This Old Lady Still Got It Go'n-On

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Sun

On Deck 6 & 12 there are many, many inaugural port plaques on the wall. An impressive display that says this ship has-been-there-done-that. Built in 2001 it's age shows here and there but the 2018 refurbishment has definately invigorated the beauty, comfort and cruising experience aboard this ship...As veteran cruisers we've come to anticipate and expect bells & whistles, spacious contemporary ...

Nice getaway on a smaller ship

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Sun

I'm writing from the point of view of someone that has cruised with Disney a few times and loved it (but it was too expensive) and did quite a few Carnival cruises (cheap, but inconsistent quality). We had heard that Norwegian fits somewhere in between these 2 options, and based on our first NCL experience on the Sun, we agree. While the entertainment and service are no where near Disney Cruise ...

Good All Round Cruise - but Be Prepared!

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Summary: Excellent service as always, food good in all complimentary options and excellent in speciality options, and plenty of choice for things to do both on the ship and on excursions. However, if you are not organised from the word go, you may be disappointed when you cannot select your dining or excursion options. Equally, some of the ports are tendered on this particular itinerary, and do ...

My friends and I have been on 3 Norwegian cruises and this last one topped them all. Although we missed out on 2 of our ports due to weather and it was 2nd time not being able to see Great Stirrup Caye, we still had a blast thanks to the staff. Kasi, one of the bartenders made every day special. His personality and helpfulness was above and beyond what I expected. By the end of the trip he had me ...

Pleasant return to the larger ships

Although, we had been to these ports several times before, we had not tried out the Breakaway and this cruise put us into platinum. This time going our of Orlando, we stayed in Coco Beach, Courtyard Marriott. We went in a day early and stayed over a day after the cruise. Hotel was excellent, will post on TripAdvisor. We ate both lunch and dinner at the Pier. We used CoCo Beach Shuttle to ...

Breezin' through a Journeys Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Breeze

This was a 14 day Journeys cruise. With mostly older passengers and a ton of Platinum & Diamond sailing it was not your typical cruise. Embarkation was a dream. Debarkation was a nightmare...because of so many platinum (which I am ) and Diamond guests all trying to get off the ship ASAP when we docked in Port Canaveral. Not a normal situation but one I feel Carnival staff could have been ...

Good budget cruise

First let me tell you the best part of this cruise; the price. 5 out of 5 I found a super deal on an inside room. $149 pp for a 5 day cruise is crazy. I did bid on an upgrade but it was not accepted. Entertainment 3 out of 5. The comedian was horrible, just not funny at all. The games were good and they forewarned about potential adult content when present. The Singers/Dancers were ...

Enjoyable Cruise

We chose this cruise due to the reasonable prices. We normally cruise Celebrity, Princess or Royal Caribbean but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this ship. I was concerned about it feeling too crowded after reading other reviews but the ship has many different areas that make it feel more intimate and private. CABIN- we had a mini-suite as our daughter was staying in the room ...

We had a great time on this ship! Loved the entertainment! Six was amazing! The Waterfront was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view! Especially at Shakers, the martini bar. Do yourself a favor and try the Rum Cake Martini as an after dinner drink! The ropes course was lots of fun! Our only real complaint was the chair hogging around the pool deck. Wish more was done to prevent this. ...

This was our 15th cruise and 3rd on NCL. I had a great time but that said, would probably pick a different class of ship next time. This was the largest ship we have been on and think we prefer the 3,000 passenger size better. Breakaway had a ton of options to try but if you are looking for a traditional ship feel then this wasn’t it. Embarkation at Port Canaveral was the smoothest and ...
