I was very happy to sail on the Sunshine, Carnival did a wonderful job. We lucked out this week while others were unsure of their sailing to the Caribbean, Bermuda was beautiful. We did have rain the first day but that was it all other days was clear sailing. Leaving out of NYC was good (I never experience a problem) we waited a bit for the ship to clear, and was boarding in no time. We went up ...
This was my third cruise, all with Carnival. The Sunshine is a beautiful ship, and very nicely remodeled. We did a 7 night cruise from NYC to Bermuda in October. Yes, risky weather, but all in all very good.
Cabin - we had an inside cabin, deck 8 forward - best place ever to have a room. It was centrally located, and only one deck from coffee. NIcely appointed, and plenty of room for the two ...
I been on many cruises. This was the best to date. This is one ship I will be looking to sail with again. The crew works hard, and all are very friendly. There is many food choices for anytime you think you need to eat. Many of the crew you talk to remember you name. The drink waiters were not pushy, you are not bothered all day asking if you are thursty. I found that to be very nice, some ships ...
Before embarking on our cruise, I read a ton of reviews about the Carnival Sunshine and was shocked at how many were negative and sometimes over-the-top negative. It is a shame that those who felt the need to write such negative reviews had such a miserable experience on what should be one of the best times of their lives. As with anything in life, our vacation was far from perfect but it was a ...
Only complaint was the cooler than expected on board temperatures. Servers went out of their way to please, even reheating our main course when we were not ready to eat it We always received extra food items that we did not order. Entertainment was great and there was a lot of it all over the ship. CD Emma was able to engage passengers to sing and dance along. Production shows were amazing! ...
We traveled on the Carnival Sunshine September 24-October 1, 2016. It was our first Carnival Cruise, and it will be our last. The ship is very old and outdated. We had a spa balcony room, and it was tiny, tiny, tiny. The color scheme in the room, bright yellow and bright turquoise, was hideous. We hardly ever saw our room steward, so we did not tip him, which led to him turning the water off to ...
First time for New England cruise. Older passengers, great ship, and wonderful staff. Food was average but the service was great. Ports were alright but not something we would rush back to. Ship was not crowded even though it was sold out. Plenty to eat and do. The staff made up for some of the rough spots like the first dinner night. Food was slow coming out and when we received it it was ...
Wanted to cruise New England/Canada and chose Carnival due to past positive cruises on other ships from their fleet. This ship is difficult to navigate from aft to mid and forward on many deck levels. Elevators noted not to stop on mid level decks when coming from upper decks i.e.: 10 or 11 or from lower decks 4-5, and noted very slow!
Disembarking in Halifax port was very poor having to wait ...
We were on the Sunshine New England Cruise Sept 17- 24, 2016. The over trip was ok. The food in the main dining room could have been better. Chicken breast dried out. Baked potatoes was cold and hard. The butter wouldn't even melt. I must say other food items were good. The lobster tail was very good, the Oyster Rockefeller were good. I was very surprised the pork chops were moist. They had ...
We chose this cruise because we have never gone north on a cruise and were anxious to visit Maine and Canadian ports. We were looking forward to seeing the colorful fall, but because of the hot dry summer, leaves had not changed yet. This cruise was affordable since there were three of us in my party, but I can see why it was affordable. Although our cabin stewardess, wait staff and the little ...
