After many cruises on Celebrity, including one to the Southern Caribbean last November we chose this cruise on Serenade to experience RCCL and because of the ports and length of the cruise.

We like to cruise at this time of year for the beautiful weather and temperature so different from Northern Europe. The first difference we noticed was that on Celebrity last year a good percentage of the passengers were Europeans or Scandinavians whereas on RCCL the majority of the passengers seemed to be from the USA and Canada.

Boarding in Fort Lauderdale was swift and easy but the departure was chaotic and long. Having booked a preflight tour through RCCL we left the theatre at 08.00 hoping to start our sightseeing tour of Miami at 8.30 but there were only 2 customs officials on duty so we were not through and on the bus before 10.00! This tour is a good offer for those with late international flights and certainly worth the price. We arrived at Miami airport at 13.00 which was ideal.

Excellent location which was very quiet and near the lifts.
