Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Island Princess

If you’re over 65, this is the perfect cruise for you. For anyone younger, get ready to be surrounded by the elderly with minimal activities. I was disappointed by the lack of activities planned by the cruise staff. I used to say you could never get bored on a cruise ship, but this trip proved me wrong. Definitely more of a relaxed vibe. The indoor pool is nice on colder days and the lounge chairs ...

Time to retire the Island Princess

The Island Princess is 21 years old. We cruised on her, her first year through the Panama canal. She is a charming smallish ship ( our sailing only had 1700 out of 2200) with lovely details. However, it is time to retire the Island. Out of ten days we had five with no hot water at all. One with no water! One with no toilet. Our aft suite was lovely. The sofa was only a love seat ( not full size). ...

My last voyage on this ship a few years ago was at the same time of the same month on the same itinerary so the comparisons should be valid. First, it was a very nice cruise and we sat at a great table for eight with a mix of voyagers from the USA, Canada and Germany. The ship was spotless and our room steward was the best we have had in years. Unfortunately, the rest of the trip across the ...

I complained on the first day about the controls in my room for a/c. Was told they would be looked at. The next six days at sea I needed heat. I complained four more times. I was given a blanket. My room temp was about 64 degrees. Cold. No heat ever came from the vent. The food was bland and terrible. English comprehension of most staff was poor to substandard. Case in point. Numerous times I ...

It went beyond all our expectations. The majesty of the liner itself, we first saw from the train we traveled on, being greeted on board by uniformed staff was very impressive indeed, the opulent interior and A Princess balcony cabin…. Wow…. Food, service and facilities were amazing and a great many menus to choose from, and lots of alcohol free beverages to choose from free of charge. . And we ...

Settled my on line account with a debit card...several hundred...then surprise surprise today they have debited almost the same amount! Leaving me overdrawn...thankfully my bank contacted me. I rang Cunard and they blamed the bank and said it was ' preauthorised" not held by them and the bank would return in 7 - 10days...the money is gone and no reply to my emails as yet...left a bad taste. ...

This was our 2nd cruise on the QM2. The ship itself was beautiful. Very well maintained. The room was very comfortable and our maid was excellent. Since this was a round trip cruise from Brooklyn, somethings repeated themselves. Most of the night time entertainment was good. The biggest issue we had with this cruise was the food. We ate most meals in the Britannia but also went to the ...

First impressions are everything !! Waiting hours to board when we showed up 2 hours late because ship was late. Wheelchair customers were only being taken 2 at a time with 20 minute wait between the next set of two. They didn’t finish boarding handicap customers until 6pm… shameful !!! Over the crew were outstanding but management were clueless !! When we got to Dublin we waited over 2 hours ...
