We were on the Sunshine New England Cruise Sept 17- 24, 2016. The over trip was ok. The food in the main dining room could have been better. Chicken breast dried out. Baked potatoes was cold and hard. The butter wouldn't even melt. I must say other food items were good. The lobster tail was very good, the Oyster Rockefeller were good. I was very surprised the pork chops were moist. They had mostly the same items on the menu every night. Breakfast was good. same things most mornings. Finally found the omelet station. Very good omelets made to order.
Entertainment was so so. . We did catch 3 shows.
The serenity pool was cold one day hot the next two days and then cold again. We were told the heater in the pool was broken.
Great cabin, nice balcony and not far from stairway. You did have thumping from the music, we figured it was from the Liquid Lounge.
We were dropped off at the pier an headed right up to fill out customs cards. I had the FTF so we avoided the long line.
We walked from the pier to Yankee Lobster Co. but it was to early to eat lunch. So we walked to Quincy Market and shopped. Then headed back to have lunch at Yankee Lobster Co. My husband wanted to try the Macaroni and Lobster as seen on Tv and I had the Cod cakes. Very good food. We were right at the Harpon Brewery, so we stopped in and tasted some samples. I tried their Lemonade. You could do a tour if you wanted. We did not. You could watch thru the glass walls.
We walked from the pier on to the main street. . There were all sort of venders along the waterfront. We did do a trolley tour after talking to one of the man on the main street. It was very informative about the city of Portland.
