This was our 4th family cruise, the first on Celebrity. We enjoyed the experience, particularly our kids aged 14 and 11 years. There were a lot of kids on board in this age bracket (Christmas sailing) and they made some great friendships.
This cruise from Hong Kong to Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore has a nice mix of port and sea days. Not busy, busy with port days all the time, so you can ...
This was our second cruise with Celebrity and it was not close to the superb standards of the Celebrity Cruise in October to New England/Canada. So many issues and lots of little things that made this an OK but not great cruise. Foremost was the docking so far away from cities and the requirement to pay to get into "town". Shame that such a quality cruise line does not offer a free ride into ...
We just got back from December 20 trip out of Hong Kong, and wanted to highlight some of the things that we most enjoyed so that others planning their trips can take advantage of them. Also, a few negatives...
Hong Kong is a wonderful city to leave from. If you arrive early, it's easy to navigate the city -- say, go to the Giant Buddha, Victoria Peak, or the hop-on buses -- on your own. Hong ...
Booked a hotel 3 night pre cruise stay in Singapore, well worth it after a long flight from UK.
Embarkation very smooth and in our cabin by 1pm. Booked a Sky Suite ( 1st time in a suite) and well worth it mainly because of the use of Luminere restaurant and Michael's Club and 2 speciality dinners - one in Qusine and one in Olympic, both excellent. In Luminere and Michael's the service, food, ...
A Pleasant Surprise
When we embarked Celebrity Millennium for another Asia cruise, we did so with some trepidation as our previous experience on this particular ship was not as good as we would have expected from a Celebrity ship.
It seemed like an eternity since our last cruise, in fact, it's been eight months. For someone like me who is addicted to cruising that’s at least five months too ...
This was my 6th cruise and first on Celebrity. This was also my first trip to Asia. On this cruise I traveled with my Mother who has cruised 8 times. She is 70 and I am 38. Overall I was very pleased with the cruise, and with the ship. I was somewhat apprehensive given some of the negative reviews of the Millennium. Yes the ship is older (by the high standards we have today), and yes there are ...
We have been on many Celebrity ships and this was our 2nd time on the Millennium. From the moment we stepped on this ship we were constantly pestered for visits to other restaurants, drinks packages and spa treatments (all of which are at extra cost). Drinks were extremely expensive - one bottle of wine cost us £46. The ship is looking very tired and there is a lack of decent pieces of artwork ...
This was our third cruise on Millenium so we have experienced the ship through its several refurbishments and makeovers. The last, in 2012 added more cabins and reduced the size of the upper level of the MDR to accomodate Luminae restaurant for the suite guests only. This has resulted in closer dining tables and increased crowding in the buffet and in the bars and lounges around The Grand Foyer. ...
Itinerary was fine. just be very alert.
The cruise itself was very relaxing. Overall it was a fine cruise.
There were many activities and lots of shopping, all the places and ports were great.
Unfortunately we got stuck in rush hour in Penang, but we were on a ship tour, and luckily we did make it back in time to board. The Ports were good, and I was very fond of Malaysia and its ...
We have previously sailed with Celebrity twice on the Reflection which is the newest ship in their fleet and loved it so when we saw they had a ship with an Asian itinerary we booked it. We were slightly concerned at some of the bad reviews but it was more about the ports of call for us the the ship.
We had previously always had balcony cabins however at the time of booking the price was too ...
