We chose this cruise because friends who live in the USA were boarding in New York and it was an ideal opportunity to meet up with them. MSC DID WELL: the nightly entertainment was excellent. Jennifer Tierney had such a powerful voice. The ship singers and dancers were superb and well choreographed. The 3 tenors performance was exceptional. The room stewards and main dining room staff worked very hard to ensure we were well looked after. We have always said that we love the crossings and love the QM2. Indeed we have crossed the Atlantic about 13 times on the QM2. But the serious issues with this crossing make us wonder if we are making a poor choice and whether we will ever return.

The ship was beautiful but not many windows in bars and coffee shops. The staff were hit and miss many of them could not speak English , some were just plain rude.
The food was mediocre no where near as much choice as other cruise lines . Ice cream was chargeable so was cinema bowling etc. the daily activities were sparse .

This was our third Queen Mary 2 cruise and our 145 total cruise. After our first QM2 crossing my wife and I were determined not to repeat using it. We chose this cruise for the destinations. Those did not disappoint. However our experience with the staff was unpleasant at best.
For example,
1. In the wine bar, we asked our server for a napkin to wipe our table from a previous occupants spill and we were told we had to go to another bar to get one. When we did, it was closed.

* You can enjoy a variety of included food options, plus you can roam freely, even throughout one evening. No fixed timing or location. That’s quite unique and great!
* ship feels like new, nice cabins and (small) bathrooms
