We have cruised with P&O and NCL and decided to do a Royal Caribbean taster cruise before we committed to booking a full cruise for us and our children.

We chose this cruise because of the stops in Iceland and Greenland, so the other ports were a bonus. The ports were good overall, but I would look carefully at the excursions offered from the cruise line and investigate ones on your own. We used Saga tours for tours in Iceland and Greenland. The cabin was as expected. Very clean. The bathroom sink had shallow cracks in it. The shower faucet had obviously been repaired but not well. There was a sharp hole in the left side handle. We chose this ship because we sailed on it in 2013 and were very happy with it except for the food but that was fine. When we saw the condition the ship was in and our cabin, we just couldn't believe it. It was tired, run down, dirty and very unattractive. The Jewel of the Seas, although old was impressively maintained. Our cabin, 1102 had original fittings with the added new style flat screen TV. Slightly concerned being at the back of the ship we may experience soot on the balcony but we didn't. Noise from Windjammers above was apparent but not loud enough to bother us really.
