This was a land cruise tour for me and my wife to celebrate her birthday and our 47th Anniversary. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian village. Our dissatisfaction started here when it took a half an hour to get hot water in the morning. When we went to the front desk, the lady said you must be in the Tapa Tower. It is old and you have to run the water for a half an hour. We did not enjoy this cruise because over attitude of the crew was subpar because they were not friendly. The ships officers were also distant and non verbal. The food was mediocre at best unless you ate at the restaurants that charged extra. The ala carte restaurants were really expensive because you had to pay for every item you ordered. The ports and shore excursions were very good except for the food at the luau on Kauai. The luau show was outstanding.
The king sized bed made this stateroom's floor space very limited. It was hard for two people to move around at the same time. Of the other five cruise lines I have used, this was the most expensive. The settee was hard to sit on because it wanted to open into a bed if you sit down. Storage was minimum.
It was fun walking around town taking pictures of the sites and the banyan tree.
Toured two nurseries with many flowers and orchids. Went to the Hilo Coffee Co.
Toured a coffee plantation and a chocolate plantation.
