Review for a Asia Cruise on Viking Orion

Chose countries I was interested in exploring...Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. I have traveled on Viking Riverboats twice before, and I was disappointed in the ocean cruise experience with Viking compared to other lines (I have traveled on Holland America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and Silver Seas). Overall, I felt the excursion experience lacked attention to the travelers, as excursions ...

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

This is our fourth Regent cruise and first on the Voyager. We took the pre cruise tour to Chiang Mai. The air included was basic economy and when we arrived in Chiang Mai the tours were decent. The dinner we were served with local dance was not a Thai dinner. Getting back to Bangkok and to the ship was efficient but we arrived to the ship just prior to setting sail. Our room was across from ...

We spent 2 nights in Bangkok prior to departing on the cruise to adjust to the time zone. Getting a taxi to the ship was a challenge, since it was close to our hotel. The taxi drivers didn't want the fare. Our cabin was fine, with a walk in closet and a tub. We spent 2 evenings at Candles on this trip and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The AmphorA dining room staff was wonderful the other ...

My wife and I chose Oceania for the interesting itinerary - Bangkok to Athens via some exotic ports. Top on our list was Petra, Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. We were on Deck 6 near the front on the Starboard side. The cabin itself was quite tiny and the bathroom even more starved of room. We did have a balcony so there was a little more breathing space but generally, we were surprised and ...

CRUISE TO NIRVANA (NOT)

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

It was billed as the 'Journey to Nirvana', which, according to Buddhist teachings, is 'a place of perfect peace and happiness'. But by the time we had reached Hong Kong after 17 days on Regent Seven Seas Voyager cruise from Bangkok in February 2016, the luxury five-star brand had lost many of its disciples. Among the myriad problems for 677 passengers (365 Americans, the rest from the UK, ...

Not Five Star

Regent seems to have no interest in their guests experience. Ports were cancelled due to weather, but communication from the cruise line non-existent. Dining room tables very close to each other. Staff in main dining room have very poor English skills. They cannot do anything except take an order, from a menu. No outside the box thinking thought process by them. Shore excursions for this ...

Three weeks prior to sailing we requested by fax, a Bon Voyage gift to ourselves as per the Princess website & cruise guide,. (champagne and canapEs A$100.00 credit card details in fax as gift had to be paid before sailing)One week prior, we telephoned ...

Princess Cruises: Leam Chebang Thailand to Sydney Australia 20th December 2007 to 9th January 2008 This is the first time I have attempted to write a cruise review and whilst it may sound a little harsh at times I have tried to be as honest and truthful as I can be. I am 51 year old male from the UK and travelled with my wife and 2 sons age 18 & 20 in 2 separate inside cabins on deck 10. This is ...

Bangkok to Sydney - Christmas & New Year cruise

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Sapphire Princess

Booked the cruise in September 06, three months before flight schedules came out in January 07 - despite asking for World Traveller Plus seating on BA direct flights, were given Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong (as were quite a number of early booking passengers we talked to). Would this have something to do with it being cheaper to fly indirect? The Sapphire Princess is a very large and beautiful ...

Sapphire Princess - Asia

Review for a Asia Cruise on Sapphire Princess

We have just returned from a Sapphire Princess Bangkok to Beijing cruise. We enjoyed the cruise but feel that we prefer a smaller ship - distance around the ship is vast and there is the inconvenience of having to go forward for most of the restaurants, atrium etc. We had an aft cabin and this did necessitate long walks through the ship. The waiting service on the ship is excellent and could not ...
