We flew into Fort Lauderdale the day before our cruise and took a short cab ride to the Embassy Suites, a very busy but comfortable hotel with a nice manager's reception and a very good breakfast. There are many restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. This was my first time on this ship AND i will be back BUT.

I expected much more for the money we have payed and what others were talking about.
The ship is beautiful spotless and alot of quiet time spaces. very nice food choices. The restaurant was our favorite. My husband liked the Italian. . Lovely lovely surroundings.

I was disappointed because I expected a better standard of cabin, food and entertainment.
The cabin was shabby. The bed linen had seen better days and the valance was coming away from the mattress . There were stains on the carpet. The drawers were not easy to use and the furniture was scuffed.

The ship is looking a bit tired in parts but it is now 14 years old and celebrity are doing well in keeping it looking good. I just wish they did not try ans squeeze in so many alternative premium dining venues.
A lot of the nice touches seem to be disappearing: chocolate on the pillow, nice towels on the con. cabins etc.
The entertainment shows I would describe as adequate.

This was our 3rd trip on Princess (the previous being the Coral Princess and the Caribbean Princess). I agree with the complaints of many of the others. The Internet service was HORRIBLE. We spent 4 hours and $99.00 and could only answer 3 emails. Many times we couldn't even connect and spent lots of money while the minutes burned away. The full transit and the comprehensive and most interesting all-day commentary by Bill Keene. Not only was it available on the open deck, it was also available on our room's tv. The size of the Island Princess and its open deck spaces made it very easy to see anything and everything.

We previously sailed with Variety Galileo in Greece, had such a good time we repeated for Panama and Costa Rica. We had been on this same ship May 2014 with a completely different experience. I think the ports of call may be one reason this trip was disappointing. Last year we did the Mediterrean We have cruised 9 times on different cruise lines. We choose ports of calls rather than ships. There were 8 of us traveling together on this trip. We flew in a day early and stayed at the Rodeway near the pier. It really needs some refurbishment and we had a couple of roaches on our floor so the overnight bag we opened went up on the desk very quickly. They are friendly and efficient there so that helps and the shuttle to the pier went nicely.
