Absolutely brilliant! Loved everything about the cruise, from the moment I was picked up in Cairo I felt cared for, safe and they treated me like a queen. Hospitality like I’ve never experienced before. The food, the service, the friendships I formed were incredible. The best cruise experience of my life. We left from Luxor and had over a week on board the SS Sphinx with captain Sameh and his ...

My husband and I, got to the ship on the 1st March 202 to be told go away for 2hrs. Umm we thought not a good start!. Before boarding no refreshmentsoffered which normally happens on MSC. Room was clean on arrival, and was cleaned daily. No attention to detail but that was fine, felt sorry for the young man as he never stopped. The ship was like a hop on hop off bus, so we had safety ...

Once in a lifetime Nile River Cruise with Viking

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Viking Osiris

The whole experience on board exceeded expectations. We had a wonderful balcony suite so we could sit on the balcony and watch the landscape slide by. Room was exceptionally outfitted with a surprising amount of storage space. The boat was wonderfully outfitted. The only things I missed were no availability of exercise equipment or space on board for massage. It would have also been nice if ...

Epic Adventure Among the Wonders of Ancient Egypt

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Viking Aton

From beginning to end the Pharaohs and Pyramid Cruise was superlative in every way. This was our fourth Viking River Cruise and it was over the moon wonderful. The Viking Aton was comfortable and roomy, and Chef Mario Dias cuisine was world class! The Tour/Program Directors were far above my highest expectations with learned, thoughtful, and engaging insights into the magical wonders of ancient ...

My husband and I returned recently from our Egyptian tour with Uniworld. We cannot possibly say enough good things about this company. They were exceptional in every way! We were met as we got off the plane in Cairo by a Uniworld representative who guided us through the immigration process, secured our luggage and took us outside to a waiting vehicle and driver for our trip to the Four Seasons ...

We did our first Uniworld Cruise on the Nile River this past March. We have also cruise with AmaWaterways and Avalon on other rivers. There were good and bad things about this trip and cruise line. Egypt was beyond friendly and we felt safe our entire trip. I was not impressed with Uniworld. From the beginning I could not get answers about our daily itinerary (I understand things are subject ...

An Amazing Adventure in Egypt

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Viking Osiris

On March 6,2024 we arrived in Cairo and were met immediately by a Viking guide who quickly moved us through immigration and out to a waiting van. The airport was very hectic and it would have been most difficult to negotiate it without the help of Gerkis, our Viking guide. After a harrowing drive through the chaotic streets of Cairo, we arrived at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel. It was definitely ...

In this review of our Nile river cruise I provided some travel tips and a day by itinerary review. Travel tips Choose a cruise line that will take care of you from arrival to departure. Cairo is a difficult city to visit on your own. This is not a walking city. You will need to negotiate taxi fares everywhere you go. The airports are also much different than other countries and can be ...

Egyptian history in a nutshell

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Viking Osiris

The Viking Osiris is a great Nile River ship, intimate, new, and designed for this service. Take advantage of all optional trips, especially the hot air balloon at dawn over the Valley of the Kings and the trip to Abu Simbel. The days are long, with little down time, but you cover a lot of history. The boat is relatively informal, no need to dress for dinner, etc., as you may be just coming ...

MSC worst cruise line.

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on MSC Poesia

User Avatar

10+ Cruises • Age 70s

This world cruise has been almost unrelentingly dreadful. We have sailed on all the previous MSC world cruises and they were exceptionally good, but in 2024 MSC has fallen off the cliff edge. Pre embarkation MSC shoreside totally failed to provide correct up to date information about the sailing. The conflict in the Gulf meant, like other lines, that our itinerary had to be changed twice, but ...
