Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We booked this cruise a year and a half ago while onboard our very first cruise ever on the Millenium in Alaska. We loved everything about that trip and were looking forward to an equally satisfying experience on this trip. Things seem to have changed since then. Embarkation was flawless. Quick, easy and smooth. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a veranda. The room was beautiful, ...

Holiday Cruise

It was our first cruise on Celebrity cruise but my 7th cruise overall with various lines. The main reason why we chose Celebrity was because we wanted to experience a cruise line marketing itself as “one notch above” but still being affordable. Also, we had cruised once in the past during the holidays and it was fun. With these considerations, the experience was very good but not enough to ...

Maybe last time w/Celebrity

We're Elite on Celebrity, but were a little disenchanted on this last cruise. I would say embarcation with the express pass was great, disembarcation easy also. We always carry our stuff off, and although directions were not consistent that morning, it was pretty easy. We sprung for Aqua class and totally enjoyed eating in Blu. Excellent staff, excellent food. So why are we disenchanted? ...

We were on Summit last year and were looking forward to sailing again for this 14 night cruise. As Elite members, we are always treated well on Celebrity, they cannot do more for us. This is the first time in long time that we did not travel with a current passport. It took no longer or less to check in with a driver's license and birth certificate. Only need to bring driver's license and ship ...

The ship itself is very nice and easy to navigate. The food in the main dining room was always delicious, our waiters Anish and David were fantastic . The buffet had a nice variety food was hit or miss, but definitely better than other buffets. The cabin was nice and the attendant was very responsive. We could hear our neighbors whole conversations, even them snoring at night. I’ve never ...

We chose this cruise to take our two grandsons on their first cruise. This was our fifth Celebrity cruise, but the first in three years. After we boarded (in a reasonable amount of time) we went to our stateroom (a family veranda) and were quite pleased especially the size of the veranda. Unfortunately the room was not totally clean. Couple this with our not getting one of our suitcases until ...

Just the Negative

This is my fifth Celebrity cruise in the last two years. Won't be going back on Summit again. The negative: Food in the OceanView Cafe for lunch and dinner was never hot and always warm. Breakfast was fine. 3 varieties of Lettuce (spinach, mixed greens, and green leaf) were not refrigerated and warm. They are just sitting in a large bowl next to the salad condiments. I like my lettuce ...

We live in CT and drove down the day before to stay at the HIE on Tonelle Ave in Jersey City. I would not recommend this hotel as it was difficult to locate and in a very industrial area. But in fairness, it was clean and our sleep quality was excellent. OVERALL We have not sailed Celebrity since 2000, although we have been on 17 cruises in total. This cruise did not live up to our fond ...

We sailed on the Summit (about a year ago), the appearance/maintenance of the ship wasn't that good, but the crew and food preparation was excellent. Now after millions of dollars of upgrades, the ship almost looks like the Edge. We paid extra for Aqua Class, because we wanted fine dining, any time dining, and no waiting (like you have to do with Select Dining). Celebrity added additional rooms to ...
