Wonderful cruise

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Majestic Princess

The three of us - my husband and I, 68 and 69, were really ready to travel again, and needed a relatively short cruise close to home so his 89 year-old mom, who lives with us, could come along. This fit the bill perfectly. Plus Mom had never been to California, so the two ports, San Francisco and San Diego, had lots of new things for her to see. Covid numbers were down, we were all fully ...

First trip in way too long. Great to be back. This was our first Royal Class ship. Wow, the Majestic is big and beautiful. But because Princess has followed a pattern in their ship design it felt like home right away. We did seven days on the California coast. Very pleasant get-away cruise. The staff and services were exceptional. We were so happy to be greeted and helped by a very caring and ...

Cruise and Staff were great, Medallion App has some technical issues

We have cruised on several lines including Carnival. Switched to this cruise to test drive Princess and we were not disappointed. Ship, Crew, Bar staff at the Aft Bar deck 16 were awesome. Lots of people had issues with the app to the their #5 Medical done, finally did it on my wife's apple. The Medallion worked great but interaction with the app was mediocre at best. Onboard staff only ...

We booked this cruise over a year ago (California Coastal) along with back-to-back Mexican Riviera cruise. The Mexican costal cruise was cancelled because back-to-back cruises were not permitted at that time. The food and room service were both great. The only issue we had was the room thermostat - it did not work. It took 3 days for Princess to fix the issue - One day it was very cold, the ...

Great ship and crew, food not so great

We are currently still on our honeymoon cruise from LA to Mexico. Cabo was nice, we wouldn’t necessarily go back to Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta, both are kind of dumpy, and not a lot of large beaches. Getting on and off the boat was a breeze with your medallion button, and our initial boarding at LA was fast and easy. The ship has been great, largest ship we have been on at 1100’ in length. Nice ...

Welcome back and we did it as a back to back! They ship is beautiful but the staff was what made the cruise. We were happy to be back but I think they were happier to see us. We felt very safe, all were vaccinated and all had to be tested. We were happy to see that the mask rule was enforced and that ALL were okay with it. From the time we boarded to the the testing for the back to ...

Great cruise - Medallion app needs tweaking

This would be a 5 star cruise except for the Medallion app. First I'll talk about the ship experience. As usual, I have found that Princess does a great job of selecting very personable staff. They were very polite, helpful and professional. Kevin, the Entertainment Director was amazing. We could hardly wait for the next games he participated in. So funny!!! Entertainment was first ...

Uncrowded Mexican Riviera cruise

I had no idea that capacity was limited to 55%, but how wonderful! There was plenty of room in the casino, by the pool, at the buffet.... It was a bit annoying to have to wear masks while traveling throughout the ship since all of us were vaccinated and had taken a covid test within two days of embarkation, but at least we were in the safest place possible in the world - on a cruise! Gotta love ...

Warning: new to Princess! So everything is new or different for me.

First, you need to know that I'm new to Princess. I've cruised on Holland America most often, so that is my basis of comparison. We took the Majestic Princess on the California Coastal Cruise in October 2021, from Los Angeles to San Francisco to San Diego to Ensenada, returning to Los Angeles. Two of the stopped that were scheduled originally - Monterey/Carmel and Santa Barbara, were cancelled, ...

we did this same cruise in 2019 on the Royal and it was good..also booked the same cruise in 2020, but you know what happened to the cruise world that year. i live an hour away from san pedro port and so no flying involved. we also drove there and parked the car in the lot which was close. the entire ship was 'freezing' and we could not find a decent table to play cards. the medallion did NOT ...
