MSC in a nutshell

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Lirica

My family has taken about 20 plus cruises and MSC did a fairly great job in meeting our expectations. This was our first MSC cruise. I would say the highlight of this cruise was definitely the entertainment! the shows each night were elite! the dancers were exceptional. the pianist Antonio at the L’Atmosphere lounge was extremely talented. We ended up there every night. Edwin the waiter in the ...

I've mostly sailed in Mexico and Western Caribbean. I've always wanted to do the Western Mediterranean. I found this big ship beautiful and well maintained. Everything was polished and clean. The service was great as always in the restaurants, room service and attendant. We had a balcony room which was slightly smaller than the NCL cruiseships, but the balcony was generous. The twin beds really ...

Enchantment Ravenna to Barcelona

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Enchantment of the Seas

Originally, I chose this cruise because it was on the Brilliance OTS and had a golf course and a solarium pool with steps leading into it as my wife has a bad right arm and is waiting for a operation so being moved to the Enchantment meant no golf and not being able to get in the pool, so she was a bit upset but not the worst thing that could happen. As it happens, and these events are no fault ...

Great ship, sorting a few niggles would make it superb.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

In a strange way, ships like the Explorer could be considered 'perfect' cruise ships. They have a little bit of everything. I read an article recently that said ships like Mariner of the Seas (and therefore Explorer) represent the best cruise value you can get at the moment. Everything you want is there, even if some of it could be improved to make it perfect. The famous 'promenade' layout of ...

A Greek cruise is a dream cruise

I was planning this cruise for a year, but was back and forth between this and the Grand Mediterranean visiting multiple cities, but was finally convinced Greece was it after multiple adds and pop ups on social media, and quickly became the must see location for 2023...and was so happy I did, this was my first cruise of three as I was doing back to back I'm also happy Explorer was the ship, ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

The itinerary had port day each day visiting 7 different countries and 2 islands. A little overwhelming at first as I thought I would wear myself out. But surprisingly I never really got tired despite doing something everyday. I enjoyed most of the ports. Some were underwhelming. One port I would point out is that Venice was miserable. Local laws force the cruise ships to anchor at least 5 miles ...

We actually rebooked this cruise, after the offer was improved significantly to include flight credits. It was unfortunate that there was no child drop off for our 3 year old. So we cancelled our youngest kids. As we did not understand this at the time of booking. I didn't understand the reason for this. Unless Norwegian had staffing issues. How do enjoy fine dining or a theatre show, if you ...

Venice to Trieste October 2022 Balcony cabin The positives: Great value for money. All inclusive with a drinks package was a good idea. Wonderful crew on board. They were all cheerful, professional and welcoming. Good drinks package. My Drinks. Good food. We liked that it was light and the portions were not too big. Cabin steward was excellent. Post Covid Norwegian Gem - Greek Isles

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Norwegian Gem

So this being my first cruise post Covid (done several NCL cruises last decade) wanted to make a review of what works (and what is utter failure) with NCL. This is not a bash on them, I am a platinum member and very pleased with them overall, but they are not the same as my last cruise (2019), some is better, some is worse, others are just different. First off, the booking is not as convenient ...

We chose this cruise/ line based on the itinerary. We booked Aqua Class but didn’t really use anything but Blu. We ate in here every night and were able to choose the Blu menu or Main Dining Room menu. We enjoyed the smaller, quieter space. Food was good, but not sure it was any better than the NCL cruises we’ve been on in the past. The crew was phenomenal- super patient and friendly. I observed ...
