Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

19 day re-positioning cruise Copenhagen to New Orleans. Staff, cabin stewards, bar staff all excellent and helpful. Management was terrible from top to bottom. Free Style was a joke as there were lines everywhere and you had to make reservations. Every docking ended with long lines. Unecessary stop in Miami was short and entailed a 4 hour wait in the terminal. Every question to Guest Services ...

We selected this cruise because I was attending a watercolor workshop. I enjoyed the course thoroughly. However, the location the ship provided was in a dark club painted black with limited lighting, their staff assisted us to have tables under the best lighting fixtures. The ship is very large and lacks good and quiet areas around the ship to just read and relax. In fact, at the last refit a ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and we love sea days. We didn't expect it to be 7 sea days in a row. After reading the other reviews, I totally agree with the comments of the reviewers. NCL really failed on this cruise for the things they had control over. The cabin and room steward was excellent. The ship was too big with too many people crowed in a small space like the ...

I have gone many transatlantic cruises but this was one is one for the books. They were understaffed. Took forever to get dinner, lunch at the restaurants. The ship was not prepared for this cruise. I will never do ncl on a transatlantic again. Entertaining was good if you were a sardine and squeezeed into small rooms. Everyone was hacking or sneezing. Wasnt for the drink package it would of been ...

We were looking for that “once in a lifetime” experience and thought this cruise might be it!! It ended up being an endless experience of trying my patience. As this is a HUGE ship and we were told the passenger list was around 3700, the number, length, and time spent waiting in line was ridiculous. We are not seasoned ocean cruisers and this ship seemed like it was full of people who do nothing ...

As a recommendation from close friends we were convinced that this would be the prefect way to get "out feet wet" with cruising. Our friends had been on many cruises before this and certainly knew the ropes. What we found was endless lines of people for every event ranging from mandatory passport inspections, to dining (even with reservations), to entertainment, to going to our planned ...

1. When we left Scandic hotel in Copenhagen we asked a Princess rep in the hotel how to buy a ticket for a shuttle to the airport. She rudely said we hadn’t pre-booked one so to “find your own way there”. The taxi cost about 250 Danish crowns. 2. We lined up in the priority boarding line up and it was much slower than the regular line because so few non-platinum people were embarking. A waste ...

Over the past 12 years we have cruised with NCL 13 different cruises. We had always wanted to visit some of the Baltic countries, especially Russia. This particular cruise covered most of our wish list. Two / three months after we booked this cruise and made our airline reservations, we were sent an email stating that do to a port scheduling conflict we would not be making the port stop in ...

The cruise went to the Baltic Sea in early September. It was my first cruise. Other cruise lines offer a similar itinerary. Great The ports: Tallin, St Petersburg, and Helsinki were great. I booked TJ Travel for Tallin (walking tour), and St Petersburg (all highlights tour) and the NCL walking tour for Helsinki. The guides, the sights, the culture were all fabulous and I intend to return to ...
