Sail Date: Oct 2023
Traveled with children

We sailed on Harmony last year at the same time. This year, we noticed significant downgrades in the quality of food, shows, and cleanliness. The buffet food was disgusting, not to mention that they served chicken every day. They no longer had a roast beef or seafood night. Dry chicken and pork every day, but cooked with different spices. They no longer had a decent gourmet selection of cheeses and sliced meats. Instead, they served the same cheap bologna and salami with sliced cheddar and provolone cheese every single day (lunch and dinner). The stir fry station, pasta station, hot dogs and hamburgers remained the same for both lunch and dinner. For lunch, they served left over breakfast sausages and other things. I’m not sure what their hamburger and lunch sausage was made of, but it was not meat. They no longer had blue cheese dressing. They no longer had a gigantic cake night or cheesecake. Instead, their deserts consisted mostly of ice cream, jello, and mousse cups. I can go on endlessly comparing before and after. I had to skip breakfast every day and a few lunches and dinners because I either couldn’t find anything half way decent to eat or was tired of the same dry chicken and pork they served. The formal dining room menu didn’t look much better, except the last two dinners when they served lobster and lamb. This year, they limited one lobster per person, unless you want to pay for an additional one $16.99.

Besides gross food, we also noticed significant decline in quality of shows . We checked into a room that was not vacuumed and had dirty drawers and a dirty toilet. Actually, a lot of the public bathrooms smelled like strong urine. The kids center was disorganized. At times, it took us 30 minutes waiting in line to check our kid in because the workers were chit chattering with each parents while their was a 20-30 people like waiting outside the door. Their Vitality spa is pathetic. The smaller ships have free sauna, but Harmony does not. Also, their spa area (sauna, steam room, thermal beds) are unisex and the showers have no curtains! The sauna was cold. They raised parking to $30 per night! We’ve sailed with Royal Caribbean for the last 7 years every year, sometimes twice a year, except Covid, and this was the first time we had such a bad experience. We’ll be looking to sail with other cruise lines going forward.
