Viking is known for its impeccable quality in cruises ; they did not disappoint ! Service, food, ship, all excellent. The stateroom was nicely appointed and serviced twice a day. Our room steward was extremely attentive. The bed was firm but comfortable. Dining was very good. Several restaurants to choose from. The world cafe buffet was a bit crowded several nights , but we managed and the ...
We have done two Viking River cruises and they were fantastic, this Ocean cruise was just OK. Our Air arrangements made by Viking were horrible. They wouldn't get us preassigned seats until 24 hours before the flight and the Airline said we probably would not be sitting together. I called and complained to Viking and they blamed the Airline, but Viking was the one that chose the cheapest fare ...
We have never been on Viking and were anxious to try them. We picked this cruise because it ended in Barcelona. First, managing the pre-cruise was a nitemare. Viking was no help and the system was terrible. They sell out shore excursions to hi-end before balcony cabins have a chance. Help for figuring out covid requirements per country was non existent. On our connection flight we landed to find ...
Only 2nd ocean cruise with Viking. Trip in 2017 was seamless. Not this time. Even though Viking was generous to give us full refunding with additional funds for re-booking our 2019 trip, the trip had serious problems. Firstly, booking us on Air Canada through Toronto to Barcelona was a terrible choice. Over 30 passengers were stranded because Air Canada had a 3 hour delay forcing most of us ...
Overall it was a good time, but I have to tell you, the food was a major disappointment. The food was presented very well, and looked good to the eye, but did not taste that great. Pancakes and waffles were cold and stale, and the other food was not seasoned very well. I am not sure they used butter in anything. The best food we had on the journey was on the shore excursions. The Ship was ...
This cruise started as a river cruise but it was canceled twice so we opted for an ocean cruise. We heard viking was a notch above the rest which turned out not to be true. The cruise started out of San Juan we paid to transfers to and from the airport and were expecting an agent to meet us at the airport, nobody was there and not we are outside the security zone of the airport had to walk around ...
As always, the service staff was exceptional, from our arrival in Barcelona to our departure at Heathrow. The restaurant professionals were courteous, pleasant and friendly, unlike many of the guests. May I suggest hiring some entertainers and staff from the destinations being traveled. That was a feature that made our Russian voyage so richly rewarding.
Evidently, the Brits received a much ...
Viking ships were known to us. We chose the Eastern Seaboard cruise because this is an area we were not familiar with. The standard of onboard living was excellent. The cabin appeared spotlessly clean and the dining to a high standard as we had experienced on previous voyages. Embarkation and disembarkation was smooth and well organised. Viking say that they place emphasis on the ports of call but ...
Viking Cruise Trans-Atlantic September 2019
Our cruises are always chosen for their itinerary, but after that, of course, the cruise line is a major consideration. We came across the “In the Wake of the Vikings” cruise with Viking Ocean Cruises, a line new to us, back in early 2018, but we were not free at the time, so we expressed an interest with Viking for the 2019 sailing, through our local ...
embarking was quick and easy. once we were on the ship at 3.30pm we were advised that the ship would be leaving that night instead of the original plan of the next evening due to weather which meant we missed the port of Bergen as it was too late to do anything that day. Big seas means we also missed Shetland Islands and Faroe Islands. instead we made for Iceland and had 2 make up ports of ...
