We love going to new ports and most of these ports were new to us. As usual we loved Serenade even though she is showing a little wear. Can't wait to see her after the November 2017 refurbishment. Our cabin was in a loud location and we would never choose that location again even though it had a large balcony, 8604. We were very disappointed in the new menus for the MDR. Many guests we spoke with ...
We've sailed Royal about a dozen times but were very disappointed with this cruise. There was no attention to detail. The food was boring and mediocre at best. Desserts? Jello and pudding every night. Nothing fancy; nothing sugar free. Little or nothing to do at sea except play bingo, drink, go to the pool. Near the end of the cruise, there was a couple of line dancing classes and napkin folding. ...
The ship is showing it's age, but is still nice to sail on. The getting on was very smooth, our stateroom 7136 was ready on time and our attendant was very good. The standard of the food although very high has dipped below the usual R.C.I standard, we put this down to the cruiseline trying to get guests to choose to dine in the speciality dining rooms. We asked if the chef could cook a crepe ...
My wife and I sailed on Serenade of the Seas for its 10 night itinerary to the Southern Caribbean. We booked the cruise many months in advance and shopped for the best deal we could find for a longer cruise sailing from Florida since we live in Florida. We chose the cruise because we had sailed on a Radiance Class ship in the past and enjoyed it. We also liked the amount of sea days and the ...
This was my 6th cruise with Royal Caribbean. They have started scrimping on everything. The food in the Windjammer was good for breakfast, but horrible for lunch and dinner. It seemed like they served leftovers and made them into a stew or soup.
The sliced meat used to be roast beef or turkey or ham. This time it was pork shoulder or beef round. It was tough and gross. The dining room was a ...
After a 7 night cruise to Bermuda on the Anthem in May 2016 I was very apprehensive about cruising on a much smaller ship but the dates and location of our November cruise on the Serenade was perfect so we booked and we were pleasantly surprised.
Good points:
1, Embarkation was perfect, really quick and efficient
2, Room (ocean view) was as expected and clean
With only 2100 guests we ...
After many cruises on Celebrity, including one to the Southern Caribbean last November we chose this cruise on Serenade to experience RCCL and because of the ports and length of the cruise.
We like to cruise at this time of year for the beautiful weather and temperature so different from Northern Europe. The first difference we noticed was that on Celebrity last year a good percentage of the ...
It was our first cruise and we had fun. The food in the dining room was good, the shows were entertaining and our room was lovely. The staff was helpful for first time cruisers and it was easy to learn the layout of the ship. It would be nice to include more shore excursions for wheelchair accessible needs, but my husband found many he could go on.
Entertainment was found in many venues. ...
The dates and ports worked for us. The weather was great, the ship, not so good. This was my 7th cruise and the amenities were the worst. To give you an idea of how they think about food.....they listed the main dining room as complimentary dining. The entertainment was woeful with the exception of the comedian. Zumba was great. Finding food after being in port was nearly impossible....only two ...
Well...we have only started cruising for years ago. During that time we stayed loyal to Royal but I must say that the quality of the Serenade of the Seas was a bit...disappointing. It's an older ship and in need of renovation on a lot of things: The food in the Windjammer and the main dining room needs more variation! For the Windjammer, after 5 days of broccoli (which I like as a vegetable) you ...
