After reading so many bad reviews for MSC Magnifica we very nearly cancelled our booking as we had never cruised with MSC before but we decided to make our own minds up and go ahead with the cruise dispite the reviews!! We have previously sailed with Pand O many times Celebrity,Disney,Cunard and Carnival so we have tried many cruise lines before so we embarked in Southampton which is ideal as ...

We have never sailed with MSC before but thought we would give it a try. We were aware that it is an Italian based cruise line and there would be a mix of nationalities, with announcements in different languages, and kept an open mind on how well this would work. Embarkation was quick and smooth, about 15 t0 20mins from entering the terminal. First impressions of the ship were good. Quite ...

Thank you to previous review writers of this cruise ship. Our expectations were fairly low with all the negative reviews, but we still booked because we liked the ports . Surprise, we loved the ship. I should point out I’ve also travelled on bigger ships with the Celebrity and Norwegian lines. Many complained about the meals. We found them delicious ( except for one night) Some complained ...

Disappointing

Wanted to try a new Cruise line. Embarking close to our location. “All Inclusive” drink package excludes many items, hard to know what’s included. Tiny library lacking any press, hardly any books etc. Restaurants (included in the price ) are trying to sell lobster and steak for x-tra 19-22 €. Sahara and Oasis bistros: except for fresh fruit are not worth a visit. Aurea ...

We were there for a family trip, we were 22 and many different ages, so we have lots of different points of views. I know this is an old ship, so I cannot criticize the low ceilings and small spaces. We are used to Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. The average age of most of the passengers here was about 75, so the kids and teens didn’t have much to do. Almost everyone was European. I will start ...

Don't believe all the bad reviews - some people just complain about anything! Check in at Southampton. Was the quickest check-in we have ever experienced. Was done in less than 2 minutes. We were on the ship in our cabin in just a few minutes. We chose a cabin at the rear of the ship. There was slightly less storage space than other cabins we have been in but that was the only negative. The ...

Immaculate ship, let down by only average food and poor entertainment

First time with MSC; chose cruise because of the itinerary - Le Havre, La Coruna, Bilbao, Le Verdon sur Mer, Amsterdam and Hamburg. Also the price seemed quite reasonable. We breezed through check-in at Southampton in a couple of minutes - having previously checked-in online and uploaded our photos - although our bags took a couple of hours to arrive at the cabin. Everywhere on the ship is ...

Well usually I am not very fussy. I have sailed with celebrity and RC previously and had a great time. This is my first time on MSC. Well where can I start. The dinning experience was horrendous and I have stopped using the main dinning hall and opted for the the buffett choice restaurant instead. The food is not edible and tasteless despite the head chef been english supposedly., the service was ...
