We just returned from a Southern Caribbean week cruise from San Juan. Very happy with just about everything.
We were Aquaclass, so most dining was in Blu. Excellent sommelier and maitre-d. Food was good all nights, sometimes exceptional. Service was very good, but at times a bit slow. But we didn't care - we had wonderful wine and conversations.
The ship is showing its age, but only is a ...
I have mainly sailed on Celebrity. Most of the time the service is excellent. This time there were a few things that disappointed me.
1- I felt pressured into buying a drink package by one of the waiters. This has never happened before.
2 - I ordered a steak from the main dining room. This is on the standard menu (stuff they served every night). The meat was very rough and it was cooked ...
We have been going on RC Cruises for years, pretty much for the points and discounts. We decided this year that we would break the mold and try the CC for the first time. We expected a very similar experience that we received with their sister company RC. That could not be further from the truth. CC is a step above RC in every way, starting with the excellent service you receive in the rooms, ...
We are both in our 40s and this is our 9th cruise, first one on Celebrity. The Southern Caribbean itinerary and the 123Go promotion was what made us choose this cruise on the Summit. We booked online and it was quite a challenge to get accurate information on their website, when it worked. We called customer service for help a couple of times, one person was very helpful, the other was ...
Just got back from the Southern Caribbean cruise on the Summit and was a very pleasant cruise overall. The ports were all on my want to see list and this was a nice time of year to visit. As many of the reviews stated, this is a 15 year old ship and in places shows it. We recently took a cruise on the brand new Royal Princess and were spoiled to the spotlessness of it. I'm surprised Celebrity ...
We sailed on the 7 day Southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan. The Summit is an older ship and certainly is showing a few signs of age, but it is still a beautiful ship.
We flew into San Juan on the day of the sailing and utilized Celebrity's air reservation system. The port is only a 15 minute cab ride from the airport.
Food - We ate our evening meal in the Main Dining room. The ...
Just got back from our cruise on the Summit. We had a good time enspite of a ship that really needs work. The ports of call were excellent and the excursions we took were as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the zip-line in the Rain Forest of St. Lucia. We arranged a resort for the day in Barbados through Hilton Resort. We took a Segway tour on Antigua arranged by the cruise line. This was a lot of fun ...
This was our 3rd cruise with Celebrity and the 2nd on the Summit. We chose the cruise because of the itinerary: sailing out of San Juan, 5 ports, and only 1 day at sea. We traveled with our children (ages 12 & 14) and stayed in adjoining rooms 6093 and 6095.
After traveling this summer with our kids on the Summit to Bermuda, we were uncertain about sailing the Summit again. This summer our ...
My wife and I booked this cruise for it's itinerary (many ports of call) for our 25th anniversary. Although for us there were many unknowns of cruising before departing, the cruise was perfect. We had very little issues with the ship and found it easy to get around. Our room was bigger than expected and the bed was very comfortable! We splurged for a room with balcony and glad we did. We sat out ...
Some background info about me- I am a 29 year old female who traveled with my husband (30), his parents, my brother in law and his wife, as well as their two young boys ages 3 and 6. This was my 9th cruise but my first time on Celebrity. The rest of my cruises were all on Royal Caribbean.
We got to the ship around 2 o clock I think after flying in to San Juan. Embarkation was quick and ...
