This was our 6th transatlantic, the 1st on Celebrity with the others on RCCL. It was a more northerly crossing than we are use to so we expected it to be a little rougher and cooler. It met those expectations and more with it being generally cloudy on most sea days.
Entertainment - with these T/A's the cruise lines typically brings in top notch performers and they (like the guests) are ...
Lots of odd things brought this cruise down starting with the rather strange layout of the ship, the change to main dining times with both being brought forward 30 minutes, the very noisy main dining rooms thanks to the DD layout and of course the redirection of the ship due to hurricane Tammy. Boarding at Southampton was efficient as ever, Vigo was wet, I stayed on in Lisbon, the Canary Island ...
Overall, we had a fabulous cruise for 16 days from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale with excellent stops in France, Spain and Portugal.
As my cabin mate has a cane and is Elite, we were put in a faster queue for boarding, which went extremely well.
The Regal Princess is a stunning ship! I especially enjoyed midship on Decks 15 and 16 where you can see the front and rear of the ship from one ...
Below is a brief review of our sailing on Queen Mary 2, September 20-29, 2023, 9 nights, from Hamburg to Southampton and on to New York.
This was part of a 5 week trip that began in Milan, Italy at the end of August, and included a 7 night sailing on the Azamara Onward from Rome to Venice.
We were in an Interior cabin with a window overlooking the multi-story lobby. We had noticed these ...
First of all, I'll admit that my review will be a bit incomplete as my wife and I got covid on the ship and had to get isolated for half of the cruise. With that said, I think five nights is plenty enough time to judge the ship. I've been on the Magic for four cruises, and it's been a bit of my "home ship", in a way, so I was eager to see what the Dream had to offer.
Unfortunately, I think ...
I know Costa as a place for great Italian food, vibrant entertainment, beautiful ships and a well functioning service. Now I took just a short time out on a repositioning cruise around Western Europe. I wanted to sail on Costa Firenze, because she and her sister Venezia caused very positive and very negative reactions and I wanted to have an impression on my own before the ship will leave the ...
Having recently completed a seven-day transatlantic voyage aboard the Queen Mary 2, our first Cunard experience post-pandemic pause and just after a couple of recent cruises on Holland America Line and Celebrity X, and we felt it useful to share a quick review. Our oceanic résumé is not devoid of experience with Cunard; we first sailed on the QE2 back in the early 1970s in tourist class and have ...
We boarded in Barcelona for a Transatlantic cruise to New York before continuing to Montreal. Although comfortable the ship is looking its age with a surprising amount of silicone apparent in the cabin, and once you see that your eye is of course drawn to other deficiencies, of which there are many.
To summarise: The good:
All the staff were happy, courteous and obliging. To name a few, our ...
We chose this cruise as we enjoyed a Translantic 10 year ago, and wanted to see Ireland, Newfoundland, and Saint Pierre.
The ship was beautiful. Food still as good as always (except was disappointed with Embers, wish they change it to Jaques),
Service was excellent with the room stewards, however in the food venues it was slow responses.
Ports of call were well received and tours were ...
Southampton to New York via France, Ireland plus the Canadian and American Atlantic Seaboard. This cruise went to many places we had not visited before. Unfortunately due to hurricane Lee we missed 3 of the ports of call.
Vista is a big ship with about 1250 passengers and the accommodation was excellent. The restaurants also provided high quality cuisine except the Ember Restaurant which was a ...
