Overall, the cruise was nice, for those things that Carnival had control of. This is the second time I have left from Long Beach, and they have definitely improved the embarkment process. This was a land cruise tour for me and my wife to celebrate her birthday and our 47th Anniversary. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian village. Our dissatisfaction started here when it took a half an hour to get hot water in the morning. When we went to the front desk, the lady said you must be in the Tapa Tower. We knew the weather on sea days in December was iffy, and it was. Rough seas, high winds and clouds don’t make for great days at sea. It’s nice that they have a retractable roof on the Lido pool area. The Splendor is ready for a rehab. She’s showing some wear and tear. The crew was great! Anyone booking this cruise during November or December should be aware this is apparently NCL's scheduled maintenance time of year, so it is possible you will not get the full itinerary you have paid for. My wife bought this cruise to Hawaii for my 60th birthday. The one thing we loved was there was never anyone in your face at dinner,lunch,ect taking pictures of you. We love the freestyle dinning. I have sailed on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and now NCL. Other than the ports of call, the cruise was pitiful.
