We chose this cruise because of the canal transit and the South American itinerary.

A week or so out there was a change to the itinerary, dropping the first stop in Colombia (Santa Marta), changing Panama City to Colón, and adding an extra day in Lima. I haven't seen an explanation for the change, and while the extra day in Lima instead of Santa Marta was a decent trade, Colón for Panama City turned out to be a downgrade.

During the cruise itself the political/criminal crisis in Ecuador meat we dropped off another port and had another sea day instead. This change was beyond NCL's control and was the right decision, but still disappointing and I got seasick on that extra day at sea.

Family Balcony

The Sun is the oldest ship in the fleet, and the bathroom looked like it was still the original from 2001. The ship had water problems twice which we weren't notified about and found out after the toilet didn't fill back up after flushing and discoloured water came out the taps. We also lost power in our room at one point but this got seen to quickly and fixed.

The rest of the cabin was fitted out nicely and because we were travelling with out 17 year old, the sofa was permanently set up as a bed - but this was our choice and we were fine with it.
