We chose this cruise because of the canal transit and the South American itinerary.
A week or so out there was a change to the itinerary, dropping the first stop in Colombia (Santa Marta), changing Panama City to Colón, and adding an extra day in Lima. I haven't seen an explanation for the change, and while the extra day in Lima instead of Santa Marta was a decent trade, Colón for Panama City ...
The crew were excellent. Most of the entertainment in the theatre were your dancers and singers Most cruise lines are reducing the levels of service and amenities provided. NCL has taken this to the extreme. There are no toiletries; no bath gowns; no chocolate on the pillow at turn-down. In fact they have no turn-down service at all. Dirty towels remain on the floor until the next day (often the ...
It was when Lorena, Sous Chef in the Horizon self-service restaurant, asked me on the first morning what sort of bread I preferred for my breakfast toast that I had an inkling that Aurora was going to deliver something special. The 65-night Grand Tour to the USA and Caribbean certainly did that, starting each day with seeded bread for my toast, baked by Lorena and cheerfully delivered to my table ...
What made this trip was the itinerary!!! I liked that we didn’t have to sign after each purchase with the uncomfortable feeling of needing to tip extra with our special drink and dining package. The ship didn’t feel crowded even though it was at full capacity. The ship was clean and staff was great. Carpets in halls need to be changed or shampooed. My room needed updated blow dryer. My mom had a ...
We chose this cruise because we liked the itinerary. This was our first Princess Cruise and we were disappointed. There were 4 sea days and many of the events focused on encouraging passengers to spend money on spa services. Some of the game events were better appreciated if you could participate in the game by buying some of the game items. We bought Deal/no deal tickets for $50 for 3 ...
The staff at dining room botecceli dining was wonderful, however I could not say the same for the staff on Divi Divi dining room, it was Christmas Day and we had an early setting and a private table, we were seated and given menus and then we waited and waited and waited, meanwhile more diners came in and got waited on before us, not acceptable. Not a quiet place on the ship to read or play games ...
Overall this was a good cruise, the ship though needing some attention is in good shape, we had no major complaints about the food which in general was good. Our room steward worked hard to keep our room clean and we had no complaints about the service. We enjoyed our trip through the Panama Canal and the stops we made during the trip. The shows in general were ok, everyone on board seemed to ...
The Ruby Princess was built in 2008, refurbed in 2018 and surely must be due for another upgrade. It's clean but terribly drab and grossly underwhelming. There are three main dining rooms and each evening all three serve the very same menu. It would have been nice to have a choice of cuisines, i.e., Italian, Continental, French, etc. The food was really not good, the portions were small and ...
We booked the Ruby Princess for a partial transit of the Panama Canal. I've did a full transit through the old locks eight or so years ago. For my friend it was a bucket list item. Seeing the new locks appealed to me. We are both in are 70s. We booked a mini suite-Reserve with the Plus option. Our room steward was pleasant and efficient, and the cabin was clean. I miss the evening chocolate on ...
Now that I am waiting to disembark the ship after an 18 day sailing on the MSC Divina I will leave you with my own personal review of this ship. Take it as a grain of salt like you would anyone’s review. We all have our own personal likes, dislikes, standards and personalities. Learn, get an idea and just go and have a great time on your vacation.
Ok onto my own thoughts.
