We chose the Harmony of the Seas specifically for the intinerary of St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Perfect Day at Coco Cay. The cruise ship did not disappoint us. We didn't have to change the itin but Hurricane Tammy made for some really rough seas. We experienced some 12-15 foot swells. Made for some serious rocking and rolling even on this massive ship. Luckily no one in our group experienced any seasickness and for the most part we laughed and had fun with the wobbles for a day or so. They had to close the pool when it became a "wave pool". The crew was wonderful! We had nothing but good interactions with the crew. Everyone was friendly, helpful and happy to have us onboard. Of course there were quite a few naysayers and complainers. I always fail to understand what people expect when they are on a cruise ship with over 5000 passengers. We sailed with a total of 6 family and friends. Each of us was able to find something to eat in the MDR on the nights we dined there. Yes the menu changed but we didn't find it lacking. It isn't 5 star dining but it was certainly a wonderful treat not to cook and clean up!

MDR- We had Late Traditional Seating in the Deck 4 dining room. Wait staff was excellent and we all enjoyed the interactions. We laughed, joked and had a great time with them. We learned about where they are from, how they came to work on a cruise ship. The best part of traditional dining is having the same wait staff every night. They get to know us by name, know what we like and don't like, had our preferred beverages on the table just as soon as we sat down. And they were excited to be repositioning to Galveston.

We ate at Sabor one night (date night). The food was very good, had a good Tex/Mex flavor and the staff was attentive. The only thing we found negative was the guacamole wasn't spicy enough. It tasted very good, just needed more hot spice to it. Others in the group ate at Izumi and Jamie's Italian. I won't give any review here except to say they enjoyed their dinners and the only complaint I heard was there was too much food.

Cabin Review

Cabin is a little bit on the small size but had plenty of room for 2 people. Lots of closet space and drawers. One negative is there was no power connection on one side of the bed. The bathroom was roomy. The balcony had plenty of room. There were two chairs with ottomans and small side table. We enjoyed room service breakfast one sea day, ate with the beautiful sunrise and the ocean sounds.
