NEVER, EVER AGAIN! If you book a cruise after reading my review below, all I can say is “I warned you.”
We booked back-to-back Mississippi River Cruises in August, 2015. First one was from St. Paul, MN to St. Louis, MO: the second one from St. Louis to New Orleans. We had the same cabin for both cruises. As other travelers have mentioned, new passengers can come on board at 1030 a.m., but have ...
This was our very first cruise. We met many people who had many trips under their belt and listened to their tips and information. Our stateroom was fantastic and the balcony was so great day and night. I am a birdwatcher and saw many I recognized a few I didn't. Mark Twain onboard was a delight and also Mr.Marking and his many talents he shared with us. The food every day was fit for a king (and ...
This was our first cruise with ACL. We had a great time visiting small towns like Petersburg, Kake, Haines, Skagway and sailing through Tracy Arm and Glacier Bay. The trip was fun and educational with local experts on board providing information on Alaska, glaciers and all the wildlife we saw (bald eagles, whales, sea lions, otters, etc.). Most of the shore excursions on this trip are included ...
This was our first cruise with ACL. It was wonderful! I enjoyed our cabin-with a view of the coast of Maine. It was just stunning. Watching Maine go by with the lighthouses was like being in a movie. In fact, the city of Bath was used in a movie.
Entertainment was just my speed. Not to slow and not to fast and loud. Enjoyed the first night with the trumpet & guitar player. Their music ...
We embarked the Queen of the Mississippi in New Orleans, this was our first small boat cruise, what a wonderful experience, no lines or waiting EVER. The boat went north on the river up to Memphis, they had interesting & informative shore excursions that were included in the price for the most part, except for Graceland in Memphis. The rooms were very roomy and comfortable and all have a deck ...
This was our fourth cruise with ACL and one of the best so far. It's hard to select my favorite place during the cruise because there are so many 'favorites'. We love the 'small boat' cruise experience and this particular cruise is packed with excellent ports of call. The onboard entertainment was quite good as well. This particular ship is NOT stabilized but, that was not a problem for us. ...
This was a wonderful cruise. The food, the staff and service was excellent. I especially liked the smallness of the ship and guests. They were 53 of us and it was so nice to meet people from all over. I have booked my next cruise. Everything went so smoothly, even the weather. ...
First time cruiser of any type. Excellent experience. Was impressed by attitude of crew and staff. Food worthy of "name" chef restaurant. Service excellent and correct and always with a small and friendly attitude. Special request handled without any question or push back. Shore excursions good, if difficult to access due to the configuration of the river banks. Queen of the Mississippi is ...
First time cruising of any type. Picked a small ship since we didn't want to be over whelmed with people. Mostly had a great time. Met some great fellow cruisers, and some excellent dedicated staff. Cabin steward/wait-staff were great. Didn't mind having to come back to clean the room when we slept in, very well informed about the food, which was excellent throughout the trip.
Due o our ...
This was my 5th cruise with ACL. It happened to be in my neck of the woods so didn't have to fly to get there. The scenery was spectacular. I would have been content to just sit on the boat and sail around looking at the scenery. The food, as always, was excellent with plenty of choice and if you didn't see something you liked the kitchen seemed quite happy to fix what you wanted. The servers ...
