We selected this cruise to celebrate my 60th birthday and our 40th Wedding Anniversary, so it was very special and important to us.
The embarkation at Southampton, despite the queues, was very well organised and slick.
Our stateroom was not to the standard we had been accustomed to aboard other cruise ships. The room was very small and the bathroom tiny. A refurb is very much needed. The ...
This was our first Cunard cruise, having been on more than 10 cruises with Celebrity and Princess. The Cunard cache lured us into trying them. We were impressed by the Princes grill, we liked the restaurant and private decks available to us.Service in these areas was very good. There was no need to reserve sunbeds which was great.
We noticed that the overall condition of the Queen Elizabeth ...
Total disappointment in the main dinning room Britannia (1) We are a party of six, setting of tables was unreasonably tight between tables. One end of our table was against a wall, waiters had to squeeze themselves to serve, particularly to the guest at the end.
(2) Menu was not appealing, its quality below average standard, most food on the menu remained unchanged throughout the voyage ...
This was our third Queen Mary 2 cruise and our 145 total cruise. After our first QM2 crossing my wife and I were determined not to repeat using it. However wanted to go for 6 weeks to Germany and Cnard was th3 only one taken us to Germany and back to New York with 6 weeks in Europe. We took the QM2 to Hamburg in September, again with reservations. Well, what a surprise, the staff, the ...
Personally I have never been interested in going on a cruise but it was the choice of in laws and I ended up being dragged along. After initially booking Britannia we ended up taking advantage of a cheap upgrade offer to Queens Grill.
It didn't start well at Embarkation when there was a scrum of people surrounding the doors into the hall in Southampton and no indication of where the priority ...
Mostly staff were friendly and polite, but not all, a couple were vert curt and rude, and seem to begrudge serving you, except in our dining room in the evenings, which was always good. I am always polite and expect the same in return. I had terrible Food Poisoning after having Scrimp soup. The Medical team didn't seem interested, they just sent up some Paracetamols, which they promptly charged ...
We are in our early 60's and fit and healthy. The Cunard line represented to us elegance, fine dining and an association with the Grand Queens of the Sea.
Though there were some good points to the ship including the Common Areas, the Afternoon Tea, Library and some entertainment, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.
We were in Cabin 6123 Starboard with balcony. We were ...
I'd previously been on the QE2 which was a beautiful ship that oozed class and was an amazing experience. Last year my husband mentioned he'd love to see New Zealand from a cruise ship. A short while later, after having my DNA tested, I discovered I had an elderly cousin and his family in NZ. What a golden opportunity to do something special. Remembering the QE2 cruise, I felt we couldn't do ...
Two years ago, my friend and I arranged a 'cake decorating cruise' with Princess cruises which was successful in every way. (We held cake decorating demonstrations on board on the 'at sea' days) For these demonstrations, we were allocated a dining room and appointed times, in both the morning and afternoon, and it worked perfectly.
We decided to arrange another and did so with Cunard ...
This was a short cruise for a fortieth birthday Melbourne-Kangaroo Island-Adelaide. We have cruised on QM2 previously and enjoyed it very much but this cruise was decidedly ordinary. I must say the ship is nice and the food is good quality but caters to a older crowd in taste and variety. We dined at Verandah twice and it was excellent, particularly the service, as this is where we met the ...
