Originally planned this cruise for a 2020 sailing, finally happened in 2022. Not disapointed at all. Ship was 1400 guests which was 40% full. Never had to wait for really anything. Were on board in stockholm bu 10:30, the stress of pre cruise testing is real, but we made it. This was our first European cruise, very port intensive. The crew all wore masks and cleaned constantly, but were all ...
Our 3 generational family of 11 wanted to go on a mega ship. Some parts were great; others disappointing. The Aqua Theater show was wonderful. The ice show was a disappointment compared to the ice show that we saw on the Freedom in 2020 that used drones. This show was based on the board game Monopoly and was a yawn. It was disappointing that there weren't more variety/entertainment shows in ...
We booked this cruise well over a year before it left. The primary reason we chose this cruise was the stop in St Petersburg, Russia. Of course that was cancelled and while we considered canceling our trip as well, we didn't and I am so glad we didn't. While we were disappointed in the loss of that port I think that the itinerary was made up with the addition of Germany and Poland. While I do ...
This is our second trip on Anthem and it was 100% better than our last as the vast majority of COVID regulations have been relaxed.
Embarkation at Southampton was easy and our daughter was in the pool by 1.30 as we had had our first cocktail!
It was UK half term so the ship was busy with lots of kids. No problem with drinks in any of the bars (waiters work very hard!!).
Food was a ...
This was the Rhapsody's first since the pandemic began. I was told the staff were almost all new not only to this ship, but to Royal Caribbean and cruise employment generally. I was also told the ship had staffing issues in regard to numbers (like most any hotel or restaurant you've visited recently).
I chose this cruise based on itinerary and time of year. I was happy this ship was on ...
My first Royal Caribbean cruise, and really enjoyed it. The ship's layout was great, as was the entertainment and food, and everywhere had a great atmosphere.
We somehow snuck through embarkation in about half an hour, got changed and found a spot on deck 15 for an unexpectedly sunny Southampton afternoon.
On Deck
Weirdly, for such a big ship, I think the pool deck is quite small and ...
So, I said I would be back soon. After a week home for work. It was time to walk the gangway again on Voyager of the seas. This time by my partner in-crime. Mr Norwaylady.
He was super excited to finally walk the gangway again after 2.5 years and lots of cancelled cruises…. So his point of excitement and expectations was as mine last trip, it’s a CRUISE.
And the ports of call, area was not ...
Pros:
From check-in to leaving, everything went smoothly.
Kudos to the captain for staying in Santorini and not leaving. The wind did die down and he even arranged to stay late so we got our tours in. Only ship in port which is a major plus - IFKYK.
We did the ultimate dining package which was worth it.
Loved Izumi and Teppanyaki
The Bionic Bar was fun, except you can't use the ...
My husband and I celebrated our 26th anniversary on this cruise. We had wanted to do it for our 25th, but of course, Covid got in the way. We've sailed with RCI before but never a transatlantic. Overall we enjoyed our vacation though there were a few bumpy spots.
Embarkation went well. We were dropped off at the pier by my niece which was great since we didn't have to park. We had a 1:00 time ...
The ship is a literal floating city complete with neighborhoods, IE Boarwalk Central Park, Promenade. There is a ton of good enterainment at all times. The only reason is that the food was not nearly as good as on Celebrity APEX.
You have to go to the specialty restaurants if you want a good meal. The food in the MDR is passable and thats it. Nice people serving you there. We had Lobster at ...
