totally violated cruise conduct and yet they tried to move me although I had my own children across the hall and had picked this location specifically for access to my specific needs. Why should I be penalized and have to pack up and move when the people next door were clearly at fault??? Read Less

This cruise should've been better. I'm a loyal RCCL crown and anchor member. With this last cruise I became a Diamond member, which demonstrates my loyalty. However, the nickel-and-dime mentality of Carnival Cruise lines must be seeping into Royal Caribbean because they want to charge you for everything. For example, there was a guacamole demonstration class that should be free and it costs $30. For $30 I expect to eat a good meal, not guacamole and chips. Also, the dining experiences should have been better since this cruise costs way more than NCL or Carnival, yet it was terrible. Even the specialty restaurants were terrible. And you pay handsomely for those. $50 per person. I can get a better price on food locally at home. The cleanliness aboard the cruise was nonexistent. If you were by the pool area, bottles of beer and empty glasses were strewn all over the place and it was 30 minutes or so before you even saw a waiter or a person to pick up or even offer you a drink. They are relying too much on their drink packages to make money for them, but what they fail to tell you is that you have to get up every time you want a drink because you will not see a waiter anywhere, like you used to, especially by the pool area. So you have to stand at the bar waiting to order your drink and so are the other 6,000+ passengers. Read Less

First Cruise experience but we traveled with 20 people and some love to Cruise. For the price of this experience we expected top notch service and it fell short. Everything was a hard sell. From the crap on Deck 5, to every workout and spa service. To the bar, room service, and so on. CHECK your statement carefully at the end of your cruise and we had drink packages and still were charged for drinks I had to call and get removed. I think of how many people don't even check for these SNEAKY charges. No water was provided in the rooms (even with the drink packages), water was left but you are charged. Room Service was NOT FREE, 7.95 service charge for even the complementary items, plus the heartier foods were additional. It took FOREVER to get drinks, and they would make you wait 5-10 minutes between drinks sometimes, depending on who waited on you. The ship days are very boring unless you like to get drunk by the pool or gamble, or shop for useless crap. It feel like a mall on Deck 5, not our idea of a vacation. The entertainment was good, that is probably the only think we really enjoyed. The shore excursions were always sold out if you didn't pre-book, and as this was our first experience we did not know to do that. The dining was very sub-par as well. Day one the only thing open is the Windjammer Buffet and the line was around the deck. Everything else was an extra charge. We finally got a bite in the Mini Bites area on the pool deck and it was terrible hamburgers (the meat was absolutely disgusting), hot dogs, hard french fries, and some nachos. We dressed nicely for our dining "experience" in the main dining room and what a disappointment that was. We were expecting collared shirts and people taking some pride in their dinner attire (this was NOT on a formal night) but some people were in tank tops (men) and swim suits. The food was not well prepared, the steak on the first evening was horrible, fatty, poor cut of meat. . The only time we enjoyed the cuisine was on the last formal night when they served filet and lobster. That was our only quality meal. Maybe we expected too much. But I really thought this class of cruising would be first class, and it fell far far short. We have vacationed all over the world and have traveled first class before, and this is just not up to that level. If you like a "mall experience" with mid level food, while paying top dollar and then being hounded and charged for everything under the sun, then have a blast. This cruise is for you. We will not be traveling with Royal Caribbean again. We spend well over $ 20,000 on this vacation and are extremely disappointed and this low class service. Read Less

I believe RCCL has finally made a ship that is too big to provide its usual high level of service. The staff does not seem to be trained up to the usual RCCL standards. Harmony is not an Oasis class ship. Its many high-tech additions added nothing to my experience. Activities on board leave much to be desired after knowing what to expect since we've cruised on both on Oasis and Allure. The activities director-Katy-was 15 minutes late to teach Zumba. She gave no reason. Not enough opportunities for Trivia! Harmony offers many health related talks but most require you to buy their Elemis products to achieve the desired results. The thermal suite was great. There are many lounges in the Solarium, but there is NO pool! Big mistake RCCL! How are you supposed to cool off...in the 100° whirlpool? The water slides are not open regularly, so it’s hit or miss when you want to go on. The Windjammer food selections are limited, many items have no taste at all. The staff berates you into washing your hands before entering, while other times you can just walk in. The singing in Grease was just above High School level. The comedy show was hysterical. The time limited "free for all" shopping was scary to behold. Grown women throwing elbows to get a $10 watch and bracelet set. Needless to say Harmony we won't be back. Oasis and Allure for us from now on. Read Less

For a new ship, there were many issues that should have been fixed before we left port. Crew attitude = very poor, looked like m ost of the crew hated there jobs, Shows - Aqua show great, Grease -okay nothing special, Ice show - good hard to understand the show. Commedians - 1 poor 1 good, Texas Tenors - great show good interaction with the crowd. Dining - first day speciality rest mix up on the cruise ship, Chops grill - great, Wonderland - family loved it, Janie's Italian - Okay, Isumi - Great experiance. Windjammer - poor food poor service. Ports of call - Labadee - Okay good shore excursion (wave runners - would do again) Porto Rico - not enough time in port to do alot, walked the town, eat lunch left for boat. St Marteen - Okay, shore excursion late to leave, good food in town (Lazy Lary rest- great food good spot to go for lunch.) Overall experiance Okay - We expected more from this ship but the ship did not live up to the hype. Will not cruise on this ship again. Read Less

Bigger is not better. I have been on over 13 cruises and this was by far the worst. There is not live bands by the pool only one night. All the other bands are in smaller rooms and unless you are the first one in you can get in later to see them. The shows are just ok. Also, I traveled with my 9 yr twins who used the kids club a lot. They told me all the time they didnt do anything but play google ball which it dodge ball and kids got hurt a lot playing this. 3 kids got bloody noses from this ruff game too. All the food closes by 9 and if you want anything to eat they had pizza that was not cooked all the way or the cafe that has hard bread for there sandwiches. You could get room service but it took over an hour and you get charged$7.95 each time you use it. Also pool chairs had big rips in them and the bathrooms where dirty and smelled bad. If you are not a big drinker and dont like to go to the club there is not a lot to do on this boat. I asked a lot of people on the boat what they thought of the ship and many said the same thing. Also the food in the buffet was awful. It was so grease and it was always the same food and same bad quality. The only good meal we got was in the dinning room. The one good thing is the staff was so nice that worked on the boat. But as i talked to people that have been on the allure boat they said it is so much better the this one. So save your money and go on a smaller boat. We still had a good time but the lines are very long and people that are on vacation are rude because they are tired of the lines and bad food too. I chose the ship so that my kids could ride the slides. My youngest was too small for splash away bay slides - parents beware! My child measured 42 inches at the doctors office, but royal's measuring stick said she wasn't big enough so we had her go tot he baby pool slides so she could do something and they kicked her out of that because she is potty trained!!! She has\d no where to play!!! If you have children that are potty trained but under 44 inches beware!!! Chose another ship!!! My daughter was heart broken and i watched other kids get turned away and crying too. That's supposed to be the kids/toddler area!!!! Whoever came up with that idea should be fired! Chops was good and similar to the other ships. The mississippi mud pie at chops is great. The water shows were great as always. Grease was also a really great production. The room was very pretty and had more storage then the same cabin type on allure/oasis so that was nice. Read Less

Emerald members on Royal Caribbean cursing for years. Took extended family 5 cabins $30,000 US dollar. Chose this ship for water slides and shows. Water slides were a bust, children to small for some, by1/2 inch, not in diapers for other area they could just splash around in 6" of water. Poliece at kiddies pool every turn, not fun. Because they want people safe, and yet captain rides motorcycle on ship? Go figure. Got drink package, includes smoothie, only place to get it is in spa. Want fresh cooked omelette in little bites pool side, nowhere near buffet. Always same food in buffet no quality desert, tried breakfast in dining room food cold, hard boiled eggs on Eggs Benedict. What can I say it was like Ryan's or Golden Corral. After dinner only pizza available, no pool party with buffet. Cookies were just horrible nothing new in coffee shop. OH but you can get room service..... for $7.98. But no room service on on last morning, which was typical, now they changed. Ship was just to big, staff seemed confused, complementary treet brought to our cabin, removed by attendant before we could enjoy it, just a mess. If you have never cruised before it will impress you, shows are good if you like musicals, nice ice show. Nice internet package for texting with group @ $7.95 each person. Would never go on this ship again, very plain no art decoration, just to big, been on majority of cruse lines. We like Norwegian a lot. Good luck. Read Less

As this is my first cruise ever I selected to experience the largest and "best" on the seas and booked on Harmony of the Seas. I found the experience to be lacking. Before entering the ship I dropped off my luggage with my "porter" who offered little explanation of what their job responsibilities were but eagerly asked for cash tips. The process to get on the ship was relatively easy until you step onto the ship. It was a mad house and I found it difficult to navigate to my room with little to no signage present. Rooms were to be ready by 1 pm, 1:20 and the rooms were still not available. Before embarking on the cruise I received quite a few emails that encourage the purchase of a drink package. It seemed like if I didn't purchase a package I would be without anything to drink. On the cruise, it was a different tune since almost every restaurant offered free coffee, milk, juice, and water. This also caused a sanitation issue since many others didn't purchase a drink package they would fill their water bottle straight from the dispenser and on many occasions, their bottles would be touching the equipment. My party dined as a group of 6 for the first two nights under - my time dining, which was great. Our server Jemar and Pedro were attentive, entertaining, personable and overall amazing! The rest of the time we dined with the rest of our party which was made up of 12. I understand serving 12 is difficult, but on average we spent 3 hours in the dining hall waiting for service, food, and beverages. The only saving grace was Jemar and Pedro who would occasionally come over to chat, make dining/wine suggestions and generally ask how our day was going. Read Less

The staff members I dealt with while on the ship were exemplary with the exception of one male stateroom supervisor I talked to by phone soon after discovering the cabin mix up. The other supervisory staff, Don and Elvira, tried to resolve the situation; however, no other rooms were available until the last two days of the cruise. The staff members who served us in the main dining room, Denis, Farah and Cosmin, were fantastic. They made dinner time a real pleasure. Also, the food was excellent at Dinner. My husband and I especially enjoyed the entertainment. The actors who performed in Grease were truly professional. Also the swimmers and the ice skaters in their respective shows were top notch. We chose this cruise because of the ships amenities and the activities that it supposedly offered for our 2 and 9 year old children. We were wrong... We had a very disappointing cruise experience, and decided before we left the ship that we would never sale on the Harmony of the Seas again. There were a number of reasons why: 1. There were virtually no recreational opportunities for my 2-year old daughter other than dumping here with a baby sitter, and we go on vacation to spend time together, so that was not an option. 2. Food selection was very limited and repetitive in the main dining room and Windjammers. 3. I resent being asked to pay excessive restaurant rates (see $40-$70 per person) to eat in one of the "specialty" restaurants when I have already paid for my food as part of my fare. 4. The Windjammer restaurant is too small to accommodate the number of guests on the ship, and as a result we had to spend 15-20 minutes searching for a table at breakfast or lunch 5. Windjammer seemed to serve the exact same food every day with very little variety 6. Why serve Indian food as part of the entrees EVERY DAY when there were (from my observation) very few Indians on board. Some ethnic variety would be nice. 7. I purchased a soft drink package, only to find out after the fact that I could only refill the cup once an hour, which is by no stretch of the imagination "unlimited". 8. Attended the DreamWorks Character Breakfast for $18 per person, and got a less than mediocre breakfast and got to take pictures with 3 characters. WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. We would have been better to eat in the Windjammer and seek out the characters ourselves for pictures. 9. My 2-year old daughter was not allowed anywhere on the pool deck except a VERY small wading area because she was wearing a swim diaper, and to add insult to injury, her 9-year old brother wasn't even allowed in this tiny area to play with his sister because he WASN'T wearing a swim diaper, yet we could. This made absolutely no sense, and because of this we only used the pool deck on the first day. VERY DISAPPOINTING. 10. Even if we could have used the pools, we would have only used one side of the deck because the other side was designated as the SMOKING AREA! Common sense should dictate that you do not put the ships smoking area right in the middle of one of the busiest recreational areas of the ship. At a bare minimum the smoking area should be moved the to adults only area of the ship because I don't think there are many children that smoke, or should be forced to be exposed to it if they want to use the pool. 11. The schedule for opening activities like the rock climbing wall and Abyss slide seemed to be arbitrary and very limited. These attractions were only open for only about 4-5 hours a day, even on sea days, and closed by dinner time. Given that they were supposed to be featured activities on the ship this made no sense. 12. Ordered the soft drink beverage package before cruising, and found out on the second day that I was supposed to receive a cup in my cabin. I mentioned this to my cabin steward and he said he would call. When it still didn't arrive the next day I had to go to guest services myself and ask for it. I inquired about a refund for the missed days but was told it wasn't possible. 13. I found the cabin to be remarkable small. There wasn't even enough room to push my daughters single travel stroller between the bottom of the bed and the cabin wall. 14. The couch in our cabin was converted to a single bed on the first night of our cruise, and was never made back into a couch for the extent of our cruise. I found this to be simply lazy on the part of our cabin steward. 15. I resent having a mandatory gratuity added on to my cabin fee every day for every person (including by 2-year old). A gratuity is meant to incentivise and reward employees for doing a good job, I should not be paying part of their salary on behalf of the company that employs them. I tip well, but it's based on performance, not just because they showed up to work, that's what a salary is for. 16. In a ship with over 5,000 passengers, there was only one after-hours (and by after-hours I mean 9:00 PM) dining option, and all they served was pizza. This is only a short list of the issues we experienced on the Harmony of the Seas, and when I compare it to our experience on the Disney Fantasy, or even one of the Carnival ships, it doesn't measure up, and I would NOT recommend it to any of our friends or family members. This is our 5th time on the Oasis class. My husband and I our emerald on Royal and cruise often. We were very disappointed in the shows and the quality and the variety of the food that was presented. First impression is the obvious. THE SHIP IS HUGE. Lots of people. Entertainment was ok, we actually got up and walked out of a few of them. My disappointments would come in the food and the layout of the ship. First I feel that some of the food was just not that impressive and could have been hotter when served. I was also disappointed in the layout of the ship because I felt like there was not enough deck space along the sides of the ship. It seemed like everywhere you walked you were redirected into the interior of the ship (shop $) but to be very disappointed in the quality and the variety of the shops. Third the room, the room was very nice at first impression but when you pulled out the bed there was NO room to walk. This was the first time that we wished that we had chosen a different cruise line. Read Less

We booked this cruise based on the ship itself. We had been to theses ports before, and while nice, not the nicest beaches or areas(southern or eastern Caribbean way better). We traveled before on freedom and allure and loved both. Travelled Norwegian and not comparable to rci. So when booking harmony, we ignored the many negative reviews as we thought "how can a new ship be that poor?". It really was such a dissapointment. We are a family of 7 (10 years-75 years. 3 children 10,13,15. 4 adults). Food- quality and variety in dining rooms poorer than previous ships. Windjammer very packed, but was expected for this many people. But Windjammer closed at 9pm. Only place to eat for 6200 guests is pizza, which is good, but only cheese, pep and 1 other available. Room service 8$ delivery charge. Mini bites advertised to have little bite size food. Not true. Hot dogs, nachos and burgers every day. Dog house only 3 types vs 6 on other ships. We loved park cafes salads previously. Harmony has no cheese, eggs, bacon etc to add to lettuce. Prepackaged ceaser , Italian dressings only option. Huge negative difference from freedom, allure in all food aspects. Shows- things happen, we get that. But following was so disappointing.. Aqua show cancelled first 2 days. Rescheduled over our other shows. 20 min Glitch in middle of aqua when we did see it. Columbus NOT a broadway as advertised. It was ok entertainment until glitch that stopped show for 40 min. We did not watch end. Headliner not good. Many walked out. Ice shows very good. Grease excellent but had short glitch in it as well. Pools- My children wait and love the flowrider. 1 hour wait for 3 min ride which was expected for 6200 guests. But, on 1 port day, we choose to stay on ship to enjoy less crowds. Disappointing to learn that harmony closes 1-2 pools, rock climbing, zip line and Flowriders during all port days. Is it not our choice to stay and enjoy ship FULLY on port days? Beware. Sports pool is now an adult only pool. Teen children are not allowed to play water vball, etc. (Solarium still adults only as well). So 2 pools available for families. But what upset us was that at any given time, harmony closes 1 other pool. So at times only 1 pool is available for families. Pool limit 21 persons, up to 80 to 100 in pool. Many very drunk adults sit in family pool all day, by 2pm swimming is impossible. So sad for families that to cool off we used the outdoor shower.. We love to cruise, but now are rethinking future holidays. When voicing our concerns to rci, we were told that decisions on food, pools, shows, are up to individual ships. I asked rci for clarification to whether harmonys standards are lower or if rci standards are declining to which no answer was provided. We do not expect everything to be perfect on our holiday, but harmony left us feeling disappointed and confused. It felt to us like rci is cutting corners to save $$ in all aspects. The ship is clean and new, but beyond that, let us down. We expected harmony to be as good as freedom or allure, but sadly it is not. would not recommend harmony nor RCI as customer service was unable to tell me about rci standards. Cruising is 20k holiday for us, and harmony certainly was not worth that. Read Less

The dining selections were great. The eastern stops were awesome. My favorite was St. Martin. The stateroom attendant was great. I have travelled on Oasis before - this Harmony ship was almost identical to that ship - so I was very familiar with what the boat had to offer. This was my 3rd cruise with Royal, and first where I brought my baby girl along with me. She is 3 years old and loved all the activities that were on board. However, DO NOT USE THE CHILDCARE SERVICES. Please to all other moms! I dropped my daughter off in the 3-5 age group, left her for 2 hours, and came back to my daughter crying in pain. Turns out she could not move her arm the rest of the day, and for several days after (this occurred on the second to last day of the cruise). All I could get out of my daughter was that the girl pulled her arm very hard. When I touched her arm or hand, she screamed and tears immediately rolled down her cheeks. I became scared and visited the onboard medical office, guest services, security and spoke with child care supervisor. The medical office and guest services were helpful, however security and the child care staff gave no information as to how my child was injured. I asked for security tapes to be watched several times, they did not do so, and they kept saying they don't know what happened. The rest of our trip was ruined and I still to this day have no answers about what happened to my daughter. The issue is that when I picked her up - there was only one other child, and the childcare staff member present. I asked the child care staff why my daughter was crying when I arrived and she shrugged me off and said "She's fine." I said clearly not since she is crying, she said nothing. As the events unfolded, child care supervisor and security would not help me understand what happened, no explanation, no answers, each time I asked what does the security footage show, they just said they were working on it. At the end of the day, I brought my 3 year old daughter onto my Royal caribbean cruise to have a great time. I used the Royal child care services (actually I paid for these late night services) and in return I got an injured baby, no answers, and my last 2 days were essentially wasted dealing with all this. I still have no answers, I never got an explanation, I never heard back about what was found on the footage. What a complete disaster - and what ultimately scares me the most, due to not getting any answers - the more and more I suspect it was the employee that grabbed my daughters arm and caused the injury, another child probably would not be strong enough, further the lack of answers have me wondering why. If the adventure daycare staff are covering up employee misconduct - I truly am scared about how many other kids are mistreated when checked into a facility that promises parents can vacation and have comfort that their babies are cared for. This was the most expensive ($10,000 for 4) unorganized, especially at excursions cruise we've been on. We were charged for things we didn't purchase, everything is an extra charge even water and soda. We are usually Ritz or JW Marriot guests, and those are not inexpensive either, but so much better. Almost no one spoke clear English. It was expensive for what you get, and staff was unfriendly and seemed annoyed, especially bar tenders. Our bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and no one helped us do anything about it when we asked. The actual ship itself was beautiful, but they have allowed too many guests on this ship so everywhere is crowed always, especially the pool. The staff takes your belongings from you pool chairs if you are any more than 30 minutes away, so no time for a quick lunch or a run down to the room because the ship is so big it usually takes 15 min to get to your room, and 15 minutes to get back walking or the elevator then your pool stuff is taken. Overall the most expensive, worst vacation we've had! Read Less

Went out at 7:15 in the morning and 90% of the chairs were held with towels. Complained to pool staff that no one had been in the chairs for over two hours and they just walked away. Upper deck has one way walk way you spend a lot of time trying to get from on end to the other. Food was not very good and was always cold. Room was nice and clean. Captain's announcements were very hard to understand and wouldn't want to be on the ship in an emergency. Staff complained about long hours and how hard it was to get supplies. Went to the slide in the back of the ship and they ran out of mats twice took over an hour to get to go down the slide for 30 seconds of a ride. Very pushing in the shops to get you to buy high end products. We spent a lot of money to be disappointed and couldn't wait to get off the ship. Number 13 for us and maybe the last for Royal Caribbean. Save your money and go on another ship!!!!! Read Less

Food was below average. and the availability to food was poor. The main cafeteria was closed every other time we went there.Other restaurants were open where you could only get sandwiches or have to pay 40 dollars for an average steak...for an ok to not ok quality. Entertainment was mediocre, little fun. The water show at the Aqua theater was ok, even weird at times, but with some good trapeze acts. Most staff were stand offish and didn't really cater to you. Called guest services for a couple wine glasses, that never did show up. House keeping removed 2 drink glasses that were in our room and never replaced them...had to help myself to their cart for some when i saw it sitting in the hall. Ive crused with Royal before, on the Mariner, about 8 years ago, and liked them. Somewhere in between Royals service ans quality and food as gone down hill ,in my opinion. Read Less

After three years of wonderful sailing on Celebrity Solstice-class ships, we decided to try the "world's largest cruise ship" for my 60th birthday. We made the most of it and enjoyed ourselves, but it was no thanks to Royal Caribbean. We will sail on Celebrity again but not the namesake cruise line. Ever. Although I know some people love the design of the Oasis-class ships, we were appalled that the primary interior public space, the cavernous Royal Promenade on Deck 5, looked just like any generic shopping mall. It has no windows to provide even a glimpse of the sea and it's very gloomy, especially during the day. Because one of our favorite things to do is sit inside, in comfortable chairs, and read or play cards and have coffee while looking out at the ocean, this was a huge disappointment. I'm an early riser, and the only place to get coffee and pastry that's open 24 hours a day is the Cafe Promenade off the Royal Promenade, so all we had was a view of the "mall." Adding to the gloom was the brownish gray wood-grain wall treatment used throughout the ship to poor effect. (Flashback to 1960s basement "rec rooms" with ersatz wood paneling.) Central Park, on Deck 8, is attractive but seating is limited and most of it quite hard and uncomfortable. The Windjammer Marketplace buffet was not open during off hours, regrettably. I don't know why it would hurt to leave it open, but it is what it is. The Windjammer was also terribly crowded at breakfast and they managed to keep running out of eggs. The food was better there at lunch and dinner. However, the coffee was often tepid, because the coffee urns aren't heated so if you don't catch it in the first 15 minutes of the urn being replaced, the coffee isn't hot. At least three times I went around to six different coffee urns and poured six cups of cold coffee! Unbelievable. We also had our worst service ever on a cruise ship in the main dining room for lunch. It took us 15 minutes after we were seated to flag someone down for our drinks, and once we got them no one ever came back to our table. Of the four specialty restaurants we visited, only 150 Central Park was truly good, and it was very good. At Jamie's Italian and Chops, we were served cold food, and at Wonderland we endured Royal Caribbean's embarrassing attempt at molecular gastronomy, but we did have one nice dish there, the Branzino. On the other hand, the Greek buffet served at dinner at the Solarium Bistro, on Deck 14, was quite good, and we also enjoyed a couple of breakfasts there and at Johnny Rockets (no surcharge at breakfast). We had lunch one day at the Mexican restaurant Sabor (everything is priced a la carte) and it was fairly good. We had dinner just once in the main dining room and it was, surprisingly, very good. (Too bad we bought a four-night specialty dining package.) The highlight of the ship was our veranda stateroom, 12-192, which was very nice, and our attendant, Margaret, was excellent. Embarkation and disembarkation was very efficient, as was getting on and off the ship at our ports of call. We also enjoyed the jogging path on Deck 5 that encircles the ship. Read Less

We have sailed on many cruises and have not been as disappointed as we were on this ship. We have sailed Carnival, Norwegian, Holland America, Costa, and are Diamond on RCL. On the day of departure we left 3 hours late due to the unfortunate shootings at the airport the day before. Kudos to RCL for waiting for people and their luggage! RCL was exceeding our expectations already Then everything rolled down hill fast. We went to Johnny Rockets for dinner and ordered burgers. Very gristly meat that you could hardly chew. Mentioned it to the server and he said he would get us another one....no thanks! Would not take it off bill. Another night we ate at Chops, slow service, and certainly not the quality of meat that we have been accustomed to, and the red velvet cake was very dry. On day 6, my husband ended up with food poisoning eating at Salernos pizza. Needless to say we didn't gain any weight on this cruise!!!!! Another thing...room service...you are now charged $3.00 for eggs...really?? When we got to get into our cabin, there was a dental pick and dental floss on the carpeting..was it ever vaccumed after the last cruise? On departure day my husband forgot his Cubs jacket and his cell phone laying on the bed. He didn't realize it until we went through customs. No problem..cabin attendant will turn it in....wrong!! I called RCL and they said they would look into it. Called next day and said it was not turned in. Hmmm..funny how that worked, when he knew for fact where he left it. Hopefully this does not carry over to the other ships. We are sailing on the Oasis in March and hopefully RCL will be back on track for their excellent service we have been accustomed to. If not...time to look into other cruise lines!!! THE BEST THING ON THIS CRUISE WAS THE 7TH HEAVEN BAND!! BAR NONE, TOP NOTCH Read Less

The highlight of the cruise was eating at Jamie's Italian Restaurant. Food was fabulous!!! If we had known it was going to be that good, we would have eaten there many times earlier in the week, but our meal was toward the end of the cruise. The food in the main dining room was horrible beyond horrible. We tried to eat the food two different evenings, and both times we left without finishing. Service was bad, food was overcooked and bland. The Cafe Promenade is poorly arranged. They need to go back the way it is on the Oasis and Allure. Again the food is not that great. Same offerings every day--doesn't change. The once-famous highly-desired juicy roast beef sandwiches in the Park Cafe are no longer desirable, that is unless you like dry, overcooked, and stringy roast beef. We tried them two different days and the roast beef was the same each day...unedible. Very sad to see so much food left on people's plates--mainly the roast beef. Many salads also left uneaten too mainly because of the tasteless brand of now-being-used pre-packaged salad dressings. The Diamond Lounge is like an after-thought. It used to be where Wonder Land now is. The area where the old ever-so-small Comedy Club used to be is what they converted. The lounge is now too small with no windows. It feels like a closet. On other ships, we utilized the Diamond Lounge several times during the day to read, play cards, grab a cappuccino...just relax and enjoy the quietness. We never used to miss the cocktail hour and watching the sunsets from all the windows. We went one time to the new-and-improved (?????) Diamond Lounge on the Harmony. It was too claustrophic--what a disappointment to those of us who are "Loyal to Royal". Guess it is time to switch to a new cruise line... The balcony cabins had more than usual storage, so that was a plus.Liked the new layout of the bathroom too. Better balcony furniture too. The service was not what we are accustomed to. This seemed like it should have been a first time inaugural cruise, as many of the staff had no answers to questions, or the wrong answers to questions. The casino slot machines were "tighter" than on other ships, and the smokers were even more rude than normal (if that is possible). Very poor ventilation in the casino. Sorry for all of the negative comments, but we most likely will not cruise on the Harmony any time soon. They have a lot of issues to resolve. Read Less

WOW! What a experience on this ship. Getting on the ship was a very smooth process. The food on the ship is pretty good. The restaurants are amazing. I HIGHLY recommend the 150 restaurant. If you are a big drinker you MUST by your drink package before you get on board because it is cheaper. We brought Yeti cups for our water whitewash a huge help. The safety drill at the beginning of the cruise was a joke. If a EMERGENCY was to arise on the ship I don't think anyone would know what to do. During the cruise I went down to medical to get my son some immodium, he was filling sick from eating a huge plate of nachos while at Port in Puerto Rico. They overreacted and send him to his room for 24 hours. They said he was not able to get off the ship in Haiti. If they would have spent more time evaluating him they could have seen that he was NOT ill. DO NOT go down to medical to get anything UNLESS you are truly ill. After this happened I went down to Guest Services with my son to try to resolve the issue and we were treated VERY bad by the security guard. He barged into the office that we were speaking to the Guest Relations manager and said he would put my son in the jail downstairs or put us off the ship in Haiti if he did not return to the room immediately. They offered to compensate us by giving us a discount on our next cruise. This I thought was a crazy!! Why in the world wouldn't you work to make the cruise we were currently on a better experience? The final night of the cruise we did the Chefs table that was amazing. The food was good and the wine wonderful. The last night I started noticing bug bites on me. After being home a few days I know realized I left eh ship with BED BUGS!!!!! Ugh this is not a ship that I recommend. #royalcaribbeanworstcruise #royalcaribbeanbadservice #wontcruiseroyal Read Less
